I don't know why they don't just use a generic color descriptor, like red or pink, so no one would be disappointed. I do that when I resell unless I'm absolutely sure.
The exact color name is everything for Hermes. Color and leather define the price more than condition, it's a matter of collectability. hermes will SPA their bags.
Even when you inspect the pics, sometimes the issue(s) are not all photographed. Some issues in the pics look worse and when you see it in person, it's really not that bad, and other times the issues are more apparent and you may have something you see not mentioned (Ive had smells not mentioned, popped stich, color not accurate). That doesn't happen to me too often though. Most of the time the overall condition is accurate along with the description and with the price I paid, it is an "even" exchange. My problem is that freaking reserve! Lol. Don't make me eat the cost because I trusted your listing but when I got my item it was not accurate. I should be able to get a full refund immediately with a fight. They seem to not want to take responsibility for that. I hope they change that. I like to buy my items in peace! Lol
This! I had 2 bags returned in 6 months when they covered back corners with a chain. They zoomed in on one corner, a different one, no damage. but the damaged ones were covered by chain dropped when photographed from behind. It's always NYC location. I don't think it's an "honest overlook", because it was also listed as excellent condition or giftable but when arrived there was a deep nick there.
I actually buy a lot, and I only return what's obviously damaged or listed with wrong size/model.

If every seller only use red pink instead of specific name of the particular red or pink, then probably doesn’t make difference, but if some sellers use correct name for the specific red or pink that would give that seller an advantage when people are searching for that specific color, there are many buyers are very particular, especially comes to Chanel and Hermes, just my guess.
For me, I like the correct color name of the item mentioned because pictures are deceiving and can appear off in the pictures. Some brands like Chanel and Hermes have multiple shades of pink, reds, greys, etc and the shades are not too much off from each at times so the accurate manufacture name helps me buy exactly what Im looking for. The personal shoppers are not always knowledgeable, they just trust what is written in the listing which is what they stand on. I like what I like, and for me, not all colors are created equal so giving the accurate manufacture name color really helps me since I do educate myself with the exact shade Im searching for. :) I say, Fashionphile, just take the time to get all the information in the listing RIGHT! Afterall every item is authenticated, therefore everything about the bag is exposed at that time and should be listed accordingly. There shouldn't be these type of errors and if there are, then take responsibility for the error(s) and refund the customer with a hassel free return. If you do that Fashionphile, you will remain number one in the game, if not, people will just go elsewhere which I do at times. I have been pleasantly surprised and pleased with my experiences elsewhere due to the price I paid, the condition being more prestine then I thought and the listing being 100% accurate. I still love Fashionphile, but the prices are several hundred more then others at times for the condition and if I can get it cheaper elsewhere, that is exactly what I do. Lol. It makes more sense to me and leaves more cents in my bank account! Lol

Yes exactly! I do count on the personal shoppers alot to be my eyes there when going over bags. Im sure i get on their last nerves! Lol. Don't just send me pics and be done, that's not good enough for me, especially when I reserve as I do not want to pay 10% for a cancelled item or if I need to make a choice on which item to pull the trigger on. This is me: Tell me, the listing says "black", is it a true black or is it faded. Oooh. It's more of a charcoal black, ok, that's is not what I want...next! Lol. What is that spot on the corner I see in the pic, oh, exposed piping, your description says corner wear...that's beyond corner wear in my book. It goes on and on. It is hit or miss. Using the Personal Shoppers does help to expose those surprises you do not want, but the listing mistakes sometimes will get exposed AFTER you receive your item as the Personal Shoppers don't always know unless they themselves are just so passionate about bags to begin with, like us. We know more then them at times, almost as if WE should be working there. Lol. I personally think I would make an AWESOME Personal Shopper. Lol. :) I will give out every detail and mishap I see! Lol. Fashionphile may tell me to put a lid on it. Lol. However at the same time, it could be beneficial in selling more bags as we all depend on a listing to be correct. I got a pleasant surprise once on a Christian Louboutin Paloma bag. It was listed as a mini which is too small, however it was a small, which was what I was looking for. I discovered the mistake when the personal shopper measured the bag for me and also seeing the details of the bag. I am glad Fashionphile has personal shoppers. Their listings just need some work along with customer service for AFTER the sale.

Has anyone dealt with their new conversion to Stripe for direct deposit? I’m deeply concerned by the level of detail my bank warned me they want access to (like account contact information and balances before I “link” my account.) That is WAY more of a privacy concern than a routine number for direct deposit. Bc PayPal takes fees, and I don’t want store credit - I now have to wait for a paper check? This seems antiquated. And a huge privacy liability if I give them access to whatever this linking system is.

Yes, I had encountered that too and I am not comfortable doing with that method so I am now taking checks with them.

PP takes fees now? I thought it's free as long as you don't need immediate deposit to your bank acct and choose standard time, which is usually the next day.

From their selling FAQs. It may not be PPs fee - maybe you pay their G&S fee for them. I’m not sure.

“You may choose to be paid via the following methods:

  • Store Credit (plus a 10% bonus!)
  • Neiman Marcus Gift Card (plus a 10% bonus!)
  • Direct Deposit
  • PayPal (fee applicable)
  • Wire Transfer ($50 fee per transfer applicable)
  • Check sent by US Mail”

News to me about PP. I’ve sold to my Gemma and not paid fee to be paid via PP. Maybe it is their fee.

If they deposit via PayPal, PayPal will issue a 1099 over the federal threshold and you will have to go through that tax headache.

I called my bank and asked about direct deposit and they said it was very low risk. Yes, they have your routing and account number. Guess what? That’s also on any single paper check you pay with these days. My bank convinced me it wasn’t a big deal. I’ve been getting direct deposit from FP for years.

I don’t know anything about swipe and wouldn’t give my info to a third party and I sure as h3ll wouldn’t let them have my balance for a direct deposit. Absolutely unnecessary

I’ve been using their direct deposit for honestly forever at this point and wasn’t uncomfortable with that. The move to Stripe is VERY new - last month or so new. I emailed them. Worst case I take a written check but I won’t be using their new service even if it’s supposed to be safe. I’m just increasingly uncomfortable with anyone getting more access than minimally necessary to do the job and this seems like an overreach on Stripe (it’s prob not FP who gets that info, it’s that company and - no thank you to either of them having it tbh!!)
