Most softer natural greens, greys, 'warm' blues and heather colours, soft grey-pinks too. Any colours to do with the Scottish mountains, any time of year. I thinks it's a lovely scarf on you.
From my tour of the Scottish Highlands I would add that the mountains also have a strong changeant chararcter, mutable, and that to me is a large part of what makes looking at them fascinating. Never the same landscape from one moment to the next. But the mountains are the colors you described for sure.

Well, I’m gonna post about the scarves I least like. They were both inherited scarves so I treasure them for sentimental reasons but don’t ever reach out for them. The Brides de Gala is special to me because It was a special hand-me-down and because of its original issue date (1957) which is my birth year. I think the problem is the light blue borders, which worked wonderfully on a darker complexion and hair color but not so much on me. I find myself fiddling around with with BdG to hide the borders and show some of the grey. I don’t much care for the overall pattern of the Tambours but the worst part is the expanse of light blue! Regarding the BdG, I’ve been thinking about stopping by my Hermes boutique and taking a look at the new Tattuage with the Abeille jacquard in a bold color or the BdG Love, just to own a BdG that I would enjoy wearing more than this one. Anyway, here they both are.

You've cleverly solved the issue of BdG in the first pic and it looks wonderful. Actually, the blue border of the BdG doesn't look bad with your skin-tone. As for Tambours, I couldn't wear that blue, it's a really cool, bright pale blue and a pure white base. I can see you're trying to work the brown to counter it but the white and the blue is fighting back so my only suggestion is to wear it away from you face, possibly as a belt, tied to a bag or as a bag etc.

I have a transformed scarf to share. I bought an old cw of Sangles quite deliberately about a year ago. It was the very first H scarf I ever saw, back when I was an awkward teen in Hawaii. I remember walking along Waikiki with my BFF, who has always been a sophisticated beauty, and we came upon a billboard that showed a picture of this scarf just fluttering in the wind.
I turned to my friend and said, "That is just hideous. I don't understand the point of scarves!"

Obviously, I had no idea what I was talking about. I bought this scarf to remind myself of the old adage that beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

(Believe it or not, I had a similar moment with Birkins after that episode of Sex in the City aired many years ago - "ugh, I don't understand the appeal of Birkins. They're not very pretty." I am a self-admitted dolt!)

Now, even with this all said, this cw was just OK. Here's what it looked like in its original state:

Lots o' primary colors. I didn't reach for it much. Then Hermesmatic blew into town and after one dip in denim blue, it looked like this:View attachment 3893054

Ooh, so much nicer! But I was curious about what another dip in violet would do, so back it went. The folks at Hermesmatic were incredibly obliging. Now it looks like this:

I'm very, very happy with this experiment!
Love it! Told ya purple was your thing. You rock it!

This Is my least favorite CSGM. Colors listed by Hermes include salmon and orange. Nowhere do they mention so much RED! Plus, I'm not crazy about the hat, which has a MUCH shorter brim than I prefer! Hrmph, said the grumpy old lady!View attachment 3893082
Ditch the hat fast. This is not the merry, confident look of the bobkat we all know and loving, posing in her shawls and picotins.

Yep, I agree about Tambours. I’ve found no solution! And, the first pic of BdG is about the only way I would consider wearing it. These blues are no good for me. Thank you!

I saw what papertiger had written. She could be right. But maybe pulling some strands of hair around your face to soften the look would be more relaxed and feminine. I have the same prob with hats insofar as hair is long and fine hair goes stringy quickly. A hat with a high crown with fairly narrow brim does work for me, with hair pulled up and fairly hidden.

So jealous!! (In a good way!) it is spectacular no matter how you tie it! My college major was Art History with a specialization in medieval illustrated manuscripts. So I totally relate to your medieval obsession.
You should start all your posts with an oversized Gothic letter encased in flowering vines, a serpent, and several birds with glorious plumage. I expect no less from your very interesting training :)

I do like the look.
But a suggestion if you are brave: throw it into the washing machine and then into the dryer: it will be velvety soft and the white might get just a bit muted ;)
Trust me, I wear the bandanas when cycling, they like to go swimming
Thank you! I really want to wash it but am a bit afraid of that optic white and the colors running. Mai Tai's post on washing promoted the shout color catcher as pretty good insurance on runs. Just working up the courage!

I always look at pictures first on this forum, and my first thoughts were "What a delightful pairing of dress and scarf!". I do share your distaste for stiff scarves that refuse to behave, although that wasn't my first, second, or even third thought about your picture!
Oh, thank you so much! I've gotten several seasons out my LL Bean stretch wool shirtdress and today was the first try at pairing a scarf with it. I think I'll learn to love this bandana if I just can find my ah-ha! knot. Still working on it ;)

This looks great! I agree the 2nd dip made a huge difference. Perfect for you! I have to say that I liked it in the original state as well.
