Best top coat I've ever used. The smell is pretty bad but it's well worth it. I can do my nails right before bed without worrying about those terrible indentations in my manicure. I use it with Witch Craft's base and different nail polishes such as OPI, China Glaze, Essie, NuBar, Sally Hansen, etc. And it's SUPER shiny. =)

I have the Seche Vite base coat the clear top coat. I didn't find that there was anything exceptional about this brand at all. I had heard so many raves on Youtube about this brand. Definitely overhype. Sally Hansen is better.

I use the SV top coat religiously (I even have the SV thinner which I do use to keep the top coat flowing smoothly since it can get thick).

For me, the key is to (1) use a base coat (I used on by CND) and (2) to apply the SV top coat while your nails are still wet. If I try to apply SV on top of dried polish, regardless if its as the initial top coat or as a mid-week coat, it makes my nails thick and the do chip/peel easily.

But when I apply it in the steps outlined above, I get about 7-10 days minimum. Not sure what my max is since by day 10 I've probably removed it and applied a different color.

I love Seche Vite top coat. The only complaint is that it gets really thick and you have to buy the thinner if you want your top coat perfect.
Do you think it makes a difference, that it has to be Seche Restore, to get SV thinned well and still working well as a top coat? I use Sally's (house brand thinner, forget its name) and I find that my SV is never quite as good after thinning with the stuff from Sally's.

I don't know if it's just a marketing ploy from SV but they stress pretty hard NOT to use anything else but SV Restore to thin out your SV.
I think it even says on their website that it's highly unlikely to finish a bottle of SV topcoat without buying the Restore.

I use the Restore for my SV top coat and I find it thins it out without any change in performance to the original SV.

I love SV but it does get thick. You can place it in the refrig...this helps a bit.
I thin it back with CVS Professional Polish Remover and the SV works well again after a couple drops.
BTW this CVS remover works very well taking off nail polish with no residue. Base coat/polish adheres very well.

For it, it's the opposite! I didn't like SV before because after I few days my polish would literally peel off but if I put it on after my nails are a bit dry already it works a lot better.

I bought this on my hols to the US but it peels off?? and I didnt realise you had to get a thinner!! it went thick after a couple of uses I had to chuck it out-wasnt impressed at all and went back to OPI

I love this stuff. You just have to remember it has to go over wet polish or it will peel. I wrap my tips with polish and top coat and it helps with the shrinkage. I like to use a different top coat right over my polish (usually Barielle Manicure Extender or sometimes a Sally Hansen clear polish) then a coat of SV. It gets think and I stray, but I always come back.

I purchased this top coat last month and absolutely hate it!
I've tried everything! Applying it on wet nails.....Using a base coat (actually tried two different brands... Essie and Sally Hansen).... Applying it very thinly..... Nada! Nothing works for me, sadly enough.

The last time I used it I was in utter disbelief. Two nails peeled the morning after painting my nails. I'm only saving it because the bottle is full and I hate throwing newer items away. :weird:

I'm going back to my "Beauty Secrets" top coat from Sally's Beauty Supply... It definitely keeps my manicure fresh for a couple of days!
