That is so clever and attractive, I would probably take even longer choosing a scarf, I'd just be scrolling through them all admiring them. I wish I had enough scarves to require a system, I have about 5, all in their orange boxes so I know my choices, however I can guarantee when I'm in a hurry it's always the 5th and last box that will be the right one.
maybe this idea wil make it easier for you to find "the right one":
i still keep my scarves in their orange boxes,
and i stack them according to color,
with the tops underneath the bottom of the box.
i cut and pasted little labels for each box,
indicating colorway and design, e.g.:
black: indian

this makes it easier and quicker for me to find the one i want.

btw, i have only one plisse, and i keep that in its own box too!

I have developed a love affair with Hermes scarves over the years and now have quite a few but have never found a convenient way to store them so they are easily accessable and all visable.

Anyone have any storage solutions they can share?

On another note, I just returned from a wonderful trip to Paris but my latest scarf purchase was stolen from my hotel room ... very disapointing however I purchased my first kelly - a beautiful vintage gold noisette in lovely condition!

Scarf storage .... there are not one, by several threads in the archive talking about this. I remember the scarfies like Rose, S'Mom, DQ, hello2703, AirMess who contributed to those thread. If my memory serves me well, I think some of the ladies put each scarf in a plastic envelope.

The way I store my scarves may be frowned upon .... I just do the way the H stores do ... I just fold them, and lay them flat inside inside my drawer. I am sure this is NOT the best way to treat H scarves. So it's best you hear the advices from all the above mentioned.

Sorry to hear about the loss of your scarf. Terrible! But you can say the thief could see a good thing when he/she saw one. Sorry, I don't think that made you feel better. Did you report to the hotel?

Congratulations on your Kelly! Any pictures?

We've had several threads on this but without the Search feature operational, I can't find them.

I had always kept mine in their boxes and had little pictures of each scarf tapped to the box. But it was such a pain to find the scarf I was looking for and often I would want to try a couple to see if they matched my outfit and it was just a mess of boxes everywhere.

Soooo, Guccigal told us about a hanger that she was using and I ended up buying some and now hang my scarves in my closet. These particular hangers don't take up much room at all. I am really enjoying having my scarves visible so I can see easily put outfits together.

I keep mine in the boxes but write on the outside the name, size and main colours of the scarf. It helps cut down on the mess of boxes when I have to search. For my non-Hermes scarves, they are in shoe boxes -- labelled.

I don't have that many scarves, but the few that I do have, I keep in the H boxes. I tend to bunch them together, blues w/ blues, reds/pinks, etc. This way I can cut down on the boxes. As for knowing what is inside, I don't always know, but it's such a joy when I RE-discover a scarf from way back! I also have my closet organized such that my sweaters are done by color. So I have a section where the scarf boxes can follow that color. Yes, a little "scary sleeping with the enemy" like....if I could, I would DYMO my whole kitchen!:rolleyes::rolleyes:
