Do you girls think I should leave my brand new celine bag at the shop for a few days to let the staff spray the waterproof coating etc?

I can't bear to leave it there!

And was told that waterproof coating will actually cause the bag to be more shiny! Is this true?

I really dont wish to it will shine coz i would like to keep the leather as original as possible!
Yes...have the works done...you won't be sorry!

For those of you living in hot and humid climates, how do you care for your bags? I'm moving to an island. That means beaches, fresh fish, beautiful weather and humidity! I have read the entire thread but would appreciate climate-specific tips.

I currently own Apple conditioner, a cleaning product from Aldo and a protectant from Aldo. All 3 work well for me. I am also a pro at keeping baby wipes handy, even though my lovely children have grown beyond a need for them. :giggles: However, I know the magic they can do for a bag.

So, for those of you in the Caribbean, Africa, Asia, what do you do to keep your bags beautiful?

Looking forward to any advice. TIA.

@Aluxe I live in the tropics, in Southeast Asia where we only have two seasons: wet & dry. I protect my bags by storing them in cloth bags/dust bags and regularly rotate them so that they are used and aired. Also, I use the following protectants:

1. Vectra spray which guards against rain & others (wine, grease, dirt, etc.)
2. Cadillac lotion (from Anthony's on Geary St.)
3. Anthony's lotion which also guards against rain & others (from San Francisco on Geary St.)

Hope this helps.

Gosh I thought I responded to this already but clearly neglected o. My apologies. Thanks for the tips! Will continue to do what I do but will ensure to bring the bags out to breath on a regular basis.

Thanks again!

Hi everyone! I'm new to this forum and have a question regarding the Celine croc trapeze bag. It's part suede and part leather. Can anybody recommend products I should use on it to precondition/protect it? Thank you so much!!

Just wondering if anyone can offer some advice. I have a trio in navy which I am very happy with. I have noticed a few marks on it though. On the front of the bag there is a very light mark/smudge which you can only see in some lights, it looks like it could be makeup. Any recommendations on how to remove it? I am not really bothered if I can't get it off as I really have to inspect my bag closely to see it.. I read earlier in this thread that someone recommended Chanel makeup remover or baby wipes. I also don't want to risk discoloring part of the bag, so any advice would be much appreciated :)

I read through this thread and others in the reference section, but I couldn't find any suggestions for black marks on the handle of drummed pebbled leather (Phantom). I have only carried my bag a few dozen times and one of the handles is totally darkened on the underside. I'm not sure what it is from - I usually carry it on my arm, so dye transfer or lotion, perhaps?

I used Apple to clean the dye transfer on the side of the bag from jeans and it is good as new, but no luck on the handles. Any suggestions? I tried Chanel remover, Apple cleaner, dabbed rubbing alcohol - no luck.

Someone please help me!! I"m desperate! I have a Celine Python Vertical Cabas in a buttery/tan/yellowish color and I purchased Bick's Leather Conditioner #4 to hydrate and care for the python because it was beginning to look a little dry (plus it said that the formula can be used to care for exotic leathers). I tested it on a small portion and it seemed fine…..so i used it on the rest of the bag

…..

the next day the whole bag is DRY!!! It looks ok but now even the parts that were fine before are kind of peel-y. WHAT DO I DO? I purchased this bag second hand so I don't even know if i can send it into celine. does anyone have any tricks/tips for taking care of python skin? please help me it's my favorite bag!! AHHHHH. any help would be appreciated! or maybe even a national service that helps to restore bags? thank you!
