Eagle was SPOT ON. This looks great with your tweed jacket, Pirula! And YASSSS to the red, too!
Thank you Joannadyne! I have brown tweed on the mind b/c I have two such jackets in the same collarless, 3/4 sleeve spare style. But no scarves for them! I gotta work on that b/c I'm trying to wear work clothes I've not paid attention to,"Make [them] work" in a Tim Gunn Project Runway sort of way. Cheers!

Ok, I'm ready to play! So I also made the "filling a hole in my collection" move and bought a maxi twilly at the last sale. I haven't reached for it since I bought it. I don't know why. I just might not be a maxi twilly person. I played around with it today and here it is. I think it's OK. I think part of my problem is not knowing how to tie it so I like it. I tried a giant bow and it was pukeworthy.
This scarf should work for you, could your lipstick be changed to, oh, maybe a clear red? I always think your makeup goes splendidly with your scarves but with this one, not so much. Maybe the red of the scarf is not working? I just don't know but I do know you wear purples magnificently. And really harmonious makeup with them. I admire you for knowing how to do that so well.

Well, I thought I was pretty classy in my giant MT bow with Chasse in India -- it's actually more off-center than it looks here, and I wear the back part of the bow over my shoulder if it seems to be slipping around (easy to fix with a magnet though). The Maxi Twilly is wrapped twice around my neck and the bow is tied to the wrap to keep it from strangling me. Yep, I admit the MT is kind of hard to wear -- glad I only have one.

I get everything you're saying but I do love it with the yellow. In this pic at least, the two colors make each other glow, like light shining through a bouquet of tulips.

LOLOL squirmy nekkid babies, you're killing me

Is that why I can't find the brown circle skirt of my dreams? At least now I know.

I wear a lot of brown, but I noticed early in my H explorations that brown scarves tended to hang around a long time on the reseller sites. I realized that when I wear all that brown in my wardrobe, I reach for a scarf that contrasts: a rich red or wine color, teal, ivory, potiron. I do tone-on-tone for other neutrals, but brown, not so much. And when I turn to a neutral for a dramatic accent, it's almost always ivory or black. Are others like this too? Does anyone have any insight why?

To be fair, my brown scarf niche is filled to the brim by one scarf, the Mother of All Brown Scarves (or, rather, the Mother-f***er of Brown Scarves, given how sensitive and uncooperative it is): Cavalcadour Au Claire de Lune. Look how beautiful in markova's pics: https://forum.purseblog.com/threads/show-us-your-exceptional-scarves.864042/page-5#post-26621259

CaCdL crowds out all other browns like a fat cuckoo in a wren's nest. I probably shouldn't let it, but the rudeness amuses me, the way a cat's rudeness does.

This thread is on fire tonight! What a fun topic. I am getting a cramp in my hand too, better take a break.

Markova's scarf is wonderful, I wish I had it to wear with my funky muted reddish-brown-mauve top. Markova's scarf shows that there's brown and then there's Brown! Her brown has pretty undertones to it, it's not a flat soil color.

I like squirmy nekkid babies. It will be #2 on my wishlist, right after Joannadyne's angel booty. I think it's time to hint to DS that I would like some grandbabies

That Mother****** of Brown Scarves is gorgeous!!!!! I don't know how how it looks IRL but markova's pics make me think of butter-soft leather!:faint:

Thanks, Elaine! I guess I'm used to having far more pouf, or volume, around my neck and to me, the maxi twilly seems lifeless or droopy. But I think it's more my perception than anything else. I think I just need to get used to the format.
I like the way you've tied it, Joannadyne. With respect to "volume", I found a nice modeling shot by xiangxiang0731 in old Maxi twilly, Maxi Happiness! thread (you will find MYH's amazing pics there as well): https://forum.purseblog.com/threads/maxi-twilly-maxi-happiness.835849/page-2

Million thanks - I know exactly where the meet up will take place - am actually going to London next Wednesday so will def make it - you will recognise me bearing and wearing gold and my last spectacularly wrong buy - a very bright turqoise moussie. To add insult to injury I love real YG and a major reason for visiting is to see the Scythians exhibition at BM - go figure
Just googled the exhibit - lots of scope for a scarf on site! Have fun!

This is the only scarf that I have that I hum and haw about, my Voyage En Etoffes. I worry that the pastels are draining. Perhaps it is because I am so used to brights and darks. I very rarely wear it.

What a wonderful jacket? Where can I get it?
I seem to have a similar skin tone, light pinks like this do not fit me, but the corals and orange tones help a bit. Altogether a very soft look. The Zenobie CSGM on the other side is a power shawl!

I don't have any 'what was I thinking?' scarves I'm not sure about or don't like, unless you apply it the other way, as in 'what was I thinking? - I should have bought all the cws of La Femme au Semelles du Vents, Zabavushka, Quintessence and Pegase d'Hermes

I go through phases though, but I know I do, so sometimes scarves have to take a rest for a while. I also don't buy many pre-loved unless they really are an HG (including cw) which minimises near-misses or the temptation of a good deal.

Anyway if you can spot it SOTD- yesterday camouflaged in my new velvet floral suit (DH's early Christmas present) Into the Canadian Wild by AS. The black and white photo was not my idea but still better than a selfie by me.

This pastel apricot is a tricky one, my first idea if you really want to hang onto it is that it could look cool in Summer with white . Otherwise I'm stumped ! I can't wear this colour nor pale oranges although strong orange is my best colour.
