Secret Tips for Caring For Your Celine

Hello everyone!

This is such a great thread and I wanted to share with everyone how I was able to remove scratches from my natural calfskin leather phantom. Unfortunately I scratched up one of the handles very badly with a ring of mine. The scratches in the leather then started to peel a bit and the handle just looked awful. I had read some people on the forum recommending Apple Leather Care, and I figured what the hell? Well I purchased the Apple Leather Care and applied it to the whole bag, and really rubbed a generous amount of it into the handle with the scratches/peeling leather. I then let my phantom dry overnight.

By morning when my bag had dried, it looked flawless and brand new! I highly recommend the Apple Leather Care to everyone with a Celine that is not made up of an exotic leather or suede.

I only wish I had taken before and after photos to show everyone the amazing difference Apple Leather Care made to my purse!

Hi ! I just bought my first Celine mini luggage in calfskin. And I notice that by just taking it out and putting it inside the dust bag there are some small marks and scratches and I told myself how much more if I use it and I'm a jeans person it might rub a lot I against my clothes. It's been a week and I have not use it yet because I'm scared. I need help on how to put protection on the leather so I can use it. Thank you !

Is there some kind of spray to protect my Celine mini luggage with?

I use collonil waterstop spray on my black smooth micro and my drummed vermillion luggage to protect against water or rain, works wonder but bear in mind that it does give a matte look, and the leather looks less shiny after the spray, so if u dont fancy tht avoid using it. :smile1:

Any tips on how to keep colours from staining or rubbing off on this bag? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200989125661
I'd also love tips on how to take care of the handles and keep the bag moisturised and protected against rain and such!

Color transfer is inevitable, u just hav to avoid using new dark colored clothing with the bag, for rain and water u can use any water repellant spray/cream, I usually use collonil waterstop spray for this. HTH.

Ladies i have a question is it normal to see color came off with a python bag wen u tried clean it with a damp wet towel?there was nothing else just normal. N it was a brand new bag i got. n my Sa claim you cant do that with any bags. Seriously?so im suppose put my bag in the safe or something.it my first day using it n i see a tiny stain. im not sure if the bag came in like that what should i do.

I just received my first Celine for Xmas (Croc Phantom) and I am over the moon. However, I am terrified I will ruin it. I have done some searching on the forum on how to store it properly and some say upright and others say laying flat. I currently have it stuffed with every piece of tissue paper I own and upright in it's dust bag but after my Prada ended up dented from being upright too often I'm a little nervous. So empty or tissue stuffed? Wings in or out when not in use? Upright or flat? Any input is appreciated.

Thanks!

Hmm I stuff my phantom, push in the wings and tie it closed at the top. Then I place it in the dustbag and sit it upright on the shelf. Do others k ay it flat to store? That would seem weird but if others do so please explain to me, thanks.

I haven't tried that with my Celine bags. But once I rubbed a MK bag with a damp wet towel and it ended up having two spots since the color did come off. I believe it's the way you are cleaning your bag with I mean heavy rubbing can cause a damage not like wiping gently

I think that laying flat to store is to help eliminate the rippling effect that certain leathers have. I have a friend with a 10 year old Clemence Birkin and she lays it flat every night so that it maintains its' shape.

I love exactly how my Phantom looks right now so I just want to do anything I can to preserve its' shape, as silly as it may sound :p

It's normal. When I cleaned my python for the first time my towel was really dirty. I also did use leather cream and my python box looks much better now, even since it was brand new.
