That's a good deal. How much will it cost to replace the zipper? I just did my first sewing repair on a purse and it was difficult. Even though I am experienced at sewing, I wouldn't attempt to do a zipper myself.

So I was wondering - what do you think about putting one of the new tassels on this purse? I have the red ones from my colorblock but I am afraid that if I untie them, I won't figure out how to retie them.

My cobbler thought about $10, but I haven't taken it in yet, so we will see. I sew as well, but I am not familiar with sewing on leather, and I am also not willing to attempt a zipper with leather yet! I LOVE the new tassels! I haven't seen the key ring ones in person, but they have the nice, easy clip to attach them.

I would say it's best to leave a zipper to a professional. Plus, they have heavy duty sewing machines that make sewing on leather a snap. They can also use heavier threads than you can use.

yeah mine has a couple of "bent" fold lines that aren't horribly obvious but makes me sad. I don't know that dunking it fixes it on this type of bag

Mine has been dunked so, no, it doesn't help. I had to go back to the auction to compare, there were already bent lines in the pix so I figured there was no further damage, or at least not much. I'm not much for complaining to the sellers but I've had a run of bad luck lately and have voiced my opinion a couple of times.

I think it would be cute! I've put the tassel key rings on some of my vintage bags. It shouldn't be at all hard to tie/untie, just take before and after pix to help out. I think I know how they're on there, but I didn't look real close in real life.

I got this one off etsy :) Called my cobbler before I bought it just to make sure it would be worth it. Now that it is here, I LOVE it!

I have been wondering what I am going to do with my Madison Regis that was practically folded in half to go into a too small box for shipping. It has a crease right across the front, the whole way.

darn, that makes me want to cry. :( That is one I would take the time to complain about!

Guess what happened today? I loaded up my lightweights soft satchel and the zipper broke! Now she doesn't seem like such a great bargain. I asked at my Coach store today and the manager said that I could send it in for repair. She said since it is hardware, they might repair it. I have another thing to send off too, so I might as well. I didn't have it with me, though, so it will have to wait.

What? Two broken zippers in these bags? That's a bummer. Hope they fix it for you.

Stick a fork in me, I'm done. I've said a few times I was looking for a Whiskey Legacy bag, and I have the Shoulder Bag in Pond, and I'm notoriously cheap and poor...so it was looking like it was likely to be the Ali...and I finally found and received one that was in my price range, probably because it was listed as a "Coach Satchel":

She's nice and clean inside and out. The bag has obviously been carried, but no flaws that I could see except maybe these scratches on the flap:

They might well have happened in the shipping box as she was just floating around in there with no wrapping being banged around. I rubbed a little Leather CPR into that spot and it's disappeared.

For some reason I didn't expect this bag to be so big! I thought I had seen it before IRL but maybe not, or it's been awhile and I'd forgotten. I actually like a longer strap and played with attaching the strap from my Flint Editorial Zoe to the original strap and I think it looks kind of cool. We'll see how I feel about it when I carry her. Strangely, you can tell it doesn't really match when it's sitting there but when I put it over my shoulder it looks like it belongs, the hardware matches and the chain accents looks kinda cool. We'll see about that.

ETA: I got her for $125. The only one in halfway decent condition I've seen go for less than that was around the same time but it was eDropoff and I will not buy from them. This one was in better condition too.

I'm wanting one of these too eventually !! I love the Whiskey color!

There's an adorable little consignment store/boutique near me that I love and she charges way more than I can afford...but...I love to take my things there to sell. I came in to pick up my left over summer stuff from her, and she said I had a $20 balance I could use if I wanted anything. I see that she has this beautiful red $66 Lafayette Soho Tote marked HALF PRICE , plus this little matching coin purse at half off making it only $7.50. That's math I can work with!! So I was able to walk out the door with these two for $23 total. (and two bags full of summer bags/shoes that didn't sell and now I have even more stuff here to trip over...oh well)

This is a bag I'm going to really want to fix up, desperately. She has one issue (2nd photo) that on its own, doesn't bother me, but I"ve had bad luck washing red and having the bag fade JUST ENOUGH to make the stained spot seem MORE prominent. (I'm scared!!!) It looks like a surface scratch IRL, but the photo makes it look like a water line, and frankly it could be a little of BOTH. But unlike almost any other vintage red bag I've found, I want this one to WORK!!! She's a nice large size. The coin purse didn't have its hangtag, and its ball chain was replaced with a silver split keyring but I can restore it back to brass.

Love that color brown, and the style.
