Selling on Poshmark

I came here hoping to get advice on how to get my funds released from a Poshmark sale from two weeks ago.
I was so angry at Poshmark's lack of action that I filed a report with the FTC and my state AG office. I don't expect much, but it made me feel better to waste my time and try.
I see many of you sell beautiful, expensive handbags. All credit to all of you sellers. I would be really upset over a designer bag getting returned and worried about condition.
All in all, Poshmark is a mess and I am done buying and selling on the site.

Can you explain a little more what happened? Are your funds being held for some reason, or are you just not sure how to deposit your balance from a sale?

Hello,
Thank you for trying to help. I have had my closet open on and off for the last year for about six weeks total. I last about 1-3 weeks at a time.
I don't have very much experience, but have sold at least 80-100 items in the 6 weeks. It may be more.
Anyway, it was my last sale. I usually sell NWT, NIB clothing, boots and shoes from my personal closet. It's items that I don't like the color, fit or have too many similar items.
I have had one NAD complaint. A reseller who would purchase a brand of sweater for $25.00 on Posh and resell on eBay for $225.00. This is great for me, I get extra closet space and someone makes a few bucks. She did return one for stains. I looked it over three times before I spotted a tiny pale yellow dot in the seam. It was new, never worn and I really had to hunt for what she was talking about. I have many resellers who buy from me and they are great buyers.
My point is I try to sell quality and cheap to get rid of my items fast. I had 20+ lululemon align leggings and swiftly tops. I cut the tags off, washed inside out on cold, air dry and put on sale for $10.00-$12.00 each.
Someone purchased 3 align leggings for $30.00. It was saturday and USPS was closing. I sold all the lululemon within about 3 minutes of posting a listing. It ended up, that after buying align bras, leggings and swiftly tops, I didn't care for the brand.
Here comes my error. The buyer cancelled the order after shippment. She repurchased the 3 leggings and added p.j. savage NWT p.j.'s (from Nordstrom $72) for $20. Poshmark took 5 days to send me a second shipping label.
I had already shipped the item at a cost of $14.90 on an item that would pay me $16 after the Posh commission.
The buyer was given both tracking #'s and was updated. Both items were delivered 10-14 days ago.
The buyer never rated, complained or communicated with me. CS and Posh have been contacted several times with a request for release of payment or return of the four items if there is a problem.
I transfered the funds from all of the previous sales, but Posh CS is ignoring me.
It's a small amount of money, but as a seller with almost a flawless track record of selling, with shipping within 24 hrs., careful packaging ect., I find the way Posh is not handling the issue frustrating.
I am the first to admit that I made the error, but I tried to make it right and it seems I made it worse.
Sorry this is too long.

I'm sorry this has been such a long process for you. I usually do have success when I contact Poshmark customer service to release my funds when I can show by the tracking number that it was delivered. It sounds like you have already tried this though. Let me tag one of our members who might be more experienced selling with this platform than I am.
@whateve do you have any ideas for this member? Thank you.

So the problem is you shipped items but buyer cancelled order so the funds are not released to you? Because once order is cancelled then those items would be as never were sold. You could send CS the tracking and result of delivery, should be able to get a result.

Wow! That is so kind of you. It bugs me that I promptly fulfilled my end of things and wish Posh was more responsive and had a better turnaround time.
I admit, I tend to be someone who wants to see something though. Also, my husband has an MBA/LSSBB and feels companies need to live up to their promises. If you don't complain they don't know where they are falling short. So much for seller protection.

My sincere thanks to you. You must be a very kind person.
I received a 5 star rating from the buyer and my money was released. It took 10 days since the second package was delivered and 14 for the first.
At least it is resolved. I will never sell on Poshmark again.
Thanks to all.

How kind, thank you. I am so glad that it was resolved and thank you for updating us here! I understand how you would not want to avoid selling on Poshmark to not potentially go through this again.

What’s your experience like selling on Poshmark? The experience probably varies depending on the buyer you get.

I have sold two purses on Poshmark so far. Contemporary brands. I didn’t make a profit on them (not that I expected to). Overall, both buyers gave me 5 stars.

Now, I am considering selling my Chanel Boy bag on Poshmark. Given its price tag, I am not sure if it’s a good idea. I heard some negative experiences from sellers. What are your experiences like?

I rarely used my Chanel Boy bag, so I don’t think it justifies its price tag and it’s sitting there collecting dust.

Thanks for sharing!

In my experience it is easier to sell less expensive items on Postmark than more expensive items.

When I have posted more expensive items, I tend to get lots of really low-ball offers. And the potential buyers want to chat with you (a lot) in the message area of the site, asking you to lower the price and telling you sob stories about why they can only afford to pay $45 for a Lady Dior bag. I've even received demands such as: You need to lower the price of this item because I am buying it as a gift, so I am not going to pay more than $50 but the recipient really wants this item.

I recently had one potential buy who was messaging me and making offers about every 30 seconds for about an hour. I tried to remove the item for sale from my "closet" so that I could stop receive pings from this user, however, because the item was getting offers and messages, Postmark would not allow me to remove the item from my closet.

I have the impression that buyers see Postmark as a rummage sale.

Thanks for sharing your experience. You helped me made my decision - not to post my Chanel Boy bag on Poshmark. Poshmark takes quite a portion of the earning from high ticket items, which means I have to price my purse pretty high for me to have a reasonable profit.

I thought about selling it to local consignment stores, but they pay so little. I might as well keep it and use it whenever.

$45 for a Dior bag? If the person only had $45, then perhaps Dior wasn’t the brand to be considered. Some people probably took Poshmark as Ross or Winners.

The most expensive thing I've sold on Poshmark was around $750. I shipped it to Poshmark for authentication and they shipped it to the buyer. Everything went smoothly. I think I'd be more afraid to sell an expensive item on ebay than on Poshmark.

I just sold something to someone who lives about 1/2 mile from me as the crow flies, a little over a mile on the road. I wonder if she is going to be upset about that when she sees the return address on the package.

wow....she could have possibly saved on shipping but then again, Posh wouldn't allow it and you wouldn't want to do it privately with a stranger, right?
