Hello dear Scarflandia,
I have been MIA for almost a month - I was traveling in South America and then got sick in Uruguay on my last day of travels so I am still recovering from my ailments:smile: anyhow, I have been checking the posts and enjoying the fab mod shots you all post, which always provide an endless flow of inspiration, for which I am grateful!

I know it is a winter theme but I have been mostly stuck at home nursing my South American cold, and thus perusing my CSGMs for my zoom calls. Here is a new to me CW of Dans Atelier in Gris to join my sister Blanc/Sepia one:smile: have a fabulous week, everyone!

Gorgeous-- don't envy you the cold but the shawl is covetable! Sending wishes for your quick recovery @Ashanti_Rose and welcome home.

Dear @Ashanti_Rose, please take care and I hope you recover as soon as possible. Your DAdRD CSGM is just stunning. It suits you beautifully.

Welcome @Karenska to help us celebrate winter themed scarves this week. In case I forget, a quick glance out the window reminds me that winter is coming. The combination of freezing rain, sleet and snow is what our weather service calls "wintry mix".

Scottish plaids with red and green always remind me of the holidays. Fleurs D'ecosse is my scarf of the day.

This is a gorgeous holiday colorway, RBH, and I love how you paired it. Now you need a pennannular brooch! Do you own one?

Season’s Greetings, dear Scarfies, as we enter the final seventeen days of the year and begin the many religious and cultural celebrations of light with our families and friends. Many thanks to @bunnycat for hosting T-Z week :hugs:. No doubt we are all busy doing something associated with the upcoming holidays, or more likely, MANY things. This week we’ll help celebrate the warmth and goodness of this “so hallowed and so gracious” time by showing off our seasonal beauties.

Let It Snow: winter-themed and festive scarves, chic holiday styling, or pair your scarf with a holiday cocktail or mocktail!

A scarf that always makes its appearance during the holidays is the lovely Joies d’Hiver by Joachim Metz, brimming with gorgeous details.

This jacquard treasure depicts a wintry scene of Victorian skaters in their fashionable finery. There are not one but two jacquard skater motifs designs and it has the added beauty of matte blanc overlay, a technique that adds paint, often white, for special effects. In this design, the technique is employed for ice and snow (thank you @Ashanti_Rose for providing a definition of matte blanc on another thread in January 2023).

Another gorgeous seasonal scarf is Plumes et Grelots by Julie Abadie. It, too, is a jacquard fabric featuring a holly and berries design - so very pretty. This is my favorite colorway. I don’t own this design and I would love to see some mod shots of those who do own this lovely silk.

So let’s see your wintry delights and remember, any scarf you choose to show is welcome, on-theme or not.

What an all-around beautiful introduction. The snow, the waltz, the scarves… I always find Joies mesmerizing. How the artist managed to get all the details and convey so much joy and authenticity. It’s a beauty.

I hope you can get over or through this quickly. This Atélier is a beauty. There were such good color ways for this design.

Thank you, Maedi, I agree quite completely about Joies. I’m curious about the palmetto (?) leaves encircling the center octagonal medallion. Does anyone know what they are or what they symbolize please?

Good morning, everyone. Many thanks to @bunnycat for leading us through the end of the alphabet this week! And to all of you for sharing your XYZs!!! I am ending with my beloved Shackleton by the incomparable Zoe Pauwels-- because today is definitely cold enough for penguins here in New Jersey 🥶

My photo does not show my winter white trousers and cozy boots, which definitely amp up the polar effect!
Oh my! This was a scarf to stop the scrolling immediately and just stare. Wow what a gorgeous colorway! :faint:

Thank you all for the lovely comments on my new acquisition!

Beautiful dear twin!

Thank you! This jacket goes with everything and I love the texture..

Thank you! I have been reaching a lot for my CSGMs so I think you are right, that I will get a lot of wear out of it and it is always nice to have some variety!

First real outing for me new-in to the opera/musical tonight

Both wonderful choices, @Karenska! Your brooch is so lovely.

This design is so charming!

Stunning cw of Tyger Tyger. You may have been losing your mind in the car, but you looked fabulous. I had 3 hrs of the same in the car with mine  They’re at the stage where they really enjoy annoying one another.

I agree that it would probably be too similar in this cw! Hopefully another cw will catch your eye.

Oh no, that storm sounds dreadful. I hope it’s died down now and you’ve been able to secure your house and driveway. Wow @Fetes Venitiennes and its stunning colours and jacquard.

Thank you! We were so lucky with the weather (after a solid week of rain) and had a wonderful time.

Gorgeous! What a cute window display. Thanks for sharing.

Happy that you’re starting to feel better! Saline nasal wash is weird but works wonders. Sudafed unfortunately gives me a bounce back effect where it makes me more even more congested a few days after taking it.
It does work wonders! I have never experienced a bounce back from decongestants. But I take them so very rarely I probably wouldn't notice anyway!

Thank you so much, dear bunnycat, for leading us through this week so expertly even though you have been and are still suffering. I think I would not have been able to persevere like you have! Hope you are on the mend and wish you an uneventful weekend. 🤗
Thank you darkstar! Yes- feeling better today. I slept without having to wake up to blow my nose 6,000 times and though my ears are still stopped up, I am making it through the day without feeling desperate for something to help me breathe.

Ooooh I love the high drama of this look! One cannot tell you are sick in the slightest, you look fab.

All beautiful knots! Those tones of green and orange together are scrumptious!

The absolute happiest of colorways!

Every time I see that Act III…. 😍

Ugh this is glorious! I was guessing this might be the cw I want and I think this photo sealed the deal.

Ah yes… I can see how these might be duplicative. The Carrousel is much cooler tones tho so… maybe??
Thank you Jereni! Hi drama looks tend to be my hallmark.

Beautiful start to the week Karenska!

A gorgeous, gorgeous silk, Bunny, and I’m glad your mini-dose worked out. Please take care and feel better soon. Thank you for hosting under such difficult circumstances. :hugs:
Thank you Karenska! I've reached the coughing phase, so headed in the right direction. Once my ears clear up I'll be on the right road outta this nasal dump!

Not winter themed but I consider it a winter holiday scarf for some reason. I guess because the Colors and hem scream “party” to me. I also have to be in a bold mood too. Wore it out to dinner w friends before the holiday craziness begins for us and we don’t see each other.
And I wore it the day after the meteor shower in northern hemisphere! So the stars on this scarf choice may have been a subliminal effect from the night before too. That was a fun night to try to see them. DD and I went out at 11pm to try to find a spot with no city lights. I think I may have seen two. But the eyes play such tricks with all the airplanes and the moon light was so strong!! So it was tough to catch them in so much light.
And if being totally honest, we have had so many coyotes and wolves in our suburban town that I was not keen at all to walk further in the woods at night to get to darker space for stargazing, with not another human in sight
Space derby.

I’m a little behind, as this was my SOTD on Friday, inspired by @HermesEchidna’s lovely post about the feast of Saint Lucia. I always thought this was a beautiful day with its celebration of light in the darkness of winter. I wore Claire de Lune with a deep red cashmere sweater. Festive mani predates the outfit, but goes quite nicely!

Late to post it, but on theme for the week as this scarf is a real winter joy for me. It reminds me of starry nights and candlelight.
Wishing you all light and joy, as we find our way through the winter. ✨✨✨
