I got an email today for a survey on how I would like to get paid from Fashionphile. The first question was how I usually get paid-by check, fashionphile credit, direct deposit, etc. The next question was if they instituted a $10 check by mail fee, would I still be paid that way. The next question was why I choose to be paid that way. The last question was what is the max fee I think they should charge for a mailed check-$5, $10, $15 or I think there shouldn't be a fee. Did you also receive the email/survey?
Wow, I am always selling and buying with FP. I never received an email like that.

I received a survey from them today, asking how they can improve their service, and how we would feel about them charging us for checks, preferred mode of payment, etc. Did anyone else receive this?
Uugh, gross! Lol. I hope they dont start charging us to get paid. Wow. I like my direct deposit and the 10% bonus for store credit. I do not want to be charged a "service" fee for them to pay me. It's like they are nickle and diming us. They already make a nice profit on our items that they sell.:(

I'm hoping that 15 years will also allow for a one-time courtesy here. I feel like my item is being held for ransom -- pay or it's destroyed in 60 days. I called yesterday at 1pm and after waiting 1 hr, their phone system basically hung up on me with a 'you've reached us after hours of 8-5.' So... yeah, 1pm is after hours? I wrote to them instead. We'll see. I just want my item back so I don't need to deal with them ever again.
This just happened to me after doing business with them since they opened. So utterly unprofessional. I sent them an email, but I’m sure they couldn’t care less. I posted my disgust on Yelp.

I got the same email survey. This is not unusual, every consignment store I’ve dealt with over the years has charged a fee for sending me a paper check. So to me, it’s simply business as usual.

I have not had any businesses charge me for sending a check, I only heard The Real Real which is the company I do not buy or sell to who charges for sending checks.

There are quite some companies currently providing great services on payments, either by direct deposit or direct wire or echecks. By charging fees to sending checks would be a less advantage in competition with other resellers, especially when FP’s quotes are lower than other resellers. Why would I sell to a company pays less and charges more? Makes no sense.

I’m talking about local small consignment stores. I’ve dealt extensively with stores in Palm Beach and in New Jersey, boutiques that sell high end goods, and they’ve all taken a small service charge off for writing a check. For me dating back over 30 years.
