Hi all -- I've been buying/selling with FP for years, like 15+ years and it's like literally hundreds of items I've sold/bought. I sold a few items last week and one came back as 'not able to be authenticated' and now they are requesting $75 for authentication and said in the email I can longer sell with them. Any idea how to resolve this? It's really upsetting since the item was purchased in-store and of course, with all the years I've been with them to have this occur.
wow, did you let them know you bought form store and have all the documentations?

I’m so sorry, this is normal for them when they want to get out of paying the quote for an item that they don’t want to honor anymore. This has happened to me a couple of times, and both times they had offered more for the item than I expected. I sent them a photo of the receipt with the serial number in my name and then “as a courtesy” they did not charge me any fee to have it sent back, but they also would not buy the item. One of the items I sold to another company, the other I resubmitted to them later and they accepted it but the price was about $1000 lower.

Is that green one? If that’s it, I think I might understand, because while many would think it’s new, others may thinks it used, because the hardware is tarnished. And the size color combination made that bag is a risky item, only Fashionphile such large companies would buy at high price. This bag either sell or won’t sell till many discounts over.

People would not buy it just because come with box, dust bag, tag etc.
There are several green ones. The one I sent is listed as excellent without any hardware issues noted.

Thanks! They said the bag was painted, and I had a few bags got returned from them throughout the years, all saying bag was painted or condition of the bag was not what they expected
If you still want to sell it, AFF is a great option!! While I've waited longer for payments from them, the amounts I've received are almost always higher than those from FF.

I received the quotes and was ready to send in my bags, but since check payment is the only option, I’m feeling a bit hesitant. Just checking, has anyone actually received their check yet?
I did! And I live on East Coast, which typically takes an entire week. This time, I received it within 4 days of the email indicaitng it had been sent, so that was a good thing!

Do you still have the receipt? I would try calling the 800 number and explain the situation to them. If this was the first time this happened, I would expect them to handle this appropriately and allow you to verify authenticity and at the very least, waive the fee and allow you to continue selling with them in the future. This would be particularly upsetting if they did not allow you to continue to sell with them given your lengthy history with them.

Direct deposit worked for me yesterday, and I just got another offer from them and it’s still working!

Thanks so much for the info, both of you! That’s super helpful and definitely puts my mind at ease a bit.

Glad to hear direct deposit and PayPal both worked out smoothly. I was feeling hesitant with the check-only option, so this gives me some confidence to move forward. Really appreciate the transparency too, especially about how things are on their end.
Thanks again for taking the time to share!

I'm hoping that 15 years will also allow for a one-time courtesy here. I feel like my item is being held for ransom -- pay or it's destroyed in 60 days. I called yesterday at 1pm and after waiting 1 hr, their phone system basically hung up on me with a 'you've reached us after hours of 8-5.' So... yeah, 1pm is after hours? I wrote to them instead. We'll see. I just want my item back so I don't need to deal with them ever again.

totally agree, it is clearly you did not intentionally sell them fake, they should not punish honest sellers such as you. P.S, if you bought items through some of platforms (even some consignments), please be extremely careful, I had caught super fakes multiple times even they had went through authentication services, I had to prove why they were super fakes and returned them. Please be very careful, I actually don't buy things if I can't authenticate them nowadays, Knock the wood!

The SAME THING happened to me when I called!! I live on the east coast, so there is a 3 hour time difference. But after waiting forever, I received the same message. So I called back the next day as soon as they opened, waited an hour and did eventually speak to someone. I know how frustrating it has been with them lately. I did notice that they have several BBB complaints and if they don't resolve it in your favor, they seem to respond quickly to those complaints. Fingers crossed they take care of it before it gets to that point. I have noticed that they now take a few days to respond to emails, where as in the past, I would receive a message back within 24 hours. It is really disheartening to see that this is how they treat long-term loyal customers.

So... update -- I called to no avail and sent an email without an answer. I went into my account today and they deducted the $75 'authentication fee' from the other bag I had sent in. I had sent in 2 at one time so, they took the $75 from the other bag and shorted that check. They did not give me any one-time courtesy waiver (as I would have expected after 15 solid years of purchases) and they never replied to emails or calls. Thankfully I haven't bought from them in over 8 months so breaking ties from this point forward will be easy. I just want the bag back since I know it's authentic from the store, and since they went ahead and took the payment without express permission or any notification they would do that. And I'm supposed to have faith that the bag they send back is really mine and free from whatever they do to bags to 'authenticate?' I'm super sad that a business I trusted and believed in for so long has gone so badly down.
