Really bad storm today,:panic:we lost power along with many other urban areas and we’re told not to leave our home till they fix the situation: live wire on the ground in our lower driveway , multiple power poles broke, our road is still closed!
But, hey, this girl decided to play dress up between cleaning up debris our driveway.
My cats were so scared few hours ago,(me too but I didn’t  hide under the bed with them 🙀🙀) but we’re warm and safe and storm is dying down.

Thank you @HermesEchidna! As you know, Scarf Mail is the Best Mail!

Thank you @Gourmetgal-- for years I have shopped at It's All Goode-- one of the most knowledgeable and trusted resellers I have worked with. Many wonderful finds there over the years...including this one! And she often helps find items on a wish list, too. Otherwise, I try my luck at the usual places like TRR, especially if they permit returns.

Thank you so much @Jereni!

Thank you @bunnycat and that is a power scarf to scare a cold off if ever there was one!!! Don't mess with a girl in a black and gold moussie or else... Thank you so much for a marvelous week graciously hosted under stressful health circumstances...

Thank you @Maedi! My one and only Poret and likely to remain so-- it pleases me that the the color is so luminous and the doves so delicately colored. I could just stare at it for hours... The Nuees was a happy surprise!

It is no less gorgeous on you for being Amazones rather than GTN @GloWW0rM! And thank you for your lovely comments. I am insanely jealous that you had frequent work trips to Moscow and if you ever do acquire this scarf, you will have to put some photoshop expertise in place to create a proper scarf on site! You look adorable dressed for a Russian winter. (and thank you for the comments)

That brooch with the shawl is marvelous @Karenska. I hope you had a lovely time with your family.

This "confetti" cw is so pretty and festive @Redbirdhermes. You inspired me to add this design with this lighter cw!

Oh @PoliticalGal -- this Tyger Tyger shawl is simply stunning. An extremely covetable cw. What I do not envy you is a long car ride with restless kids!

I know what you mean @JavaJo-- not only colors, but sometimes even the design elements are similar-- although it is not stylistically the same as Orphee at all, here is another radial design with animals and another beautiful blue and it also ties beautifully... sigh. Did you add the new Katie Scott as well?

Beautiful @Helena7 but mainly, I am gad to hear that you are ok and I hope things clear up and get back to normalcy soon!
Thank you, dear sister with this beautiful shawl! The brooch is a fav. It’s a sunflower but works perfectly for the holidays.

Tyger Tyger shawl for a day mostly spent in the car trying to keep kids from melting down in boredom.

Simply fantastic!!!

As I was perusing through SS25 scarves and contemplating my next purchase, I was drawn to this Le Carrousel de Tigre Royal Scarf…. and asked myself whether this is already a duplicate of a scarf I already own - Lanternes, Ballons et Cochades…. had deja vu moment… until fellow tpf-er pointed out that both scarves were designed by Katie Scott… ah💡

Edited: Obviously don’t know my alphabet… LOL… S comes before T… uhmm, not on theme, girl…. hahaha

Thanks LKB! (Especially a moussie featuring rampant raging gryphons!). I think I may have turned the corner earlier this evening after my second nasal flush of the day (ewww....TMI) . At least on the congestion part. Fingers crossed it stays this way.

Saturday night with my Tiger shawl and H store in Luxembourg.

Thanks everyone for joining in this week for the end(ish) of the alphabet. We all got "close enough" in one way or another and came sliding in to home base.

Today was Tsubas, my other Christiane Vauzelles scarf. Pic from this morning when I was still stuffed up. I did a nasal saline wash and took a very hot shower this evening, and since then things seem a lot better! I also bit the bullet and had 1/6 of a Sudafed last night and another 1/6 at lunch today- that's 6mg X 2= 12mg total in 24 hours (60mg is a "standard dose" for adults), which is why I am up at 1:30 AM right now. I'm not kidding. I am not supposed to take this stuff but I was desperate. Thankfully- this is the only real adverse effect for me after I learned my lesson the last time I was "desperate" and took 1/4 pill. I bounced off the walls for 3 days that time.

Beautiful dear twin!

Oh how beautifully tonal. I’m always envious of you all that can pair scarves with marvelous tweeds and boucles.

Thank you! This jacket goes with everything and I love the texture..

Congrats on it! What a beauty!

Congratulations! It’s beautiful and suits you.

Mega quote incoming!

So happy that your review went well. Lovely Jardin de la Maharani.

Huge congratulations! It’s beautiful on you and I’m sure you’ll get a lot of wear out of it.

Thank you! I have been reaching a lot for my CSGMs so I think you are right, that I will get a lot of wear out of it and it is always nice to have some variety!

SOTE to be treated to dinner by my beautiful nephew and godson and his lovely girlfriend. I wore two scarves! An innie and an outie :giggle: although neither are on theme. It was cold outside and wsrm in the restaurant a so win-win!

Thank you to @bunnycat for gamely hosting this end of the alphabet week. Here is another scarf from a W artist.

Stunning cw of Tyger Tyger. You may have been losing your mind in the car, but you looked fabulous. I had 3 hrs of the same in the car with mine  They’re at the stage where they really enjoy annoying one another.

I agree that it would probably be too similar in this cw! Hopefully another cw will catch your eye.

Oh no, that storm sounds dreadful. I hope it’s died down now and you’ve been able to secure your house and driveway. Wow @Fetes Venitiennes and its stunning colours and jacquard.
Just stunning colors, Glowworm, and so pretty on you! I hope you enjoyed the Christmas market.
Thank you! We were so lucky with the weather (after a solid week of rain) and had a wonderful time.

Happy that you’re starting to feel better! Saline nasal wash is weird but works wonders. Sudafed unfortunately gives me a bounce back effect where it makes me more even more congested a few days after taking it.

Thank you so much, dear bunnycat, for leading us through this week so expertly even though you have been and are still suffering. I think I would not have been able to persevere like you have! Hope you are on the mend and wish you an uneventful weekend. 🤗

Thank y'all for the well wishes. I am still battling severe congestion and a nasty sinus headache. I mean- it's literally I just can't breathe through my nose at all nasal disaster night and day right now (and that keeps me from sleeping, and then I get real crabby). Sadly, I can't take decongestants either. The best I've been able to do is smear my nose with Vicks for temporary relief. I did have a little more energy today so maybe by the end of the weekend I'll start getting back on track.

I did have to take Mr Bcat (the person I have to thank for my current state of nasal misfortune as he had this last week) to Xmas rehearsals and so took the opportunity to wear Vladimir Rybalchenko's Cavalier d'Or giant vintage mousseline when dropping him at the train station.

Ah yes… I can see how these might be duplicative. The Carrousel is much cooler tones tho so… maybe??

Carrousel might be a pass at this time. @LKBNOLA also mentioned that this has elements of Orphee, too, and I have yet to decide on the right colourway for the Orphee - attracted to the same one @LKBNOLA has, but think it to be too similar to the Retour a la Nature when folded… or the caramel one, which @Nomad and @Croisette7 have beautifully modeled for us, but thinking caramel might wash me out… yes, just caught myself overthinking this one again… lol

Good morning, everyone. Many thanks to @bunnycat for leading us through the end of the alphabet this week! And to all of you for sharing your XYZs!!! I am ending with my beloved Shackleton by the incomparable Zoe Pauwels-- because today is definitely cold enough for penguins here in New Jersey 🥶

My photo does not show my winter white trousers and cozy boots, which definitely amp up the polar effect!

Season’s Greetings, dear Scarfies, as we enter the final seventeen days of the year and begin the many religious and cultural celebrations of light with our families and friends. Many thanks to @bunnycat for hosting T-Z week :hugs:. No doubt we are all busy doing something associated with the upcoming holidays, or more likely, MANY things. This week we’ll help celebrate the warmth and goodness of this “so hallowed and so gracious” time by showing off our seasonal beauties.

Let It Snow: winter-themed and festive scarves, chic holiday styling, or pair your scarf with a holiday cocktail or mocktail!

A scarf that always makes its appearance during the holidays is the lovely Joies d’Hiver by Joachim Metz, brimming with gorgeous details.
IMG_3678.jpeg
This jacquard treasure depicts a wintry scene of Victorian skaters in their fashionable finery. There are not one but two jacquard skater motifs designs and it has the added beauty of matte blanc overlay, a technique that adds paint, often white, for special effects. In this design, the technique is employed for ice and snow (thank you @Ashanti_Rose for providing a definition of matte blanc on another thread in January 2023).
IMG_3673.jpegIMG_3672.jpeg
IMG_8085.jpeg
Another gorgeous seasonal scarf is Plumes et Grelots by Julie Abadie. It, too, is a jacquard fabric featuring a holly and berries design - so very pretty. This is my favorite colorway. I don’t own this design and I would love to see some mod shots of those who do own this lovely silk.
IMG_3677.jpeg
So let’s see your wintry delights and remember, any scarf you choose to show is welcome, on-theme or not.

Sparkling Apple Punch (from Sur la Table)
1734274613629.png
For a 1½ gallon beverage jar
  • 2 (12-ounce) cans of frozen apple juice concentrate, thawed
  • 2 liters of ginger ale
  • Ice to fill
  • 2 sliced apples for decoration
Pour the cans of apple juice and the bottle of ginger ale into the beverage jar. Add ice and stir. Add slices of apple on top for decoration.

These two look like ice dancers!
