SOTD - Washington's Carriage bandana. I'm not loving this bandana as much as I hoped to. The silk is very heavy and the white just too bright for my taste. I don't mind it so much tucked into a black v-neck sweater but tied like this, with the tails swinging, I'm feeling "meh" on this purchase.
I always look at pictures first on this forum, and my first thoughts were "What a delightful pairing of dress and scarf!". I do share your distaste for stiff scarves that refuse to behave, although that wasn't my first, second, or even third thought about your picture!

Oh bobkat, I actually think you really suit those lovely warm colours.
Your compliment is very sweet. Thank you, Pautinka!
The brim of the hat does look a bit short for you but it's hard to do big hat and big scarf together. I actually think you look very smart and cheerful.
Thank you for giving me new thoughts about this hat, papertiger. Your fashion advice is always so spot on, and I am humbled by your belief that I actualy look smart and cheerful here!!

My fail scarf is gorgeous, jut not on me. It was hard to even find a pic, the only one is from the day I got it, worn with an unflattering tee.
It is the very bright Jardin Andalusie. I adored the darker CW Tango Tosca posted when the brighter one popped up at the bay. I was new to H scarves and paid a premium for it . Well, I do like aquatic blues, don't I? But this on is just so bright, so summery, when it would be time to wear it it is to hot to put on anything more than a twilly in the hair. I feel overpowered by it. Now I would never get a scarf with this shades of green, lime and yellow.

Last year the Tango Tosca CW was available somewhere but I decided against it :oh:
And some weeks ago somebody wrote that with all the fruit and scenery it looks like a kitchen towel brought back from the holidays. Can not be unseen!

I should just pull it out of the drawer to brighten up the dull November day!
First the Tango Tosca one:

I own the Jardin d’Andalousie in the blue and it is positively one of my favorite scarves ever! I lived in Spain for a while as a child and maybe that’s why? It takes me back to those courtyard gardens. Anyway, I adore it. Your is such a cheery perfect-for-summer cw as well!

My SOTD: Mont Sanct Michel.
If you know me at all you know I love medieval stuff. This scarf is impossible to find under 4 figures!! But I finally found one, not in good shape (you can see the detached hem). What was I thinking? I was thinking to frame it and hang on the wall (but the colors are not a vivid as some CWs. Instead I took it out to photograph today for you all, and decided to wear it with y new moto. LOL. Second picture is too puffy, but shows the green. Final picture is me going out the door. Red corduroy jeans and black booties. View attachment 3892745View attachment 3892746View attachment 3892748
Bad Ass Elegance is the phrase of the day.....if I were younger I would want to grow up to be you!!!

So jealous!! (In a good way!) it is spectacular no matter how you tie it! My college major was Art History with a specialization in medieval illustrated manuscripts. So I totally relate to your medieval obsession.

The last of my possible mistakes (the rest I’m in the process of re-homing already) - Mors et Gourmettes Remix.
I like this scarf but I can’t figure out the color - is it blue or lavender? So I wear it mostly with purple. I wonder - thinking across the color wheel - if it would work with creamy yellows?

Love both the cw and design!

I have a transformed scarf to share. I bought an old cw of Sangles quite deliberately about a year ago. It was the very first H scarf I ever saw, back when I was an awkward teen in Hawaii. I remember walking along Waikiki with my BFF, who has always been a sophisticated beauty, and we came upon a billboard that showed a picture of this scarf just fluttering in the wind.
I turned to my friend and said, "That is just hideous. I don't understand the point of scarves!"

Obviously, I had no idea what I was talking about. I bought this scarf to remind myself of the old adage that beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

(Believe it or not, I had a similar moment with Birkins after that episode of Sex in the City aired many years ago - "ugh, I don't understand the appeal of Birkins. They're not very pretty." I am a self-admitted dolt!)

Now, even with this all said, this cw was just OK. Here's what it looked like in its original state:

Lots o' primary colors. I didn't reach for it much. Then Hermesmatic blew into town and after one dip in denim blue, it looked like this:View attachment 3893054

Ooh, so much nicer! But I was curious about what another dip in violet would do, so back it went. The folks at Hermesmatic were incredibly obliging. Now it looks like this:

I'm very, very happy with this experiment!
Love every facet of this scarf. But must admit that the final version is spectacular!

I am so thrilled to be joining this thread today with my very first H scarf! I purchased this Jardin a Sintra silk beauty yesterday in the rouge/bleu/vert cw and I am so excited to wear it today. My lovely SA showed me this simple technique for folding, but I am also excited to play with the book of cards he gave me to learn more variations.
Welcome and so glad you posted this beauty! I am also relatively new to posting here and am so enjoying it! And learning so much on the way!

It looks great on you though.

I have learned and reflexed on so much! Well, I’m gonna post about the scarves I least like. They were both inherited scarves so I treasure them for sentimental reasons but don’t ever reach out for them. The Brides de Gala is special to me because It was a special hand-me-down and because of its original issue date (1957) which is my birth year. I think the problem is the light blue borders, which worked wonderfully on a darker complexion and hair color but not so much on me. I find myself fiddling around with with BdG to hide the borders and show some of the grey. I don’t much care for the overall pattern of the Tambours but the worst part is the expanse of light blue! Regarding the BdG, I’ve been thinking about stopping by my Hermes boutique and taking a look at the new Tattuage with the Abeille jacquard in a bold color or the BdG Love, just to own a BdG that I would enjoy wearing more than this one. Anyway, here they both are.

I like squirmy nekkid babies. It will be #2 on my wishlist, right after Joannadyne's angel booty. I think it's time to hint to DS that I would like some grandbabies

That Mother****** of Brown Scarves is gorgeous!!!!! I don't know how how it looks IRL but markova's pics make me think of butter-soft leather!:faint:

It is like leather IRL - in a papery sort of way :-) The lovely colours in M's pictures don't show up quite so much in mine - but being the queen of sludge colours I'm pleased with it anyway!

Mine has a muted orangey border and I bought it as a souvenir to remember walking down a road in Seville lined with orange trees - but yes, tea towels have been mentioned :-)
