I received an email from Fashionphile today, telling me that it's my anniversary and I joined on this day in 2011. The email says I've sold them a total of 32 items and purchased 12. Also telling me my total payout. I have only had 100% flawless experiences with them.
I love how Fashionphile feeds and enables our retail therapy and our reckless financial decisions. 😂

I received a similar email recently. Not sure exactly how long ago I joined, or when, but it was interesting to see this data compiled. I wonder if they’re trying to encourage more people to sell, given the tariffs? There was an article in The Washington Post just today about how downloads of resale apps are up quite a bit due to the tariffs, so maybe this is a marketing technique?

I would think prices of everything are all going up anyway, on good side is more people maybe go look to buy second hand especially on higher prices items, on the other hand, probably less people are buying higher prices items if there are alternatives.

This same article talked about how resale items aren’t being marked down as much due to an increase in demand. I’m not a huge resale shopper, but am finding all of this interesting as a regular consigner.

That’s interesting to know, thanks! I constantly buy and sell, I found this year is the worst so far. Hopefully market gets better.

Yes I got an email too and my mouth dropped to the floor! My payment total is crazy high, which tells me I spent close to double in buying those items as I almost always never break even with FP. It is what it is, they are a business so they will only pay me so much, I get it. I've had great experiences with them but just the other day when reserving an Evelyne GM online that was listed as Etoupe ended up being Etain! The listing was wrong! I went to FP to sell items and brought this issue up to the manager and I was shocked when she didnt give me the option to cancel my reserve to get a full return due to their mistake. She asked if I asked the personal shopper if it was Etoupe and I told her I did and she told me it was Etoupe. Then she asked if the personal shopper sent me pics? I said yes, but with lighting its hard to tell and anyway the personal shopper said it was Etoupe. It is TOTALLY Fashionphile's fault however she wasnt willing to assist me and told me to call customer service to see if they are willing to do something for me as they are strict with the reserve. I said yes, but even when the listing is wrong???? She looked at the description and the description does say Etain but in size PM. So the listing we all see on the first page is Etoupe GM which is what I thought I was getting, but in the description it reads Etain PM. So is it a Evelyne in color Etain in size PM or is it in Etoupe color, size GM??? Well it turns out to be Etain in the size GM. The whole listing had errors. I was pretty annoyed. It should be automatic that they take responsibility for their mistake but nope, I have to go to battle for it. I paid off my reserve with my sold items so Ill wait for it to arrive, hopefully by next week. Hopefully Im ok with the color Etain but heck, I thought I was ordering ETOUPE! If the size is PM Im DEFINITELY going to battle as the size needs to be GM, not PM. It's sad as Ive been a constant client of theirs for about 9 years. That manager has known me for years too. Wow, to make me EAT their mistake is crazy to me. Smh. What I am discovering is, if everything goes as planned, you'll have a great experience. If not, and you need to bring up an issue that needs correcting or you need a 1 time exception to their rule, forget it.

I was JUST ABOUT to give them another chance, and I had a similar experience with a reserve not being as described, even after the personal shopper agreed, and I was STILL not refunded. SMH -_- Sorry this happened to you. They really don't seem to care to do much if stuff doesn't go exactly as planned, like you mentioned. They have an amazing selection of products, great deals, just pray nothing goes wrong lol.

I almost feel like they should just remove the reserve feature at this point, it's beyond strict to the point it's a "buyer beware" option. Also agree the 'fun family' feel of shopping in person is gone :(

There are lots of other resale sites to choose from, but FP offered a really great in person shopping experience...or used to. Hopefully in time they go back to how they used to be

Wow. I dont get that, I REALLY don't. Even The Real Real will refund you on their "No Returns" bag if you receive a bag that is not as described as it happened to me and The Real Real took care of me with no push back. So basically you need to be a detective with FP before you buy...is the size advertised really correct, is that really the right color, or hey, is that bag really lambskin, or is it goat skin??? Some times you will not know the answers until you get the item in your hands. Whomever does the listings need to be accurate. I've come across errors multiple times already. This really puts a bad taste in my throat. They should do full refunds on their mistakes, go and fix the mistake and relist it. Someone will buy it if that is what they want.

it also happened to me last month when Chanel business affinity that I bought on reserve turned out to be a wrong size, Small instead of Med. Both size and measurements were listed wrong, looks like they are copypasting without checking. My personal shopper agreed on full refund immediately, I even sent them an identical listing on their site where it's listed correctly as Small. then they issued me partial refund withholding both 10% and return fee pretending "they didn't see a note". I had to email to personal shopper, to CS, call to CS until I got a screenshot with the full refund. But they messed up that too, issued part to a wrong card. What a pain.

I miss the days when the personal shoppers really were their "own" department.

They used to just waive the reserve if you didn't like the item for whatever reason within 24 hours, but client services got annoyed by this for some reason, so personal shopping ended up holding items for clients instead. If an item pops up for sale, then says "coming soon," it's prob. on hold so someone can review it at a time that's convenient for them.

When the NYC office was closed, the west coast team would hold items for you so right when NYC opened they could review them with you. That way you didn't have to risk a reserve fee.

I also had a personal shopper agree a listing was completely incorrect, made notes under my order, and said client services would waive the reserve fee. This was when personal shoppers started to be unable to waive reserves, so it had to go through client services. It was for a bracelet that was listed with the incorrect size, it was more for a little kid, not an adult.

I showed the personal shopper pictures of it in my hand, and she instantly knew it was the wrong size. Client services said that having a picture of a bracelet in my hand looking ridiculously tiny wasn't enough proof that it wasn't the right size, and that I needed to MEASURE it and show the length. I had no means of measuring it, and client services suggested I ask a neighbor or go buy a measuring tool for jewelry lol.

Long story short I never got that reserve fee back. I noticed the bracelet was constantly being listed and sold, listed and sold, then one day the listing was finally updated with the correct size. I called in about it, client services still would not give me back my reserve fee and said it was a different bracelet. At this point I was losing brain cells and stopped arguing.

After experiences like this I usually take long breaks, then get sucked back in, because they do have a great selection and prices.

I recently got an email that they received my quote for a LV bag. I never submitted a quote. I checked my email and seller page and then contacted client services under the technical issue category. The agent couldn't understand why this was a technical issue and that regular client services could just remove my quote. I'm like...the technical issue is this isn't my quote. I never submitted this. Is my account compromised? At this point she was starting to understand and suggested a password reset and deleted the submission. I can go ahead and post the submission in case anyone here recognizes it as theirs lol.

ALSO has anyone had experiences with items instantly being purchased after reviewing them with a personal shopper?

Wow what the heck! That is just bad customer service. I understand mistakes happen, but come on, MAKE IT RIGHT by the customer. The excuses and lack of accountability is so annoying. Sorry you went thru that.:(

Oh my gosh! Lol. Unbelievable! What's going on? Gosh there are so many errors lately, I often see them on the site. Thank goodness I have gotten into the habit of asking, but even this last time when I asked about my most recent transaction of my Evelyne, asking if it was truely Etoupe, I was told yes...but it clearly is not. So even when you ask you can get the wrong information...STILL...and they will STILL make you eat their mistake.

Gosh for you to get a quote on a bag you didn’t submit is very strange. How would a mistake like that happen? One time I had items in my cart which were 3 prestine Chanel Flaps. This was last year sometime. I did NOT put those in my cart. I was at home browsing thru the FP website. Early that day I was at FP using their iPad and calling items down to view. After I give them their iPad back, I was told that they will sign me out of the ipad. So , what I think happened is that they never signed me out of their ipad when I left and went ahead and gave that same iPad to the next person to shop from. Geez...they could have looked through my account. So from now on I ask for the iPad back and I log myself out vs allowing them to as they obviously drop the ball at times. I called back the next day during business hours and told them what I experienced and to log me out. Smh

Yes, I have had items I was looking at with a personal shopper get bought while I was looking at it. Very suspicious. Sonfar it has happened to me 3x. Makes me think the PS bougjt it or their coworker.
