Yellow is a tricky colour for me. Being of Chinese descent, my skin has a yellow undertone, so yellow, bronze, gold etc have a good chance of making me look sallow. I favour a banana yellow.

I didn't like orange very much. But H likes to issue sp eds in orange. Then when I started wearing my orange scarves, I discovered that they are really a dream to wear.

I’ll have time to catch up on the weekend.
Acte III scène I today, as it cooled down a bit suddenly! Happy ‘almost weekend’, dear Scarflandia 🌹🙌

So beautiful with your outfit (and your hair!) @Helena7.
Hello,
Orange is not my very best friend. I know that it is complementary to blue, in my case blue eyes, but since my hair changed from chestnut to grey I have to be careful what shade of orange I wear, the bold ones tend to make me very pale. Of course I could change that by wearing makeup but I don't, not even tinted day care, only a good day cream. But I wear lipstick or more precisely mostly lip gloss. This orange suits me well I think and of course the design is my very favourite one, Jaguar Quetzal.View attachment 6162877
I would say, this is a nice improvement because 1. Scarves tend to weigh less and take less packing space than books so you can pack quite a few in comparison and 2. You can now read AND wear a variety of scarves which seems to me a huge improvement in life quality.😄 All you have shown is beautiful but the Samourai shawl on the green patterned blouse is TDF, a very very clever mixing.😍
Well, you look marvelous @darkstar66. Me, I need the tinted but it is all I wear other than lipstick these days. Thank you for the Samouraïs compliment. The blouse is a collab that helps women who escaped from trafficking so I am happy to support a cause through fashion! I love your relationship to your Jaguar, too...
I am behind again but loving the rainbow of colours this week 🌈 💖

Today I am wearing pink, my favourite colour, again 😀 Les Mustangs II

Happy weekend everyone!
Always beautiful on you @redheaddem!
Not wearing per se, but so excited by my new Luxury Bag LED Scarf display. I love that I can utilize my scarves as artwork in my home now! I wish I got it sooner. Today’s display is my Grand Tralala workshop 90. I just love the special dying technique they used on this one.

Amazingly beautiful scarf and I too am looking at this for a room re-do I plan on next year @LolaWhisp.
My orange contribution today is from the archives. Most orange scarf ever 😂. Never thought I’d go for something like this. Thanks and credit goes to MrBelle!

Actual SOTD is Index P and some adventurous pattern mixing. Will take and post a pic later, if I can find a moment! If my courage wanes, it may end up on my bag or in my hair :shrugs:
I'd love to see the Index P adventure @Lellabelle! Plz don't chicken out on us! I love that Grand Tralala on you.
Another look for Botanica Grafica on this Friday. We have violet, lilac, duck egg blue, blue green and, that old non-colour stand by, white. This is a fun scarf to wear.

View attachment 6162965
Glorious on your perfectly matched t-shirt and thank you for reminding me of the marvelous color "duck egg blue" @CoastalCouture!
You look smashing on vaca @LKBNOLA! Loving your look. :yahoo:

It’s already Friday of Color Week already and I’m just catching up! Perhaps I’ll have some archived photos to post as I am away from most of my scarves.

I spent this morning with my tablet catching up on last week’s delightful posts while watching the sunrise from my perch in the San Juan Islands. Many thanks to @Lellabelle for hosting what was a very interesting and enjoyable dive into Power Scarves! I had more to contribute, but other parts of life took over…I really loved the sub-themes and everyone’s mod shots and conversation.
Thank you and your "sartorial memory lane" of pink blazer and boots made me smile @CedarWaxWing!

I hear you about both yellow and orange @xincinsin. My current orange crush is "cuit" -- just love the soft, slightly terracotta shading of it. Your SE H en Bias reminds me of how fun The Central Park Gates exhibit was to live with! Just a few weeks but so special. There was an entrance not far from our apartment we passed through every day. I learned to call it "saffron" :winkiss:

A photo from a few weeks ago as it is a too hot today for cashmere.

I had long admired this orange rust Pavement CSGM on @Croisette7, who said it was one of her H.G. (and that says a lot!!!). I had never seen it anywhere else. Then I found it badly listed on TRR, different cws on the flat and modeled pics...I took a chance and am so glad I did!

View attachment 6162985
Gorgeous! I am glad you took a chance on this too @FA73-- congratulations on such a find. I love it paired with your buttery leather jacket....
These two orange scarves are in my collection only because they are limited editions. First is the Breitling edition of Reves d'Espace.

Ok, so I popped on at 31, 695 feet to share a compliment but I got distracted with all the rainbow beauty this morning! But quick before the spotty internet goes out, I will share because where else do we come with our scarf-related joy? Today my Thalassa shawl got remarks from airport security Clear agent, gate agent and, as I was sitting down for a coffee the waitress said, "Coolest shawl, ever!" And then, for lagniappe and best of all as she was leaving a young woman came by and said, "Excuse me. Just had to tell you that your whole outfit/ensemble today is "travel goals" for me." I was so chuffed to hear it! Really put a dent in my OWIQ (Older Woman Invisibility Quotient) and made me smile. Of course, I texted DH and my DDs and a few friends plus all y'all on TPF!

A very beautiful shade of orange on you @darkstar66 ! Isn't Jaguar Quetzal just dreamy - in any colorway it is dazzling. And this soft orange one is so warm and cozy looking.

I haven't posted in a while, although I do catch up on reading this thread. The pics here are just amazing. Life has been hectic, and I never remember to take pictures of what I'm wearing. But I bought a new scarf today at a local consignment store—and it's on topic! Whee!

It's Le Mors a la Conetable in a very colorful colorway. I have done some research but haven't been able to pin down when it was issued. I know there were multiple issue years. I think it has to be the early 2000s due to the care tag and the price tag ($275!!). I got it at an excellent price, and I'm sure it's never been worn. Does anyone know when Neiman Marcus stopped selling Hermes? Or when scarves cost $275?! That was way before my time collecting. :)IMG_7011.webpIMG_7004.webpIMG_7003.webp

Following in my twin @Redbirdhermes’ footsteps today for yellow. And what a happy, sunny yellow it is!

View attachment 6162687

@Lellabelle I love this vivid, pure yellow and its companion colours against your white jacket. A surefire way to handle those brights.

I wore this Les clés bandana in my hair but couldn’t take a picture. The woven in dots and subtly dotted hems are charming.View attachment 6162726

@Maedi Wow, this a really special scarf! What a great find.

@Helena7 this Act III is rich and detailed. A beautiful look!

I am heading down to New Orleans this week to host a few dear friends for Jazz Fest this year. The weather will be in the high 80s and my activities range from hot and dusty Fair Ground music venues to chilly restaurants, a benefit, a board meeting and more! So I have packed an array of things. Back in the day before Kindles and EBooks, I used to travel with a big bag of books (wanted options, wanted to always have something to read). Now I travel with a tiny Kindle reader and a bag full of scarves (want the options, always want something to wear)
But I wanted to complete my ROYBGIV before the theme week ends so here are my remaining colors from archive or recent shots:
Orange: Flaneries à Versailles-- my first orange H scarf, a souvenir of a mother-daughter trip
View attachment 6162731View attachment 6162732
Indigo: My only indigo scarf, Ors Bleu d'Afrique
View attachment 6162734View attachment 6162735
Violet: With huge appreciation to @Croisette7, @Living.la.vida.fifi and @Nomad for the inspiration to hunt this beauty and to @LeneCPH for the powerful assist and enablement, Parures de Samouraïs (cw10).

My DH is not a big fan of pattern mixing (he makes an exception for stripes) so this is my planned SOTE. Thank you for letting me complete my rainbow!

@xincinsin Thank you for sharing all of your yellow and orange. It shows me not to rule out a color because I don't wear it often. Like many others, I have trouble with yellow but, I think I may need to reconsider orange

I'm not sure where to post this, so I'm putting it here. I happened into a new consignment shop when I was out doing errands today and came across this beauty, Jungle Love on bumble bee jacquard silk. I took a good look at it but, left it there for someone else. I'm trying to stand firm in my conviction not to buy something I cannot wear no matter how rare it is.
