I try to organize by color and then have a scarf-frenzy and mix them all up again when I am looking for just the right one, only to discover it slipped under the others. Thank you!

I'm glad this thread was bumped! At the moment I have six scarves and two boxes--and the scarves are multiplying faster than the boxes :s -- so I'm going to need a storage solution other than cramming the scarves in boxes like sardines. (Also I am getting some voyeuristic pleasure from peeking at other people's scarf collections...)

To me, the issue with orange boxes is 2 fold
- they take more space than envelopes
- and they are not SEE THRU - the most important factor 4 me, whether I had 2 or 50,000 scarves

Fantastic, needs to do this as well, but i love my orange boxes so I don't know if I can let go

You need to get archival quality materials - acid free tissue and suchlike so that you do not damage the silk - it needs to breathe. I can't remember where you get them from, but it is the same kind of thing that museums would use I seem to recall.

I just purchased archival quality magazine boards for my scarves - (right now they are folded over 9 x 12 manilla envelopes and inserted in archival clear envelopes)! If you look under archival boards in ebay - you'll find various sizes for comic books and magazine storage!

wow, marietouchet. i love the way you folded those scarves the way the stores do.
I think I have OCD ... haha ... and I love to organise my stuff in colours, and in order.
However, I only have a few scarves. Maybe I should get similar folders with binder ring holes on their sides, and ring them up in a file. That way, the folders are straight and pressed. Going to try that out soon !
