HI AW..Congraulations this is a Great Color Combo.. Did you guys had to buy like a lot other stuff before you were actually offered a Kelly..that wat most people have told me..I was told that i need to spent at least around 10k buying other small stuff before i get a Kelly or Birkin, Im not even that picky on colors..Wanted to get a Kely 28 or maybe 32..Or Birkin 30 is fine too..

If I tally up what we purchased less the purses then I would say no. I think you said it perfect, if you are not picky on color and size then you should be able to get one sooner. I think it just worked out good for my wife as she wanted basic colors first. I think the leather type also makes a difference but not as great as size or color.

It seems like to us, could be different depending on which store you go to, most shoppers want the kelly or birkin in a bright color. Basic colors are not as popular. We were told that a pink birkin is one of the hardest colors to get due to the demand. Also learned there is definitely a two bag limit within each calendar year for how many B or K you can buy. So we are only allowed to buy one more bag this year.

I have to say good luck to anyone on their journey to get a B or K. This forum is great for information, I joined initially to help my wife on LV then moved on to Hermes. From all the reading I too was worried about being able to acquire a B or K in a reasonable time, so I started the process in the summer of last year and just have been lucky. Also pays off to get a great SA. Not sure if this is true but from my casual observations, the women SA's must have a lot of regular clientele as in most Hermes stores I have gone to, it was almost a non starter to get on their list to buy. Their list of regular clientele I assume must get preference for whatever becomes available.

Hope this helps.

Thank you.Im in New York.
So i guess i'll just have to visit the store in Madison more often...

I'm in need of a new "home" boutique and plan on making Short Hills Hermès my go-to boutique. I would like to start a relationship with an SA. Would it be okay if I expressed an interest for a Birkin on my first encounter with an SA? Note, I don't want the Birkin now. Just one in the future, I'll be ready to buy another Birkin 6-7 months from now. This isn't my first Birkin, but I would still like to add another to my collection. I plan on buying things I like here and there about once a month, but I don't plan on dropping ridiculous amounts of money. Does anyone have any experiences with getting a Birkin at the Short Hills Hermès?
I like Sarah in SH. She showed what she had to me & let me tried on whatever I asked for. I started this new relationship with her in end Nov n was offered Kelly in Mar. My next list is a B. It's completely ok to tell her what you want so that she can note it down on your card. Hth.

Great experience again for us. Epsom Rouge 35 Birkin. My wife is very happy as the the color is much deeper in Epsom compared to her Togo GP in the same color.

We did see someone else picking up a blue colored Birkin as well.

I would definitely recommend Franco as a SA if you need a new one.
Congrats! You are such a sweet DH! I do have great experience in SH malls

Thank you for this, amandakmc! I think I may try the SH boutique instead. I went to the Wall Street boutique in NYC, and although the SA was nice to me, I didn't really have a great experience on the phone with him afterwards. Also the drive to NYC is much longer than Short Hills(5 hours vs. 3.5 hours, not including the traffic in NYC). I avoided SH because of the bad reviews, but I think I may give it a try.

That is not the experience we have found.

My wife and I had been shopping in the Long Island store for a while(learned it was a franchise store later), they were awful to deal with. Everything was always a 6 month or longer wait and this was for belts!

We tried Short Hills last summer and have never gone back to our local Hermes. We had been to all the NYC stores and they are not bad as well but due to the tourist area, their stock is hit or miss.

With Short Hills, my wife was able to get an evelyne on our first visit and a black kelly maybe 5 months later.

I would recommend Franco who has been an amazing SA to us. Not sure how the other SA's in the store are but what I have found with any Hermes, you just need to find the right SA.

Thank you, A W! This is very helpful. I think I will try Franco or Sarah, when I visit next month!

How was your experience with Franco? He is the best. Got an orange enamel buckle & limited edition "happy H" belt kit from him! This my local boutique. I always stop by to see what new. :graucho: I'm currently looking for a blue croc cdc with gold, hopefully he can help! I'll pay him another visit soon. :D

Franco is really nice and extremely helpful! My initial experience with a female SA (don't recall the name, but her last name was very Greek with long brown hair) so don't be deterred from going to Short Hills!

I totally agree! Franco is the nicest SA in Short Hills. Dealt with him since the store opened. No pressure attitude, helpful and kind. Definitely the man to make a rapport with if you're looking to make a long term commitment to the brand at this location.
