You rock, especially in this look, and a new lipstick?
Thanks. The lipstick is Eden by Lipstick Queen. Most reds made me look (1) old (2) like I have really bad teeth (3) very pale. These all might be true, but I don't need accentuation. This is a nice red, not too stark!
Looking fantastic
Thanks so much, PT
Whoa! Motorcycle Moma! Who would know you look so pretty in pink too? Love the Mont St. Michel scarf---what a treasure! It definitely has a story to tell, in more ways than one!
Such a cool scarf.
Utterly fabulous
Thanks!
Bad Ass Elegance is the phrase of the day.....if I were younger I would want to grow up to be you!!!
What a lovely thing to say! I would like to have some of your cheer and equilibrium!! Give me a few drops, please, to mix into my cocktail. : )
So jealous!! (In a good way!) it is spectacular no matter how you tie it! My college major was Art History with a specialization in medieval illustrated manuscripts. So I totally relate to your medieval obsession.
We can make a list of medieval scarves, LOL.
Very interesting scarf. I have never seen it before anywhere. I think I would fix the hem because it would drive me crazy. Love how you put the outfit together.
Thanks. Really I had not planned to wear the scarf today - it's this theme!! I do need to fix the hem, or I might put a fist through it and make things worse!

View attachment 3893128 View attachment 3893127 View attachment 3893126 I am thoroughly enjoying everyone’s postings and comments this week! I have learned and reflexed on so much! Well, I’m gonna post about the scarves I least like. They were both inherited scarves so I treasure them for sentimental reasons but don’t ever reach out for them. The Brides de Gala is special to me because It was a special hand-me-down and because of its original issue date (1957) which is my birth year. I think the problem is the light blue borders, which worked wonderfully on a darker complexion and hair color but not so much on me. I find myself fiddling around with with BdG to hide the borders and show some of the grey. I don’t much care for the overall pattern of the Tambours but the worst part is the expanse of light blue! Regarding the BdG, I’ve been thinking about stopping by my Hermes boutique and taking a look at the new Tattuage with the Abeille jacquard in a bold color or the BdG Love, just to own a BdG that I would enjoy wearing more than this one. Anyway, here they both are.
I think you look wonderful in this scarf!
(We are scarf twins on this cw)...

I actually got my green Animaux Solaures because it reminded me of the Book of Kells!
Nice to know. I have been looking at that scarf recently to reconsider whether I should replace the one I didn't keep (but did wear a fair amount). You can tell I'm fond of ornate letters. In fact, where the Gothic script is available as a font, I like to write emails to friends (message looks so grand).

Is there also a Buddhist association with Animaux Solaures, something like a wheel of life? I thought I read that in the scarf booklet years ago. H shoulda stuck the Book of Kells reference in their scarf description.

"Hi!!" from another scarf newbie! The scarf looks beautiful. And from one noob to another...just watch out for the irresistible urge to go from one scarf to an entire collection in a matter of weeks . My evilbay watchlist is so full I can't add to it anymore. And now, with the SS 2018 scarf photos posted yesterday and today....I am TOAST.
Welcome to the Toast Club!

I haven't thought about Little House on the Prairie for years. I think I read the first book in the series. The only part I recall is Laura buying cloth for a new dress, and she had a new hat to go with it. The hat had 3 feathers in shades of ivory and the wind almost swept them away the first time she wore the hat. Why I'm devoting brain cells to remembering this, I have no idea :confused1:

I think you are referring to a scene in These Happy Golden Years where Laura and Almanzo are courting, and yes, the feathers on her hat almost get whisked away by the wind, but Almanzo catches them and says that the hatmaker in town hasn't yet learned to stitch the feathers on strongly enough for those prairie winds. I'm glad you remembered it - it's a good series!

All.....I am enjoying this week very much. It just goes to show that a) we can all put a foot wrong now and then, and b) occasionally we may be more self critical than necessary. This week is like having sisters all over the world to check in with to ask: does this look OK, or is it as awful as I think it is?

Just as important, another pair of eyes or a refreshed viewing with your own eyes has brought new life to many scarves for people. A new thought about how to wear something makes all the difference!

Thank you! I really want to wash it but am a bit afraid of that optic white and the colors running. Mai Tai's post on washing promoted the shout color catcher as pretty good insurance on runs. Just working up the courage!
Color catchers are great. There is an extensive thead on handwashing silk scarves. They turn out great and get softer. Since Hermesmatic nothing scares me any more, they threw scarves of different color families into the same washing machine.

I hear ya. I am also definitely fond of ornate letters and borders. And, Eagle, there is no Book of Kells reference or association between AS and the BoK at all, but to me particularly there is a Celtic feel to the green/gold cw and the scrolls and overall design reminds me of illuminated manuscripts... It has a Book of Kellish feel about it, in my opinion.

This Is my least favorite CSGM. Colors listed by Hermes include salmon and orange. Nowhere do they mention so much RED! Plus, I'm not crazy about the hat, which has a MUCH shorter brim than I prefer! Hrmph, said the grumpy old lady!View attachment 3893082

Well I adore that CSGM !
I think I remember clocking how much I love it when CanuckBagLover posted hers.
I think the turquoise details really bring those colours together .It's like a breath of warm August to me.
I love fiery colours and find the juxtaposition here really harmonious.
Wish I'd nabbed one myself, I have an orange sized hole in my ever growing CSGM garden !!

Maybe it would shine more without the hat but with some turquoise in a necklace or something ??

I totally agreed with bobkat1991’s observation-sisterhood indeed
