Today was my orange H-Day! With the intention of wearing the bolder colors from my collection and wearing at least one scarf per day! In the morning I wore my CSGM Balade en Berline which I already showed in December
Later I changed to my first Hermès scarf. The one that started it all
Nuba Mountain with the lion peeking out from the front.
And wearing my orange Clic ;) View attachment 5683172View attachment 5683173
I love that blaze of orange hues and shades!

My last purchase of 2022 was this Sous L’Egide de Mars wash scarf. I love the feel of the vintage 70s so I had to have one wash scarf before they’re gone (hopefully not forever!).

Not a great pairing with my top today but I was running late. I’d like to pair it next with jewel toned tops to bring out more of those colours in the scarf.

Beautiful, twin! My favorite cw of the wash version... I think it looks lovely on cream-- you've inspired me...

Today I'm reviewing some light blue scarves in my collection. Currently there are four light blue scarves in the rehome pile, which is, of course, subject to change. Two of them, Wedgwood (High Perch) and Hemispaerium Coeli Boreale (neither is pictured), have never seen the light of day. Just didn't like them when they showed up. Two have been shown once, an original issue Les Mineraux and the Aloha Rectangle (a pristine double wide scarf mispriced as a 90, although Aloha did show up a second time thanks to a callout from @LKBNOLA). Peuple du Vent and Le Jardin de Leila are constantly in danger of slipping into the sell pile. I love both designs, just not the light blue versions. The light blue Faubourg Tropical (not to worry, I still have three!) and Chacun fait son nid actually did exit the collection during 2022.

Light blue scarves that are definitely staying in the collection include Duo Cosmique and the Golden Jubilee Regina. Sous les Orangers is a grail that stays until a better colorway comes along, which may be a long, long time, if ever.

A recent resolution that I've made is to try, really try, to send back a scarf during the return period if I have my doubts. I managed to do so with the light blue double face Tigre Royal, shown here during a post-purchase shirt check. I kept the jade version.

The latest light blue scarf to enter my collection, (I knew I shouldn't get light blue, but it was a design I was considering and it was a 90 mispriced as a 45), is Xavier de Poret's boot scarf, A Propos de Bottes. I gave this 1998 release a bath and an ironing, discovered some missing stitches so stitched up the hem in a couple of places, and reattached the care tag that was literally hanging by a thread. (FYI, I had to repair a scarf some time ago and found a seller on etsy who had small hanks of silk thread in many colors for about $20. Now it's on hand and ready to go. Both times I found a perfect color match.)

So, this scarf is ready for its debut today. My fingers are crossed that this light blue wabi-sabi beauty finds a long term home in my heart and my collection.

My Scarf of the Day is A Propos de Bottes. This scarf is so soft, sort of like the muffled sounds outside thanks to our latest snowfall. Shown here with light and dark tops.

It is beautiful and I am so impressed you found silk thread to make the small repairs. I'd love to reattach some half-mast care tags on vintage scarves especially. I love the soft yet eye-catching combo of colors on your "boot scarf." I myself have the soft blue Sous les Orangers and I love it! And a soft blue L'Intrus, also a keeper. Having said that, I think it is easy to go overboard in a collection with these soft blues and I think you have made some good but hard choices in your culling. I returned or re-homed some of the same ones you have, but I do hope you keep your Mineraux and your Orangers (try it on navy!)-- they are lovely and with your pearls and your ample selection of colorful tops you will find a way to make them pop. Twins on the lovely soft Duo Cosmique also.

Good morning all. I have another New Year's Resolution which I tried and mostly failed to keep last year. One of my rationales for buying multiples of a loved design is that I look at the scarves as "seasonal" but honestly, that attempt to pigeonhole my scarves is quite limiting. While it may comfort my wallet (and my conscience) to think that each addition is serving a unique purpose, the silks themselves object! So here is my third (:girlshocked: ) cw of Ex Libris en Kimonos which I persuaded myself was a "summer" option. Mostly I wear it casually, like this:

But like @Coco2606, I received a new pink sweater over the holidays and suddenly, I thought I might "winterize" my ELeK. So here is my SOTD in keeping with my new resolve to just wear the scarves and not be so rigid about their "place" in my Scarfdrobe.

Both photos show the subtle shades of this cw, especially the pretty blue hem. I really like both versions and would make some room in my house for both the jumper and the scarf! ELEK is a masterpiece and your careful knotting is a brilliant tribute to him, during winter and summer !

I‘m very impressed by your scarf mending skills! I can sort of repair pulls on my CSGMs but I would never dare to resew the hems myself. Your scarf of the day has a very lovely, soft hue of blue and the brown/beige accents add to this rather subdued colour palette. It looks great with your lovely pearls, so that‘s another bonus.

Gorgeous and perhaps my favourite cw of this incredible design. Your pink sweater highlights the pink accents beautifully and your lipstick is the perfect hue of reddish pink!

Dear Scarfies, Not going to be on the thread for a couple of days. I slipped on my stairs and am at the dr for an exam and xray script. I may have broken ribs. Praying not. Too distracted to concentrate on anything but this newest “illness”. What a five weeks it’s been. I’ll catch up when I feel better. You all are showing off some beauties. Take care :hugs:.

Take care. I hope it is not too bad.

Oh no, that’s terrible. I hope it isn’t a broken rib and you’re not in incredible pain. Sending you wishes for a quick recovery!
