Today was my orange H-Day! With the intention of wearing the bolder colors from my collection and wearing at least one scarf per day! In the morning I wore my CSGM Balade en Berline which I already showed in December
Later I changed to my first Hermès scarf. The one that started it all
Nuba Mountain with the lion peeking out from the front.
And wearing my orange Clic ;) View attachment 5683172View attachment 5683173
Radiant ! Nice jewellery too, especially the earings !

Yukky weather today but Petite Main brightened things up!

You should buy every scarf H ever makes with these colors @Teaforparrots! Did you consider the blue Costumes de Fete? I bet you would rock that cw! Very cute glasses and there's nothing like a good haircut--except a new scarf!
This got missed in my multi-quote for some reason… thank you @LKBNOLA, that’s very kind! The jacket is a leather Barbour I’ve had for years, and it’s the softest leather I’ve ever found! Jackets are exempt from the ‘wear less black‘ resolution, right??

A similar thing happened to me through the last couple of years. Scarves used to be for work, or the occasional event, but I tried to make a daily habit of it during the pandemic and it stuck. It feels strange to be without one now. H magic really does go with everything!
A good jacket -- especially one that becomes a personal classic-- is exempt from everything in my stylebook @Lellabelle! The gift that keeps on giving. I just had to replace a beloved navy blazer. It was traumatic but I think I finally got it right...
Loving this week! My favorite design - cosmographia Universalis - was in hardcore ccp this year! I had three 90 silks and was very unhappy with two of them. Over the course of the year I admitted to myself that I purchased the white/pink/green colorway because it was available online and because my best friend said she thought it was pretty. I purchased the popular lilac, blue and pink colorway because of just that - popularity! I remembered how at the time, I saw the warm coral colorway and a little voice whispered - this would look best on you. But I ignored it in favor of going along with the masses and ease of purchase! I am proud of correcting that this year, offloading the two silks that weren’t working, and treated myself to this little beauty. Finally, the cosmographia that fits best with me!

A gorgeously wonderful cw on you and a textbook example of a perfect CCP @laurenad. Congratulations-- she's glorious on you!
Such a clever knot! I must remember it when I wish to hide borders. I got an Eileen Fisher sweater exactly this color the other day and can’t wait to wear it

I always admired this maroon CW of Artiste! My favs were the caramel, the cobalt and this one… Love the white hem so beautifully highlighted in this fun knot
Thank you so much @Living.la.vida.fifi-- I adore the caramel Tresors too :girlsigh:
Love the knot @LKBNOLA and tthe colorways of Tresors really are so different - I understand some folks’ reluctance for multiples but truly these scarves are quite discreet. And love the puddytats!
Thank you @Snausages-- I am trying to resist this design in a larger format-- a different kind of multiple that would require a different 3 letter acronym. FEP-- Format Enhancement Program?
Trying to wear a scarf every, and to hopefully remember to take a selfie. This is the challenge for me as I always remember once I’ve already removed the scarf!
So, my SOTD for errands was Pelages et Camouflages moussie
View attachment 5682996
It is really lovely in moussie form @Living.la.vida.fifi and  on resolution-keeping!
Well, I spent the first two days of the year in sweats doing yardwork and playing with the pups so I’m already behind the eight ball in terms of my resolution to wear each scarf 3x! In an effort to make up the lost neck-time, today I donned two Space Derby twillies

Those are charming and you have the best scarf jewelry @Snausages! My one pup is running me ragged-- don't know how you are still standing with two new fur babies at home!
i love this design. It's also fetching as a CSGM. Both colors are beautiful.
 I just responded to @Snausages that the large format of this is soooo tempting! There's one similar to the blue crooking its finger at me from the web but I am being good...Do you have it in CSGM @Maedi? Would love to see...
These are both fabulous CWs. Yes, well done to keep!
Thank you! They are truly different @momasaurus...
Resolution 4: La vie en rose.
H-scarves bring me great joy. And I'm not going to explain why on a forum like this. 2022 has been difficult in many ways, but the few minutes I've taken each day to choose a scarf have been a little comfort I couldn't have done without.
Yes, I admit, I have more pink scarves than I need. I think I'm not the only one here. And I don't intend to stop there with this colour and its variations. It's always very comforting and soft. Why deprive yourself?
I have to say that when I found this jumper, I fell in love with it immediately! See you later this year for the different options!

Stunning! Good work amplifying the pink in the scarf with your sweater @Coco2606-- I look forward to seeing it with other scarves!

Beautiful combos @Katharina Luise -- I can see why Nuba Mountain was the orange slope that started your slide down to H love! And you clic is gorgeous-- you are making me want one!

My last purchase of 2022 was this Sous L’Egide de Mars wash scarf. I love the feel of the vintage 70s so I had to have one wash scarf before they’re gone (hopefully not forever!).

Not a great pairing with my top today but I was running late. I’d like to pair it next with jewel toned tops to bring out more of those colours in the scarf.

Hahah I love this! This is SO how it is haha
Oh yes. Haha.

I feel (at least this morning) that I have accomplished a great deal that I wanted to for my collection over the past three years. I had fun last year with new formats (140 silks and CSGM, Triangle Geant and mousselines) and I think all of those are where I want them to be. My first love is and always will be the 90 silk twill and I freely collect designs that I love whether or not I plan to give them lots of wear-- simply for the beauty and because they feel essential to a true collection. I often analogize my scarf collection to a good poetry anthology: it should have the classic, the innovative, the well-loved, that which endures and yes, even room for the occasional avant-garde or experimental pieces. For this year, I feel content that my CCP* are done and I am mostly finished with "backfilling" prior season scarves I missed. I have about a dozen designs and a few artists I would like to collect (including two unicorn grails), a few older design CSGMs as well. Other than that 2023 will be the year I assiduously search out the scarves of my birth year, as I turn 70 in October and would like 7 designs from 1953 if I can find them. So wish me luck! My New Year SOTD is the big sister to Chorus Stellarum: C'est la Fete. Happy New Year Scarflandia. Delighted to be embarking on another year of Silky Adventures.

Wishing you success in your 2023 grail hunt! I LOVE this moody colorway and hope to find this design in 2023 as well.
I can hope and wish and try to plan that little St Snick will be with us a good long time. You’ll find your Sweet Dreams! I know it!
Thank you! Fingers crossed.

@Living.la.vida.fifi I can so relate to much of what you said above. I have always tried to keep track of colors in my collection and not adding similar colors. But you know how it is..designs can be “different enough” to warrant still getting a “similar” color scheme scarf.
You mentioned reds and blues. These are my red and blue scarves. what I have kept, what I re-homed last year, what is on the re-home pile, what I am doing ccp with. Top row I have kept- Atlantide ( one of my fav scarves), tresors d’artiste ( I could ccp but I just love the sunflower in yellow), and that Canadian on the right sometimes makes it into the re-home pile because I Have three other cw’s and it’s similar to tresors. But I just love the design SO much it comes back into collection. 2nd row-The giverny stays because it’s not big swaths of red and blue. the artisans is actually on the rehome pile because I have 2 other cw’s I like better. But of course I see this pic and say…oh..wait…I just love those scenes on that and that red hem  . 3rd row is what left my collection last year. Carnaval de venise, and art du sarasa. Sarasa is going to be a ccp to another cw. I am thinking of @Teaforparrots colorway ;). And carnaval is also on a ccp to find another cw bc I Love the design. Something light colored because I have a dark of it.

Sorry my posts have been so long lately. These end of year and beginning of year ones get ya thinking haha.
I’ve not see tresors d’artiste modeled in this colorway before and totally understand why it’s a keeper. Stunning! Like you I rehomed some of the same colorways this year in an effort to downsize my collection. Unfortunately…..the additions outweigh the ones in my re-home pile. I need to work on that this year for sure.

Hello, everyone, and so happy to begin 2023 in such great company and already seeing some fabulous scarves!

My New Year scarf resolutions are:
1. One scarf out - One scarf in.
This one is actually painful as I am dying to purchase a few scarves from the new collection but am refraining to until I rehome something of equal value. My present collection is out of control and there are literally not enough days in the year to wear them all so a lot of beauties languish in their boxes and that is a shame.

2. Be a little more aggressive with CCP.
There are designs I own in multiples just because I love them, however, not every CW works as well for me. So, even though it may be hard, this has got to be the year to say goodbye to some of my Jungle Loves, Mexiques, Hola Flamencas, Les Becanes, and a few others that I went overboard with in the past just because I was fascinated by the design. And, speaking of “colors” I find there is an overabundance of similar CWs in my collection and I think it’s time I reflect before I add “another blue and yellow scarf” or another “red scarf” similar to one I already own. And, if I must add that “blue and yellow” or “red” scarf, then I must do so when I rehome the one(s) like it that I already own.

3. Challenge myself to wear a scarf every day (even though I live in a tropical climate). And, on the subject of warm climes, no more CSGMs in 2023 and strive to rehome some of the ones I already own, which is an overabundance considering my geography

Wishing everyone a healthy, happy 2023 full of wonderful scarves!
All of these resolutions are on my list as well. Good Luck!

I am already losing track, but I just want to thank those of you who have been so complimentary about my blog. The Scarf of the Moment posts take quite some time to compile and I really enjoy writing them. Please let me know if you ever find errors or any additions I could use. I will never use my blog for financial gain as it helps me to feel useful despite my health issues. I also point visitors back here to tPF quite often!

The price increase here in the UK has really shocked me, so I think I will be “shopping my collection” this year!

Finally, I don’t think that I have posted this photo with Plumes en Fête CSGM before. Apologies if I have…

HermesHope - I love, enjoy and depend your blog! Thank you for all the hard work. We are CSGM twins! This is one of my favorite shawls to wear and love the combinations of colors with the Gris Chine background.

I love reading your thoughtful posts!
You are knot a lazy knotter! AND - a 90 can be draped over your shoulders too! Just tie a knot in the end and call it a day! (as a bonus - you can sling it around to your back and knot worry about getting lunch on it!)

And - I'm taking you to task here :hugs: - never feel guilty about something you love. I don't look at the cost, I never say 'OHMYGOSH I just paid so much for this piece of silk!', because it's not 'just a piece of silk'* - it is Art, it is Beauty, it is a silken barrier between you and our sometimes unfriendly world, a beautiful touchstone. I rarely wear necklaces because I wear a scarf - it *is* my jewelry (and frankly one heck of a lot less than jewelry) and I never feel guilty about them.
If someone is foolish enough to ask how many I have, I just look at them and say "A lot." In a tone that implies "none of your business" and they don't ask again.
*on the other hand - it is just a piece of silk - so wear them with love!
You are right, Cookie; thank you so much for your encouragement! These scarfs are truly works of art and for me, they add a touch of colour, pattern and femininity to my every day clothes which - at least during the cold months and therefore half a year - mainly consist of jackets, trousers and boots. To me, there is nothing more feminine and beautiful than the statues of antique goddesses or patrician ladies in their softly draped garments. I guess my scarfs serve as a distant echo of this specific aesthetic which can impossibly be replicated in a modern day work wardrobe.

Happy new year, scarfies! 2022 was a culling and slow down year for me. I think I added approximately ten scarves total, and experimented with the gavroche format. I also unloaded quite a few scarves that weren’t bringing me joy, and just shipped off the last of them on December 30th! I have now got my 90 collection to 24 scarves that I love, and I’m planning on being very selective with future additions (no impulse buys!).

As for the CCP, one combination that always entices me is pink and yellow, but unfortunately these seem to be the scarves that end up the most on my chopping block. I have decided that one cause of this is the white that is often prevalent in pink and yellow scarves. White seems to be my scarf downfall. My last scarf of 2022 attempts to correct this, adding pink in a bit of a warmer tone, and pale yellow, but with no white (with the exception of one white moon). Still mulling, but so far this works better for me!

The colors in this new design are so feminine and fresh…..an excellent way to begin the new year.

I had to laugh out really loud at this dear Magjes! I believe there are never too many pink scarves in anybody’s drawer. At least my drawer thinks so… ;)

I see you! I too had this feeling of a free fall, not a slippery slope! ;)

I add your „pry my sales goggles off“ to my goals. I have become better. In the beginning I bought a lot of scarves that were rarely worn only because they had a good price. ;)
Totally agree Katherina!
It was June of 2020 and I had just begun collecting Hermes scarves when @Living.la.vida.fifi modelled her Les Tresors d'un Artiste in the amazing beige, red, blue and green colorway and I fell in love with both the design and the colorway. A month later I found the design brand new at a great price in an acceptable colorway (meaning, not orange) and purchased it. A placeholder scarf, for sure.

View attachment 5681984

It has taken 2 1/2 years of searching, but I finally found the original colorway that I fell in love with.

View attachment 5681986

My original intention was to put the blue colorway into the CCP program, but maybe not. That's okay.

View attachment 5681985

In any case, a related resolution this year is to limit the number of light blue scarves that I purchase. While I like light blue tops just fine, I don't seem to like that color in scarves nearly as much. I've mentioned this before, as it is something that has really surprised me.

Introducing my new-to-me Les Tresors d'un Artiste as my SOTD.

The light blue is so htf and definitely one to keep in your collection. I also found the beige colorway this year (twins!) and love how you have paired with the bright blue top.
This morning I was in the mood for an alternative to the Colliers et Chiens I usually wear around the house to brighten up this gray shirt. I settled on my other wash scarf, tied to keep it out of the way of plant repotting and other tasks. I took some photos, which reacquainted me with the fun details of this Laboratoire.

Lovely choice!

Good morning all. I have another New Year's Resolution which I tried and mostly failed to keep last year. One of my rationales for buying multiples of a loved design is that I look at the scarves as "seasonal" but honestly, that attempt to pigeonhole my scarves is quite limiting. While it may comfort my wallet (and my conscience) to think that each addition is serving a unique purpose, the silks themselves object! So here is my third (:girlshocked: ) cw of Ex Libris en Kimonos which I persuaded myself was a "summer" option. Mostly I wear it casually, like this:
ELeK (06) .jpg
But like @Coco2606, I received a new pink sweater over the holidays and suddenly, I thought I might "winterize" my ELeK. So here is my SOTD in keeping with my new resolve to just wear the scarves and not be so rigid about their "place" in my Scarfdrobe.

Hello my dear scarf friends! I am thrilled by the great photos and information and enjoy the thread now already to the fullest.
Unfortunately, I was sick the last few days and have already missed the connection a little, but could start today with my color scheme problem scarves.

I don't have that many grand scarves (I'm terribly embarrassed, but for the life of me I can't remember it CGSM GSCM GSCM....) - And compared to you, of course, ridiculously few 90 cm scarves. I think the silk scarves suit me better because they have a bit of a sheen to them, the muted one of the CSGM GSCM - you know what I mean - doesn't suit me as well in my opinion.

So for now. let's have a look at the grand carres I own and the problems I have with some of them.

Apologies for the pictures, I'm not feeling particularly well yet, and I'm pretty unphotogenic unfortunately. AND I gained a lot of weight. I personally think, that I need a slimmer face to make the scarves look good, so some pictures are from those glory times when I ate properly and went to the gym on a regular basis......

View attachment 5682512

Let's start with the scarf I've been dying to get: Large Triangle Sweet dreams in shades of green. I find it a little bit "dull" on me, althoug I really LOVE the desing and am a true Baijtlik- fan:

View attachment 5682513

Let's move on to my problem scarf: Mytiques Phoenix in orange / blue.
The scarf has sentimental value for me. I bought it when I realized that I need to get away from certain people to be happy. So the scarf was an anticipated symbol of success, so to speak - and I wear it with pride today. The Birkin, which I requested at the same time, I still do not have, however.

That the colors do not look good on me I was aware at the time, but unfortunately not how bad they look..... I combine the scarf with earrings that were dirt cheap (8 euros?), but match the design perfectly - hopefully they never break

View attachment 5682516

let's move on to Sweat Dream men's scarf- I wear it really seldom although I fought for it SO hard at the boutique. Perhaps that memory is attached to the scarf.. Sadly because I utterly love the design. And the typo "sweat dreams" Lord, I had to sweat for it... I took the foto today, you can clearly see that I am still sick and gained a ton! I am sorry for the ugly pic:sad:

View attachment 5682530

Now let's have a look at my two most loved carres in big sizes:

Firstly: Fantasie indiennes. Initially bough to hang it on the wall but I loved it so much, that I decided to wear it. It came to me to Stockholm, to Rome, to Nizza, to Paris, to Vienna, to Triest and literally everywhere. That said I am still fighting with the yellow parts in it.

View attachment 5682532

and the last one in my small collection of bigger formats: la danse des Amazones. I figured out that the orange blue colorscheme of my Phoenix doesn't work so good for me, so I searched for a design I liked in red- tones. Initially I wanted to purchase Bingata, but didn't like it on me and fell in love with the little wise owl on it. Sadly I pulled a string at exactly that element of the carre with my morganite ring I purchased to wear it together with the scarf.

The Pink/red la danse des Amazones is beautiful on you! Excellent choice.
I hope one day to find that “Sweat Dreams!” Haha. You are gorgeous!

Happy 2023, dear scarfies! Looking forward to another year of wonderful themes and interesting conversation and friendship with you all!

Bunny, Happy New Year to you and sweet Snickers! Thanks for a wonderful intro. I love your Peinture, and, whoa, that special hem!

I do have some resolutions and will post them with my scarf today below.

Snausages, I need to learn this new skill you call rehoming. I would love to follow you in kondoing my collection and rehoming all those I don't adore, but I would settle for getting 3 out the door. Deep breath. Baby steps.

Cookie, I will hold your sales goggles if you will hold mine! (All bets are off when a moussie is in sight!)

Lkb - ah, the ccp... I have one coming that is part of my ccp, but will I part with its lesser sister?! Again, learn about this thing you all call rehoming.

Easier resolution, add three new knots to repertoire, beginning with this one with my very own ClF. Stunning!!

Fifi, I will join you in your scarf a day challenge. And like you, I have fallen down the blue and gold rabbit hole.

Here is my scarf today - one of my very favorites, Tropiques Poinconne

In general, I am going to try to be more mindful this year. Hopefully that will lead to greater appreciation of what I have and refine what I choose to acquire/consume.

I would love to begin actively curating my collection.

I expect to limit my new scarves to 6. (Room for my 3 grails, an as-yet unidentified 140 silk with blue as the main color, and two new or must-haves based on this thread!)
As a lover of pink I’m eager to know what is headed your way @MAGJES
My pink drawer is overflowing but I can’t seem to part with any of them.
 Cant wait to see your new pinks!
I hope I love them! The new season is growing on me and i should really be making MORE room in my drawer instead of continuing to FILL IT UP.
Happy New Year, everyone! I usually have a general resolution to make each year better than the previous, but this year, I want to wear my scarves when I can. I rarely go out and the weather’s only conducive to scarves for about two months, so I really ought to take advantage when I can. Today’s was the LE Pegase Pop for Coded by Kids with a Bayou with Love scarf ring:

Adorable!
Resolution number 3: shop in my collection.
Scarves always have a special reason to appeal to me. I may have a list of criteria, but there are still many temptations... For example, this year I'm going for Costume de fête and the little beads on the edge... My "Arbre du vent" will help me wait or resist!

Another delight is Le jardin des peintres. I like several colours but I'll have to try them. For the blue and pink, "Plumes en fête" and "Index palmarum" will do for today

Shopping from one’s own scarf collection is an excellent way to begin the new year.

@Awillow - I’m unable to comment under your post for some reason but wanted to say that I have always admired your red colorway. The absolute perfect color on you!

Today I'm reviewing some light blue scarves in my collection. Currently there are four light blue scarves in the rehome pile, which is, of course, subject to change. Two of them, Wedgwood (High Perch) and Hemispaerium Coeli Boreale (neither is pictured), have never seen the light of day. Just didn't like them when they showed up. Two have been shown once, an original issue Les Mineraux and the Aloha Rectangle (a pristine double wide scarf mispriced as a 90, although Aloha did show up a second time thanks to a callout from @LKBNOLA). Peuple du Vent and Le Jardin de Leila are constantly in danger of slipping into the sell pile. I love both designs, just not the light blue versions. The light blue Faubourg Tropical (not to worry, I still have three!) and Chacun fait son nid actually did exit the collection during 2022.

image - 2023-01-03T180302.543.jpg

Light blue scarves that are definitely staying in the collection include Duo Cosmique and the Golden Jubilee Regina. Sous les Orangers is a grail that stays until a better colorway comes along, which may be a long, long time, if ever.

image - 2023-01-03T180510.904.jpg
image - 2023-01-03T180040.759.jpg

A recent resolution that I've made is to try, really try, to send back a scarf during the return period if I have my doubts. I managed to do so with the light blue double face Tigre Royal, shown here during a post-purchase shirt check. I kept the jade version.

Blue Tiger.jpg

The latest light blue scarf to enter my collection, (I knew I shouldn't get light blue, but it was a design I was considering and it was a 90 mispriced as a 45), is Xavier de Poret's boot scarf, A Propos de Bottes. I gave this 1998 release a bath and an ironing, discovered some missing stitches so stitched up the hem in a couple of places, and reattached the care tag that was literally hanging by a thread. (FYI, I had to repair a scarf some time ago and found a seller on etsy who had small hanks of silk thread in many colors for about $20. Now it's on hand and ready to go. Both times I found a perfect color match.)

So, this scarf is ready for its debut today. My fingers are crossed that this light blue wabi-sabi beauty finds a long term home in my heart and my collection.

20230103_145342.jpg

My Scarf of the Day is A Propos de Bottes. This scarf is so soft, sort of like the muffled sounds outside thanks to our latest snowfall. Shown here with light and dark tops.
