Ok I promised to explore my MT Brazil this week.

Pros: I have a Hapi 3 in Malachite that matches this, the colors look good on me and with black, or purple (both of which are abundant in my wardrobe), and I love the design.

Cons: It's so looooooong that I find it hard to want to wear in the summer time, though the width of it screams summer use. I find I have "seasonal knots" and "seasonal scarves" and "seasonal knots" FOR the "seasonal scarves" (would that be a fun theme week....)

So here is my go to knot for this to shorten it up. A double wrapped Tod's Knot. Seriously a lot o' scarf around the neck ad great if it's cold out! But if not....no way, Jose!

So I started to play with it, here wrapped more loosely under a favorite low cut jacket (Romeo Gigli that I've had since the 90's...I'm so old....)

But really, it's so long the sane thing to do is start to think of it as "scarf as wardrobe" rather than accessory for summer use. Here tucked in a vest. It's falls below my knees.

I lke this better but don't know if it will stay put. I pulled it up to fluff it out around the vest opening. Imagine I'm wearing a tank top....

Ref to the last picture, can you cross wrap the ends around your waist? And fix it by a thin belt. You will get the chic top (i really like how you puffed it up and around your neck!) and the ends will not be hanging down from underneath your jacket :)

I don't wear gold. Technically it's because it doesn't suit me, but it's subconsciously morphed into not liking it in general. But OMG Hermes makes gorgeous golden scarves. I will just admire them all on y'all.

You don't technically have to have made the actual golden mistakes to join. You don't get excluded just for being smarter than I.

 I recently bought 2 scarves in gold: one due to the "gap in my collection" reason and the other because it was in a fave design. I don't often wear them, but no regrets. Shall find them and take a photo for the support group :p

And now, for the Support Group, I give you Big Gold Thing with Wide Gold Border
Lots of gold in both but Tahiti ties with plenty of cream showing, and Rouages has lovely intricate detailing. So they are very wearable. Albert isn't getting these from me :p I have Rouages in another cw, big gold centre with green & navy border. The big gold thing barely shows in a bias fold.

Thank you, Belphoebe! We will await the before and after photos---you'll be gorgeous and fall in love with Au dela just like I did!

And it seems no fair and no fun to exclude either one of you just for looking so beautiful and regal in gold. Maybe I will make a motion that we change it to a support group for People Who Want to Tie Scarves on the Albert Memorial. (But no -- don't you give him that Rouages or Tahiti.)

Well, I thought I was pretty classy in my giant MT bow with Chasse in India -- it's actually more off-center than it looks here, and I wear the back part of the bow over my shoulder if it seems to be slipping around (easy to fix with a magnet though). The Maxi Twilly is wrapped twice around my neck and the bow is tied to the wrap to keep it from strangling me. Yep, I admit the MT is kind of hard to wear -- glad I only have one.

Yup, bow was not good on me either except for my black Brazil MT on a sleeveless, high neck LBD. I made the bow small and high and tails long and it looked like part of the dress.

For more a more casual look, Try it folded in half length wise and full-length long wrap around the throat from the front (backwards to usual) bring tails to front (a la 1970s skinny scarf) leave open or secure with mors threaded through or other scarf ring. Loos nice on the inside of a blazer. This looks great with any of my 3 (longer) MTs (not sure if I took a pic with CDC MT - I'll check). They're not hard to wear (although a bit hard to wash and iron)

Those of us that bought new/full price we had these little paper instruction cartoons inside the tubes. Anyone still got theirs and can help Joannadyne out by taking a photo of it?
Thanks for the suggestion but I can't quite envision how to tie it... It sounds promising - any excuse to wear the mors ring is great! hopefully someone's got the instruction insert. (Crossing fingers)

Wow, those colours are amazing on you! I'm giggling thinking about what a "pukeworthy" bow might look like ;)
I've been contemplating the maxi-twilly for belting purposes, I think that would be too much silk around my scrawny neck.
Welcome! We're always happy to have newbies on this thread! Ah, I so wish I could carry off the Obi belt look with a maxi twilly. Unfortunately it just made me look shorter and rounder.

I think the way you've tied it is just perfect, Joannadyne. The colors are definitely perfect for you.

Are you finding this knot to be problematic in some way? Does it not stay put? Or is it too long? What about if you would it around your neck a couple of times, and then just tied it in a simple square knot?
Thanks, Elaine! I guess I'm used to having far more pouf, or volume, around my neck and to me, the maxi twilly seems lifeless or droopy. But I think it's more my perception than anything else. I think I just need to get used to the format.

It was very hard to find a flattering cw of CSMC for me too. The pink of your sweater is better on you than and of the colours in that scarf IMO. Find a better cw.

 Wonder if I have the courage to rehome it .. yet to sell anything on ebay.

Here is the little piece of paper inside my maxitwilly for Joannadyne
[ sorry if the pics are kinda of yellow as I am watching my grandkid, over a night light in the bedroom ] :

Trying to contrast it with yellow to match the gold horses...

I get everything you're saying but I do love it with the yellow. In this pic at least, the two colors make each other glow, like light shining through a bouquet of tulips.

Ha, cheers to those of you who love the cherubs. :flowers: For me what I love is the main image, which is all elegant adults, dressed elegantly and adultly, and ... adulting elegantly. Tie it and what do I get? Squirmy nekkid babies.

LOLOL squirmy nekkid babies, you're killing me

I find the subject of this week's scarf viewing to be pretty funny on a personal level. I have buried the ones I don't wear so far down I would need a backhoe to find them in order to take a picture. There is really nothing wrong with any of them except that I don't wear them. The problem is not really that they don't look good on me, but is more of an issue of not wearing the colored clothing required to showcase them. 3 out of 4 are in the brown family and I just never reach for brown. I did try to sell one of them, and even pristine at a reasonable price, it did not move so I concluded that that people don't like to wear brown all that much.

Agreed, but brown's just out of fashion. A few years ago it was hard to find navy and now we can so people are wearing it again.

Is that why I can't find the brown circle skirt of my dreams? At least now I know.

I wear a lot of brown, but I noticed early in my H explorations that brown scarves tended to hang around a long time on the reseller sites. I realized that when I wear all that brown in my wardrobe, I reach for a scarf that contrasts: a rich red or wine color, teal, ivory, potiron. I do tone-on-tone for other neutrals, but brown, not so much. And when I turn to a neutral for a dramatic accent, it's almost always ivory or black. Are others like this too? Does anyone have any insight why?

To be fair, my brown scarf niche is filled to the brim by one scarf, the Mother of All Brown Scarves (or, rather, the Mother-f***er of Brown Scarves, given how sensitive and uncooperative it is): Cavalcadour Au Claire de Lune. Look how beautiful in markova's pics: https://forum.purseblog.com/threads/show-us-your-exceptional-scarves.864042/page-5#post-26621259

CaCdL crowds out all other browns like a fat cuckoo in a wren's nest. I probably shouldn't let it, but the rudeness amuses me, the way a cat's rudeness does.

This thread is on fire tonight! What a fun topic. I am getting a cramp in my hand too, better take a break.

yes- I think I might give that a try, though I still like the idea of it being sort of a tunic looking thing under my vest (just not so long, please!).

I agree on pink with yellow (especially the very non apologetic yellow of that shirt), but I have a brighter pink (did I just say that?) that might be even better.....

I never wore brown. Because my hair had light auburn tones, i wanted to play up that so the preferred color was olive or dark forest green. However, for the past 2-3 seasons, I find that H is pairing blue with tones of brown and to get the blue I have to take the brown. But my brown hair is graying and I find myself liking brown! I used to look good in a smoky quartz color of various brown tones, light to dark, 30 years ago. I'm finally checking out that color again.

Thanks for choosing my outfit for me today eagle. [emoji4]

So what do we think? Better. Not sure so will wear the day and see....

Little voice told me that silver Mors and brown tweed don’t “go” so will try again and with navy blue tomorrow. Have never tried with dark violet either, Ksuromax, but I will.

All my others just seem to work whatever I throw on. Or maybe I’m deluding myself.

IMO the brown color allows the pink scarf to pop. I like the combo a lot.

I think that works beautifully with the tweed Pirula. I love pink and brown together. Also, I regularly wear my tweeds with silver jewellery and think it matches well. Gold somehow seems too refined to me to wear with the chunkiness and solidity of tweed whereas solid silver sets it off better.
I agree about wearing tweeds with silver; the silver corresponds to the sporty nature of tweeds. Gold would be fine but as you say, pautinka, it's a bit too dressy with tweeds. Full steam ahead: let's layer on the silver!!!!! :drinks:

This is my scarf of the day today..,. Because I met Annie Faivre, who is the nicest most down to earth and generous woman. I’m overcome with gratitude.

Twins with you on the Jardin Sintra. That design was a winner for me this season, I have 2; the other is predominately green. The yellow border makes the scarf pop when I wear the same yellow in a blouse and the same green in skirt & jacket & tights. Fortunately I had the clothes for quite some time and didn't have to get anything new.
Congrats on meeting Annie F. Anything you can share about the setting where you met -- her design studio, the primates section in the Paris Zoo :) etc.? And anything else, like how it happened.
