I really need to stay on top of these, to avoid the inevitable mega-quote. Apologies in advance!
Thank you Maedi, lovely to be sisters!

Thank you, Lellabelle ... yours is gorgeous in blue!
Thank you, @Croisette7. I am trying to wear this one more, and more casually. Christiane Vauselle’s tiger has such a beautiful face in all iterations of this design!

Today, one of my tiger friends will accompany me through the day, not through the night. The one with the teal eye and same coloured hem. Tyger Tyger.View attachment 6101363View attachment 6101361
Stunning! The pale blue jacket is inspired and this combo, along with with the tiger’s teal eyes, only serves to highlight your own pretty blue eyes! A very flattering combination.

Not on theme but my SOTD is Annie Faivres Jardin de la Maharani
- tied this morning for style and a boost of confidence for my annual performance review with my boss

Now that the review is over (and went well ;) ) I will treat myself to opening some scarf mail, that has been sitting patiently on my shelf… Hopefully I’ll manage to take some pictures for you later 😊
Lovely maharani, and love the jacket too! Glad your review went well. You look very professional.
Thank you @Lellabelle! Mine has no care tag so it was a little less costly but agree that it is not easy to find at a friendly price. I learned from resellers that the price of the gold/neutral cw had been driven up and off the charts so if I expanded my sights to other cws I might be lucky. Very happy that I did because the purples suit the design wonderfully as you say. I love the styling on your Tigre Royale. Just beautiful.
Thank you ‘Nola! The purple is my favourite though the prices have skyrocketed on this CW now too. The neutral is very pretty indeed, and I can see why it’s popular. You look simply wonderful in it and I'm glad you were able to find one for your collection!
I'm wearing my most recent vintage Xavier de Poret today.

Les Biches by Xavier de Poret is my scarf of the day.

View attachment 6101437
Perfect with the neutral toned pearls. Your ability to match pearls with the colours in your scarves is unparalleled, @Redbirdhermes
Beautiful styling and such a cool jacket. Such tactile material and I am fond of silk carrées combined with other fabrics.
Thank you! It’s an alpaca cape ;). Extremely soft and cuddly!

Lellabelle, Twins on the double sided Tiger. You have a regal presence in that photo.🧐 I love it with your pearls and the blue jacket 🙌. Nicely done!
Thank you @Helena7 the necklace you have paired with yours is a showstopping combination!
Good morning!!

Today it is Sct Lucia Day. A Day to light candles and look towards brighter times. 🕯️also a Day to send warm thoughts to those sick or in distress or just to wish for endurance in x-mas times.

I wear a candle pin and a holiday red scarf to match. Fornunately it Can tie in a Way not to reveal the slaying and dismembering going on in the motive…
Termes de Venerie by CJ Hallo.
View attachment 6101889
Wish you a day of bright lights!
Perfect pairing with the candle brooch and a lovely sentiment too. Wishing you the same, my dear!
Dear Lellabelle, I love that tie. What is it called and is there a tutorial? Thanks
Yes: it’s called a Tod’s knot, or sometimes a hacking knot or a weave knot. Basically all the same thing. I think there’s a tutorial on the scarf knotting thread, but if I can’t find it, I’ll make you a post.
It looks more difficult than it is.
Hastening to the end of the alphabet today with my very precious Xavier de Poret-- Les Tourterelles:
View attachment 6101805View attachment 6101811
And including an archive photo of the only design I own by an artist whose name begins with the letter "Y":
Yannick Manier's very beautiful Rafales.
View attachment 6101807View attachment 6101809
Such extraordinarily soft and pretty pinks. The Rafales is such a cheerful silk, too.
Clair de Lune today. I’m not sure how to wing it being on theme other than to say that Dimitri Rybaltchenko is skip-adjacent to T :graucho:Yes, that was a long shot!

View attachment 6102084
Love this on you!
Good morning!!

Visiting friends for casual dinner later and playing with how and with what to wear this season-appropriate cw of Fleur de Lotus by Christine Vauzelles.

A very festive CW indeed. It’s reminiscent of poinsettia.
Grand Theatre Nouveau for a Christmas market today.

Brights suit you so well, @GloWW0rM
Good morning, everyone. Many thanks to @bunnycat for leading us through the end of the alphabet this week! And to all of you for sharing your XYZs!!! I am ending with my beloved Shackleton by the incomparable Zoe Pauwels-- because today is definitely cold enough for penguins here in New Jersey 🥶
View attachment 6102906
My photo does not show my winter white trousers and cozy boots, which definitely amp up the polar effect!
Just wow. Stunning, truly. Now, we must see those cosy boots!
Hello dear Scarflandia,
I have been MIA for almost a month - I was traveling in South America and then got sick in Uruguay on my last day of travels so I am still recovering from my ailments:smile: anyhow, I have been checking the posts and enjoying the fab mod shots you all post, which always provide an endless flow of inspiration, for which I am grateful!

I know it is a winter theme but I have been mostly stuck at home nursing my South American cold, and thus perusing my CSGMs for my zoom calls. Here is a new to me CW of Dans Atelier in Gris to join my sister Blanc/Sepia one:smile: have a fabulous week, everyone!
View attachment 6102930
View attachment 6102931
This is very beautiful, @Ashanti_Rose. I think I prefer it to your blanc/sepia; it’s dreamy in these silver greys. Sorry to hear you’ve been unwell, and sending best wishes for a speedy recovery.
Welcome @Karenska to help us celebrate winter themed scarves this week. In case I forget, a quick glance out the window reminds me that winter is coming. The combination of freezing rain, sleet and snow is what our weather service calls "wintry mix".

View attachment 6102932

Scottish plaids with red and green always remind me of the holidays. Fleurs D'ecosse is my scarf of the day.

View attachment 6102933
Fab CW, packed with festive cheer! I love how you’ve highlighted the gems with this tie.
Not winter themed but I consider it a winter holiday scarf for some reason. I guess because the Colors and hem scream “party” to me. I also have to be in a bold mood too. Wore it out to dinner w friends before the holiday craziness begins for us and we don’t see each other.
And I wore it the day after the meteor shower in northern hemisphere! So the stars on this scarf choice may have been a subliminal effect from the night before too. That was a fun night to try to see them. DD and I went out at 11pm to try to find a spot with no city lights. I think I may have seen two. But the eyes play such tricks with all the airplanes and the moon light was so strong!! So it was tough to catch them in so much light.
And if being totally honest, we have had so many coyotes and wolves in our suburban town that I was not keen at all to walk further in the woods at night to get to darker space for stargazing, with not another human in sight
Space derby.
View attachment 6103090
Aww, this always feels like a party scarf to me too @Nomad. More than any other I own, I think! I love it at this time of year, and it’s been my choice for new year and Christmas 🎄. I love the starry night sky in the marine especially. 💫

Season’s Greetings, dear Scarfies, as we enter the final seventeen days of the year and begin the many religious and cultural celebrations of light with our families and friends. Many thanks to @bunnycat for hosting T-Z week :hugs:. No doubt we are all busy doing something associated with the upcoming holidays, or more likely, MANY things. This week we’ll help celebrate the warmth and goodness of this “so hallowed and so gracious” time by showing off our seasonal beauties.

Let It Snow: winter-themed and festive scarves, chic holiday styling, or pair your scarf with a holiday cocktail or mocktail!

A scarf that always makes its appearance during the holidays is the lovely Joies d’Hiver by Joachim Metz, brimming with gorgeous details.

This jacquard treasure depicts a wintry scene of Victorian skaters in their fashionable finery. There are not one but two jacquard skater motifs designs and it has the added beauty of matte blanc overlay, a technique that adds paint, often white, for special effects. In this design, the technique is employed for ice and snow (thank you @Ashanti_Rose for providing a definition of matte blanc on another thread in January 2023).

Another gorgeous seasonal scarf is Plumes et Grelots by Julie Abadie. It, too, is a jacquard fabric featuring a holly and berries design - so very pretty. This is my favorite colorway. I don’t own this design and I would love to see some mod shots of those who do own this lovely silk.

So let’s see your wintry delights and remember, any scarf you choose to show is welcome, on-theme or not.

Sparkling Apple Punch (from Sur la Table)
View attachment 6102904
For a 1½ gallon beverage jar
  • 2 (12-ounce) cans of frozen apple juice concentrate, thawed
  • 2 liters of ginger ale
  • Ice to fill
  • 2 sliced apples for decoration
Pour the cans of apple juice and the bottle of ginger ale into the beverage jar. Add ice and stir. Add slices of apple on top for decoration.

These two look like ice dancers!

Definitely a party scarf! It’s so joyous and the colors are great on you.

I’m a little behind, as this was my SOTD on Friday, inspired by @HermesEchidna’s lovely post about the feast of Saint Lucia. I always thought this was a beautiful day with its celebration of light in the darkness of winter. I wore Claire de Lune with a deep red cashmere sweater. Festive mani predates the outfit, but goes quite nicely!

Late to post it, but on theme for the week as this scarf is a real winter joy for me. It reminds me of starry nights and candlelight.
Wishing you all light and joy, as we find our way through the winter. ✨✨✨

A perfect holiday look! And omg I love your nail color.

A perfect holiday look! And omg I love your nail color.
Thank you! It’s OPI Infinite Shine “All about the bows” with a top coat of “Pirouette my whistle” (clear top coat with white paillettes and silver glitter). That opacity is from a single coat of colour, believe it or not! It’s a perfect red, and so intense I double up on the base coat to prevent any chance of staining. The larger white paillettes look like snow and the tiny silver glitter makes it twinkle and shimmer, though that doesn’t show up in this pic ;)

Just circling back because I have to comment again on the amazing jacquard on Joies d'Hiver and the richness of the colors of the clothing--- just marvelous @Karenska!

Oh, @Nomad it is the perfect festive scarf! I never thought of it like that but you may have given mine a new role to play! This looks amazing with your bright sweater and lippie. No need to apologize about a healthy respect for coyotes and wolves-- we have them too by the beach and they make a truly terrifying racket...
Thank you also for your lovely comment on my Shackleton-- it has a special place in my heart as it was an anniversary gift last year!

Thank you @Jereni!

Oh my! This was a scarf to stop the scrolling immediately and just stare. Wow what a gorgeous colorway! :faint:

What a wonderful intro to the week. These scarves just create joy this time of year.

You always say the best comments @Maedi. And always Insightful
Aww, that is so kind. I think that about your comments, the color wisdom, the reflections, the careful analyses.

The perfect scarf for the starry occasion and a brave endeavor with your DD.

Well, a universal holiday chore is a trip to the Post Office-- those parcels and cards do not mail themseves!-- and that is where I am headed this morning in the perfect holiday scarf: Mail Coach by Hugo Grykar. This design (though not this scarf) is a birth year one for me so I was delighted to find such a pretty cw in good condition. Twins with @Croisette7 and I am sure some others! Though not a winter scene, the colors (especially the festive cherry red) and the vignettes remind me of holiday travel.

I missed the 60minutes segment about H tonight. 😟
The segment was mostly about the house -- and specifically leathercraft. The part about scarves was only what had already been teased although we did get a good look at somt of the Thalassa CSGM cws and the Philateliste du Faubourg cws as well. Other than that, the teaser on the seasonal thread was all there was about scarves @Maedi!

Thank you, @Karenska , for opening winter scenery to us. I only own 1 winter scarf, for the obvious reason that I cannot make me wear these scarves other than in deep winter and as my collection is limited... But I have another 2 scarves which could be ranged into this category and one of them is the beautiful Grønland. When I bought it some 35 years ago, I chose this cw because I thought it was the perfect one for the theme. When I walked the neighbour's dog, Fluffy, yesterday I thought she could easily join the pack, she would be their white beauty! I remarked that the mountains in Grønland are painted with an additional layer of white which has been described before in this thread.1000010335.jpg1000010342.jpg1000010345.jpg1000010265.jpg

It’s important at the holidays, with all the hubbub and for many, the inevitable stress of it all, not to mention sometimes feeling sad, to Keep Calm and Carry On. And perhaps practice Hygge, a Norwegian and Danish tradition of fostering equality, gratitude, comfort, harmony, togetherness, being present, and seeking simple pleasures, pursuits and qualities that are considered key for living a happy life.
Some scarves simply embody hygge to me. The CS medium losanges are perfect for cozying up to a fire with a book and a cup of tea, or throwing on for added warmth on a walk. I have a few and they are my mainstay “lil winters”. These two have the added advantage of having bright and cheery holiday colors. Have a peaceful day.

IMG_0520.jpeg
Edited to add that one way I practice hygge and “keep Christmas” is to read a holiday story or two. Right now I’m reading A Child’s Christmas in Wales.

Beautiful! Another one that compliments your eyes, and Fluffy’s too! I am your sister in an icy blue colourway of this charming design and also fell in love with the happy, purposeful dogs! Mine was preloved, and came to me in nowhere near as lovely condition as yours, which makes me less nervous to wear it (even though it’s one of the paler scarves I own). I must remember to pull it out this week.

Thank you for posting the close up of the matte blanc overlay; this is one of the clearest pictures of it that I have seen and really serves to show the contrast between the glossy silk and the matte overlay. It adds such dimension to whites, doesn’t it?
