I get everything you're saying but I do love it with the yellow. In this pic at least, the two colors make each other glow, like light shining through a bouquet of tulips.

LOLOL squirmy nekkid babies, you're killing me

Is that why I can't find the brown circle skirt of my dreams? At least now I know.

I wear a lot of brown, but I noticed early in my H explorations that brown scarves tended to hang around a long time on the reseller sites. I realized that when I wear all that brown in my wardrobe, I reach for a scarf that contrasts: a rich red or wine color, teal, ivory, potiron. I do tone-on-tone for other neutrals, but brown, not so much. And when I turn to a neutral for a dramatic accent, it's almost always ivory or black. Are others like this too? Does anyone have any insight why?

To be fair, my brown scarf niche is filled to the brim by one scarf, the Mother of All Brown Scarves (or, rather, the Mother-f***er of Brown Scarves, given how sensitive and uncooperative it is): Cavalcadour Au Claire de Lune. Look how beautiful in markova's pics: https://forum.purseblog.com/threads/show-us-your-exceptional-scarves.864042/page-5#post-26621259

CaCdL crowds out all other browns like a fat cuckoo in a wren's nest. I probably shouldn't let it, but the rudeness amuses me, the way a cat's rudeness does.

This thread is on fire tonight! What a fun topic. I am getting a cramp in my hand too, better take a break.

Belphoebe - it is written in the stars - we are a match made in heaven - we are brownish twins on the Cavalcadour :-) I just love to take mine out and look at it -wearing it is another matter, being stiff and unyelding. I am unable to tie it properly apart from in a cowboy style, so scared stiff ((pun intended) of losing it when worn - still, it is my most prized scarf I think, or at least a close second to my beloved Les Grottes Lascaux.

SOTD - Washington's Carriage bandana. I'm not loving this bandana as much as I hoped to. The silk is very heavy and the white just too bright for my taste. I don't mind it so much tucked into a black v-neck sweater but tied like this, with the tails swinging, I'm feeling "meh" on this purchase.
I like it very much!
But I like to tie mine that way anyway… :flowers:

I am so thrilled to be joining this thread today with my very first H scarf! I purchased this Jardin a Sintra silk beauty yesterday in the rouge/bleu/vert cw and I am so excited to wear it today. My lovely SA showed me this simple technique for folding, but I am also excited to play with the book of cards he gave me to learn more variations.

Lovely! and Welcome!

If you want to tone down the lime green of your colorway, could you pair it with navy?
And for what it's worth, I don't think it looks like a kitchen towel at all. The details are magical.

look what I found: I took this picture when I decided whether to keep the blue dress or send it back. This is enough distance to my face to look fine. Thanks for reminding me of this!

Really? I think it looks great. Maybe try with a scarf ring so tails cross rather than hang down?

Welcome to the silky side. This looks wonderful. You have great style already and I can see H-scarves will be really useful.

I have a transformed scarf to share. I bought an old cw of Sangles quite deliberately about a year ago. It was the very first H scarf I ever saw, back when I was an awkward teen in Hawaii. I remember walking along Waikiki with my BFF, who has always been a sophisticated beauty, and we came upon a billboard that showed a picture of this scarf just fluttering in the wind.
I turned to my friend and said, "That is just hideous. I don't understand the point of scarves!"

Obviously, I had no idea what I was talking about. I bought this scarf to remind myself of the old adage that beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

(Believe it or not, I had a similar moment with Birkins after that episode of Sex in the City aired many years ago - "ugh, I don't understand the appeal of Birkins. They're not very pretty." I am a self-admitted dolt!)

Now, even with this all said, this cw was just OK. Here's what it looked like in its original state:

Lots o' primary colors. I didn't reach for it much. Then Hermesmatic blew into town and after one dip in denim blue, it looked like this:View attachment 3893054

Ooh, so much nicer! But I was curious about what another dip in violet would do, so back it went. The folks at Hermesmatic were incredibly obliging. Now it looks like this:

I'm very, very happy with this experiment!

 much more you

My fail scarf is gorgeous, jut not on me. It was hard to even find a pic, the only one is from the day I got it, worn with an unflattering tee.
It is the very bright Jardin Andalusie. I adored the darker CW Tango Tosca posted when the brighter one popped up at the bay. I was new to H scarves and paid a premium for it . Well, I do like aquatic blues, don't I? But this on is just so bright, so summery, when it would be time to wear it it is to hot to put on anything more than a twilly in the hair. I feel overpowered by it. Now I would never get a scarf with this shades of green, lime and yellow.

Last year the Tango Tosca CW was available somewhere but I decided against it :oh:
And some weeks ago somebody wrote that with all the fruit and scenery it looks like a kitchen towel brought back from the holidays. Can not be unseen!

I should just pull it out of the drawer to brighten up the dull November day!
First the Tango Tosca one:

HL, I think it looks fabulous! But then again, I am partial to this colorway. This exact colorway of Jardin Andalousie is on a not-so-short list of mine but other scarves end up taking priority. Maybe a bow knot will control some of the bright turquoise?

This Is my least favorite CSGM. Colors listed by Hermes include salmon and orange. Nowhere do they mention so much RED! Plus, I'm not crazy about the hat, which has a MUCH shorter brim than I prefer! Hrmph, said the grumpy old lady!View attachment 3893082

The brim of the hat does look a bit short for you but it's hard to do big hat and big scarf together. I actually think you look very smart and cheerful.
