I’m thinking that we should open an orphanage for these poor unwanted scarves. Sad to think of the time and effort that went into designing them and that they were born with colors we cannot use or just don’t like anymore in some cases. Perhaps adoption, if possible, is the only answer

It is such a good cause - however I've already decided to bedeck the Albert Memorial with my adoptees, ref earlier post
:-)

Ok, I need some help with this scarf. Love this watery fish themed Annie Faivre scarf. To me, this is the best color way of this design, because the water background is a turquoise blue. These are good colors for me.
So what is my problem? I never reach for it, because I think I don't have the right color tops for it.
My usual outfit is a tshirt with a cardigan or jacket.
This picture is with a linen sweater, but I think it is just too much turquoise, plus I don't wear the sweater all that often.
So suggestions on outfits to pair it with are what I am seeking!!!
( I think it would look good with white, but I cannot wear all white on my top half) possibly a white tee plus a colored cardigan, though.

What about still the same sort of blue green but lighter or darker in tone? Or like others say, try one of the other colors in it and see where that goes....If you don't like an all white top with it....how about stripes? :) Stripes fix everything!

Ok I promised to explore my MT Brazil this week.

Pros: I have a Hapi 3 in Malachite that matches this, the colors look good on me and with black, or purple (both of which are abundant in my wardrobe), and I love the design.

Cons: It's so looooooong that I find it hard to want to wear in the summer time, though the width of it screams summer use. I find I have "seasonal knots" and "seasonal scarves" and "seasonal knots" FOR the "seasonal scarves" (would that be a fun theme week....)

So here is my go to knot for this to shorten it up. A double wrapped Tod's Knot. Seriously a lot o' scarf around the neck ad great if it's cold out! But if not....no way, Jose!

View attachment 3891892

So I started to play with it, here wrapped more loosely under a favorite low cut jacket (Romeo Gigli that I've had since the 90's...I'm so old....)

View attachment 3891895

But really, it's so long the sane thing to do is start to think of it as "scarf as wardrobe" rather than accessory for summer use. Here tucked in a vest. It's falls below my knees.

View attachment 3891894

I lke this better but don't know if it will stay put. I pulled it up to fluff it out around the vest opening. Imagine I'm wearing a tank top....

Ha! I hear you on the length, but Brazil is such an amazing design! The feathers are spectacular! And this cw is gorgeous. Wearing as a “blouson” tied halter top style and at the waist underneath a jacket may be an option.

Thank you! Yes- Exploring the halter top option might be good for this (and maybe give me excuses for others then since they will be "clothes" not scarves. )

Just a quick visit in answer to @eagle1002us - I am still around! I have not posted for a while because I haven’t bought any new H scarves for ages and also my small collection has really had enough airing. There really are limits to posting the same scarves over and over again.

I am also seriously ill now and getting worse. I only manage to leave the house once a week if I am lucky and mostly stay in bed. I do post on my blog and Instagram regularly, though. My present obsession is with growing out my dyed hair and embracing the grey now that I am 61. It has been cut short and I am documenting the changes .

Here is my “not really sure” scarf: Au Coeur de la Vie. I bought this colourway as I loved the colours of the plants and animals. But the bright yellow border is almost a neon shade! I also don’t care for the very centre. If I manage to tie it right, then it looks OK, especially with navy on a Summer’s day. This is an old archive photo so it is a bit blurry...

Here is a photo from Spring this year...

I think the colors are amazing! But I see what you mean about that thick neon yellow. Hope recovery is on the way for you!

I love, love Pani La Shar Pawnee and went thru a period of orange scarves. Once that period was over (ohh, about a few years ago:smile:) I realized that this cw just does not go with anything I usually wear (except white tee). I have since got more Pani in different cw, but just cannot let go of this one.....maybe I will frame him:idea:
This mod shot is from the last time I wore him.
I’m an orange lover so this may be a biased opinion, but it looks stunning on you!

Ok, I'm ready to play! So I also made the "filling a hole in my collection" move and bought a maxi twilly at the last sale. I haven't reached for it since I bought it. I don't know why. I just might not be a maxi twilly person. I played around with it today and here it is. I think it's OK. I think part of my problem is not knowing how to tie it so I like it. I tried a giant bow and it was pukeworthy.

Well, I thought I was pretty classy in my giant MT bow with Chasse in India -- it's actually more off-center than it looks here, and I wear the back part of the bow over my shoulder if it seems to be slipping around (easy to fix with a magnet though). The Maxi Twilly is wrapped twice around my neck and the bow is tied to the wrap to keep it from strangling me. Yep, I admit the MT is kind of hard to wear -- glad I only have one.

Well here’s mine. I love the design and it has sentimental value due to its Opera Garner theme. But...

The pink feels too sweet and the hits of brown, orange and red don’t cut the sweetness.

It never ties nicely, you can never see the pretty bits enough.

I now have the pink Pegase which is more sophisticated so I reach for it when I want pink.

Looks better on the bed than it does on me.

Does she stay or does she go? Perhaps try harder. Can’t remember last time I wore it:

Well, I’m not a pink lover, but this is gorgeous. I just love the beige and brown painterly design against the pink. I don’t think I would tire of this scarf. But I hear ya...

Hmm, stripes. I have mostly navy and white stripes, also grey and white. Just remembered I have a fuschia and white stripe that might work. Currently traveling, so away from home .

Brazil is a design with which I've had no luck. One is a Brazil II 90. The colours of the feathers are glorious, but there is so much blank space in the design and on the borders that it is quite difficult to tie without showing wide expanses of chocolate brown. I'm not giving up on it yet...

The other Brazil is a pareo. The US seller took her photos under a warm orange light which totally changed the cw of the cotton. The mauve and green practically vanished. It looked mainly butter yellow and tangerine orange. I could have done a SNAD but it cost too much to ship it back. And the feigned ignorance of her replies to my messages led me to believe that she wasn't an honest seller and I would be asking for trouble if I did a return. So yes, a confirmed candidate for re-homing once I actually take the time to figure out how to sell it (or maybe I'll just go the consignment route).
The problems I have with it: I'm not a fan of the muddy mauve background colour, the mauve-viridian-yellow-orange colour palette is out of my comfort zone, and since I prefer smaller formats, if I'm going to manhandle swathes of material, the extra effort should be for a cw I actually like. That said, this is my SOTD since I decided that I should actually wear it again to see if there are any redeeming factors.

I must admit that I’m not crazy about this cw either, but the feathers of Brazil are SO glorious!! And Inalso feel the same about the “blank” spaces, although the one Brazil I own is in the most incredible red and I adore red and that makes a difference. I try to fanagle silk to maximize feather views!

Yup, bow was not good on me either except for my black Brazil MT on a sleeveless, high neck LBD. I made the bow small and high and tails long and it looked like part of the dress.

For more a more casual look, Try it folded in half length wise and full-length long wrap around the throat from the front (backwards to usual) bring tails to front (a la 1970s skinny scarf) leave open or secure with mors threaded through or other scarf ring. Loos nice on the inside of a blazer. This looks great with any of my 3 (longer) MTs (not sure if I took a pic with CDC MT - I'll check). They're not hard to wear (although a bit hard to wash and iron)

Those of us that bought new/full price we had these little paper instruction cartoons inside the tubes. Anyone still got theirs and can help Joannadyne out by taking a photo of it?

Thanks for choosing my outfit for me today eagle. [emoji4]

So what do we think? Better. Not sure so will wear the day and see....

Little voice told me that silver Mors and brown tweed don’t “go” so will try again and with navy blue tomorrow. Have never tried with dark violet either, Ksuromax, but I will.

All my others just seem to work whatever I throw on. Or maybe I’m deluding myself.

Gorgeous with the brown jacket! You see? I loved the beige and brown in the center design and they are brought nicely paired with these colors! The pink is delicious against this!

BIG Thank you for all your likings to my previous posting.

Here is my "what was I thinking" - A Cheval sur mon Carre". I went for it during those times when pink was my favorite color .. maybe still ?? The pink border, those pink horseshoes ...:heart::heart::heart: BUT this scarf stays mainly in the box.

Now I am seriously thinking if I should re-home it. :-sView attachment 3891129

It was very hard to find a flattering cw of CSMC for me too. The pink of your sweater is better on you than and of the colours in that scarf IMO. Find a better cw.

I have nothing neg to say about you in this scarf, looks wonderful. Just bring it out when you wear a white tee, sorted.

I'm being blunt so forgive me but I think the problem is in both cases the background colour, you don't appear suit the muddy colours. It's a shame because the other colours in the scarves look great.
