No regrets here despite having lots of taupes, terracotta and some golden yellow: LFaSDV. View attachment 3891607

I don’t have scarf regrets by color since I avoid brown and gold and go for brights. But size regrets, yes!!! I bought a bunch of maxi and regular twillys and never use them. Maxi twillys are just too much fabric and the strangulation factor is too much despite trying some tying tricks. There was a reason H scaled down the maxi twillys! The regular twillys were supposed to go on Lindy handles but just kept getting loose and sloppy. I don’t like twillys around my neck for some reason even with a mors ring. I like more substantial fabric of a 70/90/140 instead. Probably also the reason I don't have more than 4 gavroches!

We all have our faves/miss sizes. I only have 3 MTs but love the size, but I suppose they are a little 'theatrical'. I just wear mine like a reg scarf. My pair of normal twillys are just for handles, I'm sure if I had any more I'd prob just lose them. 140s, (cash mix or pure silk) are the challenge for me but then I'm not practiced. Most of my gavs were bought because there was no choice of bigger.

I really like this scarf - Sieste au Paradis - but... I have a few issues with it.
It has a very large white and gray center and an extremely orange side. I don’t like the center against my skin because I think it makes me look like the walking dead, and the orange side is - well - really bright.
I think I need ideas on folding it?

Maybe fold pleated like a fan?

Ok, I need some help with this scarf. Love this watery fish themed Annie Faivre scarf. To me, this is the best color way of this design, because the water background is a turquoise blue. These are good colors for me.
So what is my problem? I never reach for it, because I think I don't have the right color tops for it.
My usual outfit is a tshirt with a cardigan or jacket.
This picture is with a linen sweater, but I think it is just too much turquoise, plus I don't wear the sweater all that often.
So suggestions on outfits to pair it with are what I am seeking!!!
( I think it would look good with white, but I cannot wear all white on my top half) possibly a white tee plus a colored cardigan, though.

Looking at this I'm already in the Med.

Switch to a tint instead of a pure white tee you can wear in Summer.

pale leaf green
khaki
pale olive
eau de nil
Aqua
pale lavender
shell pink
natural jute
buttermilk

Chuck on with warm dark brown, olive or black jacket and let it pop on cooler days

Ok I promised to explore my MT Brazil this week.

Pros: I have a Hapi 3 in Malachite that matches this, the colors look good on me and with black, or purple (both of which are abundant in my wardrobe), and I love the design.

Cons: It's so looooooong that I find it hard to want to wear in the summer time, though the width of it screams summer use. I find I have "seasonal knots" and "seasonal scarves" and "seasonal knots" FOR the "seasonal scarves" (would that be a fun theme week....)

So here is my go to knot for this to shorten it up. A double wrapped Tod's Knot. Seriously a lot o' scarf around the neck ad great if it's cold out! But if not....no way, Jose!

View attachment 3891892

So I started to play with it, here wrapped more loosely under a favorite low cut jacket (Romeo Gigli that I've had since the 90's...I'm so old....)

View attachment 3891895

But really, it's so long the sane thing to do is start to think of it as "scarf as wardrobe" rather than accessory for summer use. Here tucked in a vest. It's falls below my knees.

View attachment 3891894

I lke this better but don't know if it will stay put. I pulled it up to fluff it out around the vest opening. Imagine I'm wearing a tank top....

Firstly, this colour is so 100% gorgeous on you.

Am I alone in thinking I like this look as MT as 'dress' to your knees? It's add conceptual something to your outfit as it's hard to tell what it is.

Well, I thought I was pretty classy in my giant MT bow with Chasse in India -- it's actually more off-center than it looks here, and I wear the back part of the bow over my shoulder if it seems to be slipping around (easy to fix with a magnet though). The Maxi Twilly is wrapped twice around my neck and the bow is tied to the wrap to keep it from strangling me. Yep, I admit the MT is kind of hard to wear -- glad I only have one.

Nonsense, it looks great here. Perhaps not worth getting strangled for but we all have to suffer for beauty LOL

View attachment 3891984 View attachment 3891986 View attachment 3891987 I pulled out the backhoe and dug up my totally unworn L’art Indiens des Plaines and realized it was full of wonderful blues and it would look great with a jean jacket.

So thank you scarfies for making me pull out the unloved only to rethink my options.

This scarf is wonderful, so glad you're going to wear it

My fail scarf is gorgeous, jut not on me. It was hard to even find a pic, the only one is from the day I got it, worn with an unflattering tee.
It is the very bright Jardin Andalusie. I adored the darker CW Tango Tosca posted when the brighter one popped up at the bay. I was new to H scarves and paid a premium for it . Well, I do like aquatic blues, don't I? But this on is just so bright, so summery, when it would be time to wear it it is to hot to put on anything more than a twilly in the hair. I feel overpowered by it. Now I would never get a scarf with this shades of green, lime and yellow.

Last year the Tango Tosca CW was available somewhere but I decided against it :oh:
And some weeks ago somebody wrote that with all the fruit and scenery it looks like a kitchen towel brought back from the holidays. Can not be unseen!

I should just pull it out of the drawer to brighten up the dull November day!

This is the only scarf that I have that I hum and haw about, my Voyage En Etoffes. I worry that the pastels are draining. Perhaps it is because I am so used to brights and darks. I very rarely wear it.
View attachment 3892499 You can see the difference when you compare it to the brights of my Zenobie

How would the Voyage look on a deep purple top (like the border of that very cool jacket)?

This pastel apricot is a tricky one, my first idea if you really want to hang onto it is that it could look cool in Summer with white . Otherwise I'm stumped ! I can't wear this colour nor pale oranges although strong orange is my best colour.
Thanks froufrou. It may look better with a white tee and a tan to emphasise it. Every time I wear it I just think, "Meh". It is such a learning curve working out what suits!

What a wonderful jacket? Where can I get it?
I seem to have a similar skin tone, light pinks like this do not fit me, but the corals and orange tones help a bit. Altogether a very soft look. The Zenobie CSGM on the other side is a power shawl!
Thank you HoneyLocks. It is by a company called Ness but I bought it a few years ago. Another tweed company that I love is called Walker Slater. They do amazing jackets and coats and may well ship outside of the UK too. Check out their website!
I agree with you re Zenobie - it is a statement in itself.I love it.

It IS gorgeous HoneyLocks! Maybe a different coloured top would highlight the other colours? It always amazes me how chameleon-like our scarves can be. I think it is maybe the lime top which is underplaying the beauty of it. x
