Ok, I need some help with this scarf. Love this watery fish themed Annie Faivre scarf. To me, this is the best color way of this design, because the water background is a turquoise blue. These are good colors for me.
So what is my problem? I never reach for it, because I think I don't have the right color tops for it.
My usual outfit is a tshirt with a cardigan or jacket.
This picture is with a linen sweater, but I think it is just too much turquoise, plus I don't wear the sweater all that often.
So suggestions on outfits to pair it with are what I am seeking!!!
( I think it would look good with white, but I cannot wear all white on my top half) possibly a white tee plus a colored cardigan, though.

Beautiful scarf but a tough puzzle! I am also looking forward to the scarfie suggestions!

Ok, I'm ready to play! So I also made the "filling a hole in my collection" move and bought a maxi twilly at the last sale. I haven't reached for it since I bought it. I don't know why. I just might not be a maxi twilly person. I played around with it today and here it is. I think it's OK. I think part of my problem is not knowing how to tie it so I like it. I tried a giant bow and it was pukeworthy.

Wow, those colours are amazing on you! I'm giggling thinking about what a "pukeworthy" bow might look like ;)
I've been contemplating the maxi-twilly for belting purposes, I think that would be too much silk around my scrawny neck.

If I were blessed to have this beauty in my scarf drawer, I'd pair it with a purple sheath dress (I already own) as its a spot on match for the violet notes. Second choice, looped around the neck of a dark denim shirt- I think the contrast would be great!

This is a gorgeous scarf, but I agree that with the turquoise top it's just too much turquoise.
How about a white tee and then either a burgundy or cherry-red cardigan, to pick up the little bits of burgundy/red in the center part of the scarf?

I think the way you've tied it is just perfect, Joannadyne. The colors are definitely perfect for you.

Are you finding this knot to be problematic in some way? Does it not stay put? Or is it too long? What about if you would it around your neck a couple of times, and then just tied it in a simple square knot?

OMG this suit is HAPPINESS

PS: I meant to say that I actually like this scarf on you quite a bit. The color of the border is what I was hoping I would get in my Au de la cinq mers but didn't.

You're in! We meet on Wednesdays in Hyde Park, where we take our revenge on giant-gold-things-with-big-borders by tying unflattering scarves on the Albert Memorial.

Million thanks - I know exactly where the meet up will take place - am actually going to London next Wednesday so will def make it - you will recognise me bearing and wearing gold and my last spectacularly wrong buy - a very bright turqoise moussie. To add insult to injury I love real YG and a major reason for visiting is to see the Scythians exhibition at BM - go figure

I love, love Pani La Shar Pawnee and went thru a period of orange scarves. Once that period was over (ohh, about a few years ago:smile:) I realized that this cw just does not go with anything I usually wear (except white tee). I have since got more Pani in different cw, but just cannot let go of this one.....maybe I will frame him:idea:
This mod shot is from the last time I wore him.

From what I can see in this picture you look great with it - love it against the crisp white! If it is the amount if orange that jars - could you possibly tie it to show less of that - it is just too beautiful to be set free:-)

Ok I promised to explore my MT Brazil this week.

Pros: I have a Hapi 3 in Malachite that matches this, the colors look good on me and with black, or purple (both of which are abundant in my wardrobe), and I love the design.

Cons: It's so looooooong that I find it hard to want to wear in the summer time, though the width of it screams summer use. I find I have "seasonal knots" and "seasonal scarves" and "seasonal knots" FOR the "seasonal scarves" (would that be a fun theme week....)

So here is my go to knot for this to shorten it up. A double wrapped Tod's Knot. Seriously a lot o' scarf around the neck ad great if it's cold out! But if not....no way, Jose!

So I started to play with it, here wrapped more loosely under a favorite low cut jacket (Romeo Gigli that I've had since the 90's...I'm so old....)

But really, it's so long the sane thing to do is start to think of it as "scarf as wardrobe" rather than accessory for summer use. Here tucked in a vest. It's falls below my knees.

I lke this better but don't know if it will stay put. I pulled it up to fluff it out around the vest opening. Imagine I'm wearing a tank top....:)

I find the subject of this week's scarf viewing to be pretty funny on a personal level. I have buried the ones I don't wear so far down I would need a backhoe to find them in order to take a picture. There is really nothing wrong with any of them except that I don't wear them. The problem is not really that they don't look good on me, but is more of an issue of not wearing the colored clothing required to showcase them. 3 out of 4 are in the brown family and I just never reach for brown. I did try to sell one of them, and even pristine at a reasonable price, it did not move so I concluded that that people don't like to wear brown all that much.

I'll trade all my mistake turqoise ones for your browns :-) - I am sooo slow on the uptake, making the same mistake repeatedly, no excuse apart from them looking so good in the evil bay pictures and probably under a stark California sun - not so much in Northern Europe's darken winter days.

While we're on the subject of orange, which I do like when it's paired with the right colors:

I've talked about this scarf before, how I chose it for the center designs and ignored the orange, then tried every way I could to hide the border (despite the fact that the contrast hem is lavender!) It's a kind of a love-it-or-hate-it scarf, I find.
Then I found it in another color, and the blue border and peach hem goes much better with what I wear...but it's a little dull compared to the other one (probably the brown/beige center)

I'm pretty happy with the blue, but I kind of miss that lavender contrast hem -- again, the two-point knot to the rescue:

Maybe I'm not quite ready to give either of them up...
I actually prefer the orange, but then, I always steer toward orange, red and the warmer shades. They actually both look beautiful on you. And I love the lavender contrast hem in the orange!
