i've been tweaking this system and finally arrived at something that works JUST the way i need it to. i have to see the buggers in order to pick one, but i also wanted storage materials that wouldn't damage the silk. the solution was archival window envelopes and stiffener boards -- fold the scarf and place it over the stiffener board, insert into an envelope and arrange file-style in a basket. (OK, more than one basket -- but i'm NOT telling how many! )

Just beginning to understand the extent of your genius! :)

Finally gotten around to posting my scarve storage. I wrap them around archival cardboard and slip them into archival pastic folders - got this from a comic book storage site

I really wanted to bump this thread to see how everyone is storing their scarves and if the envelopes are still doing well.I am getting tired of fighting the boxes that they come with from the boutique, and I just don't have the storage space .I constantly worry about bugs getting in the boxes and me not knowing about it.So at least once every two weeks I take everything out vaccuum like crazy and go though all boxes making sure nothing is happening (bugs)I worry about carpet beetles and moths. I use tons of lavender.I think the envelopes will be a blessing you can just flip through and see if anything is getting to the silk, and pick out the scarf fast.

INGENIOUS!! The best way to store scarves!! I like this better than my way of keeping them in Cellophane envelopes! Thanks so much for sharing your brilliant system!! :D

hi girlies. still loving the comic book storage system for my scarves. Sundays I hand wash my dirty scarves in lavendar wash. Then iron them (a bit of starch on the wrong side) And fold and wrap on their boards. I've graduated from keeping them in a box to having them in two magazine storage bins mounted on my closet door. If you go to the link in my siggy (H ladies) you'll see it. typing from my phone can't do fancy things from it hugs
