Thank you, @Karenska , for opening winter scenery to us. I only own 1 winter scarf, for the obvious reason that I cannot make me wear these scarves other than in deep winter and as my collection is limited... But I have another 2 scarves which could be ranged into this category and one of them is the beautiful Grønland. When I bought it some 35 years ago, I chose this cw because I thought it was the perfect one for the theme. When I walked the neighbour's dog, Fluffy, yesterday I thought she could easily join the pack, she would be their white beauty! I remarked that the mountains in Grønland are painted with an additional layer of white which has been described before in this thread.View attachment 6103312View attachment 6103313View attachment 6103314View attachment 6103315
This Grønland is a dream @darkstar and your pup-friend is a real beauty too!
Perfect scarf for a Christmas package mail run! I love the top hats - what a dapper driver! Inspired pairing with the ice blue sweater, too.
So, so pretty. Lkb, your sweaters are always so perfect with your scarves! I love this combo. And I missed your Touterelles until this morning - how did you ever find it? It’s glorious. Congratulations.
Thank you both @Lellabelle and @Karenska! I love blue sweaters in every shade!
The holidays are not complete without wearing this special winter scarf. I particularly like how beautifully the falling snow is depicted on this design.

Look at those horses struggling to deliver the mail through the deep snow. Today I am patiently waiting for FedEx to deliver some orange boxes.

L'Hiver en Poste is my scarf of the day.

 and we are looking forward to seeing what is in them @Redbirdhermes!

It’s important at the holidays, with all the hubbub and for many, the inevitable stress of it all, not to mention sometimes feeling sad, to Keep Calm and Carry On. And perhaps practice Hygge, a Norwegian and Danish tradition of fostering equality, gratitude, comfort, harmony, togetherness, being present, and seeking simple pleasures, pursuits and qualities that are considered key for living a happy life.
Some scarves simply embody hygge to me. The CS medium losanges are perfect for cozying up to a fire with a book and a cup of tea, or throwing on for added warmth on a walk. I have a few and they are my mainstay “lil winters”. These two have the added advantage of having bright and cheery holiday colors. Have a peaceful day.

Edited to add that one way I practice hygge and “keep Christmas” is to read a holiday story or two. Right now I’m reading A Child’s Christmas in Wales.

Well, a universal holiday chore is a trip to the Post Office-- those parcels and cards do not mail themseves!-- and that is where I am headed this morning in the perfect holiday scarf: Mail Coach by Hugo Grykar. This design (though not this scarf) is a birth year one for me so I was delighted to find such a pretty cw in good condition. Twins with @Croisette7 and I am sure some others! Though not a winter scene, the colors (especially the festive cherry red) and the vignettes remind me of holiday travel.

Very inspired by this light blue and cherry red together, so festive yet unexpected!
