Ok, so I popped on at 31, 695 feet to share a compliment but I got distracted with all the rainbow beauty this morning! But quick before the spotty internet goes out, I will share because where else do we come with our scarf-related joy? Today my Thalassa shawl got remarks from airport security Clear agent, gate agent and, as I was sitting down for a coffee the waitress said, "Coolest shawl, ever!" And then, for lagniappe and best of all as she was leaving a young woman came by and said, "Excuse me. Just had to tell you that your whole outfit/ensemble today is "travel goals" for me." I was so chuffed to hear it! Really put a dent in my OWIQ (Older Woman Invisibility Quotient) and made me smile. Of course, I texted DH and my DDs and a few friends plus all y'all on TPF!
Here's a photo of what she liked!

Your Thalassa is so cool @LKBNOLA . I have serious envy here. You look stunning!

I'm not sure where to post this, so I'm putting it here. I happened into a new consignment shop when I was out doing errands today and came across this beauty, Jungle Love on bumble bee jacquard silk. I took a good look at it but, left it there for someone else. I'm trying to stand firm in my conviction not to buy something I cannot wear no matter how rare it is.

It’s a beauty but if you won’t wear it then you made the right decision!

Love your expression OWIQ (Old Woman Invisibility Quotient) - this is exactly how I feel sometimes.
Oh, & you look great!
I too inspire to look put together like you for travel - but usually end up wearing trek pants & shirts & sports bra for the comfort & zippered pockets (holds passport, glasses when sleeping & other & stuff) on long hauls.

Let's go for Indigo today!

The H indigo for leather is dull dark blue that can appear almost black. Luckily the H indigo for scarves is much brighter. Inspired by @Lellabelle right at the tail end of 2024, I finally took the plunge and bought the indigo fonce cw of Three Graces :girlshocked:
:whiteflag::whiteflag::whiteflag:

I haven't worn it yet as the weather is dreary right now (flash floods!), but I am totally loving it

Interesting factoid about indigo, scientists who studied Newton's work believe that his usage of "indigo" equates to our modern "blue", and Newton's "blue" was our "cyan". Well, that really opens up the field for me tomorrow, doesn't it? (thinks hard - do I have any scarves in cyan?)

On my merry way towards blue in either sense of the word, allow me to introduce a wonderful bright blue that is my fave as well as kissing cousins with indigo. H produced several scarves that had Klein blue in the listed cw.

This is Charmes des Plages Normandes in bleu marine and bleu klein. The two shades of blue (you can see them in the close-up) are equally intense.
View attachment 6161039
Klein blue is a vivid blue that reminds me of lapis lazuli. Another fun fact: this intensely blue semi-precious stone was ground up in ancient times to be made into the pigment ultramarine.

Maitres de la foret with a base so bright and so blue that one reseller described it as purple (ultraviolet?)

Urashima Taro has an amazing blue border :hbeat:
View attachment 6161042
And lastly, the limited ed cw of Wild Singapore uses a brilliant blue as an accent colour. I can assure you that our mangrove swamps do not look like an alien landscape

@xincinsin All of these are delightful, especially your gorgeous new Three Graces like @Lellabelle's and that LE Wild Singapore is transcendant in that colorway - I always love when you show it!
I woke up this morning on the other side of the country. Not a lot of sleep happened on the old red-eye flight but, I thought I'd take a stab at wearing one of the scarves I brought with me. This one has all the colours, so I'm covering all my bases! I'll need to learn to take outdoor photos earlier in the day. Here we have Brandebourgs Fleuris:

We are twins, @CoastalCouture! I put BF on this week, but then ended up changing my outfit entirely, so hopefully it will drape around my neck soon! It looks beautiful on you!! Such wonderful colors!
Off topic but wanted to include my Patronus photos (owl). SOTD is Into the Canadian Wild - the dark one - bought this because the sky reminded of the wonderful milky way at night with no light pollution when camping in the Canadian North. Bonus photo of a snowy owl we took on an "owl prowl" several years ago. Alas no sightings this year when we went. [& yes, it's SNOWING in the background.

Love the owls on these, @shrpthorn and we are sisters on both scarves! Is the border on your Tsitsika black or more of a navy?
Hello, my second Grands Fonds today, I think it has some sparkles of Yves Klein blue. But even if not, it is my most loved Annie Faivre design.View attachment 6161433View attachment 6161434View attachment 6161435
Such luscious colors on you, @darkstar66!
For today I'm sharing yellow for the Y in ROYGBIV. Yellow with blue is a classic pairing. I believe this is my one and only yellow scarf!

View attachment 6161538
Oh YES!!! This is wonderful yellow on you @EtsyBoss and the deep purple (or is it blue?) top serves as the perfect foil for it!
Jumping in here briefly, I’ll have to catch up later. 😅😅Scarf of the day - Precious Paradise

That is SUCH a pretty colorway of this design @Helena7! Perfect on you!
Seven Days for Seven Colors! My Thalassa scarf had some pretty persuasive pops of Yellow and I've posted Blue. I am going to call my SOYE for Red(ish) on account of the line drawing on the marron glacé background, amped up my my coral sweater. We had some lovely friends and their two dogs over for a travel catch-up dinner (they have recently returned from a wine tour in France). So we had four adults and four "doodle" variations... madness. But fun! My scarf tie looked pretty for a photo and it became dog-and-kitchen* friendly! I tied the tails behind my neck for some silk protection (alas no knot shot)! Here's my updated ROYBGIV score...
Please Hold the Line (10) marron glacé/rouge/noir

*I was remembering your Cautionary Tale of the Exploding Chicken @Teaforparrots!
Oh no! FOUR doodlesque canines at once @LKBNOLA? And only four humans? That is not a safe ratio IMO. 🤣 Fish paté on the floor and on the back of one of the pooches? :lol:When we have our two Portugese Water Dogs together (the sibling to ours lives close by) it can be absolute mayhem :wtf:until they wear each other out and have to take a break. As far as exploding chickens a la @Teaforparrots, I can often be seen in the kitchen or walking around my office after lunch with my scarf still turned backward, tales down my back.
Managing to hit green today with Alice Shirley’s Under the Waves. My most green scarf overall, and attempting to feature the green turtle.

Just gorgeous, @Jereni. Again. ♥️
Well, my actual SOTD was worn by request of a lovely scarfie I met for tea today! We never stopped talking, had a show and share of scarves and some mutual enablement may just have transpired over the scones and clotted cream...

Couldn't figure out how @EtsyBoss artfully gets her bags in her mod shots, so I resorted to a mirror selfie:

And I am here to attest that @CoastalCouture's sewing and design skills are absolutely amazing. Her dress was beautiful and she was double-scarved! We shared a lot of geography, years, life stories, silk journeys and barely scratched the surface...
@LKBNOLA Well, you can add me to the list of those you have enabled with this cw of Passades et Serpentines GT. The first one arrived but had some inking errors on it, so I sent it back and just received my replacement which I wore Wednesday night out to dinner. It looks fabulous with your white jacket! And I love how the color of your Picotin picks up the orange in the scarf!
@LKBNOLA I am so touched by your flattery. It was a most delightful afternoon.

Scarifies, we had no problem at all spotting each other and got right to the business of chatting, visiting, covering lots of topics, having cream teas and sandwiches, trying on scarves, and then still having even more to say as we headed back to our cars. So much fun. 5 stars!
@CoastalCouture and @LKBNOLA - How absolutely wonderful it is to read about your rendezvous and to see the photo of you together! Beautiful scarves on gorgeous women! The smiles on your faces really conveys your joy. And that you had so much to converse about - just delightful! This brings a big smile to my face and a warm glow to my heart. :yahoo:
For @Lellabelle and thanks to @darkstar66 for the inspiration, I gave my green Tigre Royal a go with a neutral oatmeal background. I like it!

Puppers came by to see what I was doing and held still long enough for a photo, such a good girl. Health-wise she is hanging in there and doing well. Our focus can thankfully now be more on continuing good canine behavior and house, yard, and walk rules. There's so much for her to learn as we make up for lost time.

* Light and color are fascinating. No editing to make my sweater look two different colors. Left is natural light coming in through a window, right is indoor lighting.
Agree! @EtsyBoss The lighting thing really is amazing, and the scarf is gorgeous, especially that way you have styled it (I have it in two other cw's but not this one, and I remember it being a bit hard to find the green when it came out). But the soulful eyes of your pup is stealing the show here! I'm so glad she is doing so much better and she is absolutely adorable!
Green ... I am sorta kinda friends with green. My problem is green does not always love me back  Some of my vintage scarves are in this bright shade of viridian green. It doesn't 100% suit me but I can get by in it. Maybe I should try a retro green eye shadow or green lipstick a la Rihanna in 2012!

@xincinsin I have come very close to acquiring that cw of L'Egide de Mars! It is really compelling! And we are twins on the sage Precious Paradise. :hbeat:

You look glamorous, @LKBNOLA! Hedy Lamarr glamorous!

I'm thinking of making bag charms for my friends as a Christmas gift. I'll have to start soon...
I haven't posted in a while, although I do catch up on reading this thread. The pics here are just amazing. Life has been hectic, and I never remember to take pictures of what I'm wearing. But I bought a new scarf today at a local consignment store—and it's on topic! Whee!

It's Le Mors a la Conetable in a very colorful colorway. I have done some research but haven't been able to pin down when it was issued. I know there were multiple issue years. I think it has to be the early 2000s due to the care tag and the price tag ($275!!). I got it at an excellent price, and I'm sure it's never been worn. Does anyone know when Neiman Marcus stopped selling Hermes? Or when scarves cost $275?! That was way before my time collecting. :)View attachment 6163071View attachment 6163072View attachment 6163073
I'm jealous of women I've never met who bought H scarves at $275 possibly when I was a toddler
@xincinsin Thank you for sharing all of your yellow and orange. It shows me not to rule out a color because I don't wear it often. Like many others, I have trouble with yellow but, I think I may need to reconsider orange
Sometimes when a colour is iffy for me but, due to various reasons/excuses/justifications/sheer greed, I gotta have that scarf , I wear it under a collared shirt to provide a strip of complimentary colour next to my face.
@xincinsin I have come very close to acquiring that cw of L'Egide de Mars! It is really compelling! And we are twins on the sage Precious Paradise. :hbeat:
The L'Egide in green is fabulous!

I am heading down to New Orleans this week to host a few dear friends for Jazz Fest this year. The weather will be in the high 80s and my activities range from hot and dusty Fair Ground music venues to chilly restaurants, a benefit, a board meeting and more! So I have packed an array of things. Back in the day before Kindles and EBooks, I used to travel with a big bag of books (wanted options, wanted to always have something to read). Now I travel with a tiny Kindle reader and a bag full of scarves (want the options, always want something to wear)
But I wanted to complete my ROYBGIV before the theme week ends so here are my remaining colors from archive or recent shots:
Orange: Flaneries à Versailles-- my first orange H scarf, a souvenir of a mother-daughter trip
View attachment 6162731View attachment 6162732
Indigo: My only indigo scarf, Ors Bleu d'Afrique
View attachment 6162734View attachment 6162735
Violet: With huge appreciation to @Croisette7, @Living.la.vida.fifi and @Nomad for the inspiration to hunt this beauty and to @LeneCPH for the powerful assist and enablement, Parures de Samouraïs (cw10).

My DH is not a big fan of pattern mixing (he makes an exception for stripes) so this is my planned SOTE. Thank you for letting me complete my rainbow!
Your trip sounds so joyful and special. But also challenging to pack. I always freeze up when I have to pack for an event and don’t know what to bring. I often end up being better dressed on a normal workday than when I’m under pressure. You look smashing whether it’s orange, indigo or lilac. Safe travels and I look forward to NOrleans posts.
