Wishing all dear scarfies a very happy, healthy and peaceful New Year! ... and many thanks to our lovely scarf mistresses for hosting the very interesting weeks!
:hugs: - and your SOTD is sublime. Love this pale green, you start thinking of spring (and new beginnings)!

I don’t want this year to end without giving a heartfelt thanks to this wonderful supportive (and enabling ;) ) community of scarfies! You all make every day better for me with your gorgeous photos and kind comments! And an even bigger thanks to all of you wonderful scarf mistresses for all the immense work you put into preparing the themes and guiding us through weeks full of fun, inspiration and information!
I wish all of you a new year hopefully with a lot of love, health and everything you wish for. And of course with a lot of new silken treasures
:hugs

Sorry for not posting actively over the last weeks / months - I am reading posts every morning, thinking ‘I need to take a picture today‘ and then in the evening - I realize I have forgotten it again. Thanks to everyone for showing your beautiful scarfs and shawls, for the well chosen themes and for always being friendly, supportive and generous with your knowledge.
It’s fabulous to know (and be somehow part of) a group of individuals from all over the world who share the same passion. Thanks everyone for this wonderful year!

I stumbled across this forum and thread somewhat in the middle of 2023. I had purchased some H scarfs in the past but stopped when my local H store closed. This thread has resurrected my love for H scarfs. This year I have purchased 3 silks and my first CSGM. They all win an Oscarf as they are all different - one twilly, one CSGM, one vintage 90, one new 90.

Awesome colours, Marta - you can wear anything!

Thank you, LKBNOLA! And yes, the Awooooo is a SE.

Such a beautiful colourway, very festive, Croisette!

Your J d’A are so nice, Orchard! I am always happy when I see this design posted.

You and LKBNOLA model the Summer Day CSGT so convincingly… should I get it, too?

Hope you feel better, Awillow, your Brises are spectacular and I love your Fleurs et Papillons GT.

Love seeing these on you, RBH, and a good scarf to finish this week!

Lovely to be a twin, and hope you will have some more time to post in the new year, frenchgirl. Success with your business!

Thank you, Bunnycat and the scarf team, for organising the next year! Congratulations on your new acquisition!

Thank you, AshantiRose, for showing Ferry Tales, I believe we have not seen this one yet. And your remarks on wearing our treasures are spot on!

Thank you, Karenska, and thank you for sharing your beautiful collection! Especially your Encadres, so calming!

Well done, Mary Ann, and there will be more, we can all testify on this.

Thank you, and so beautiful, these red and blue shades, EtsyBoss!

Thank you, Fifi, and you also have such a vibrant PdV!

Thank you - those detailed instructions are always so helpful, SilkCouture!

Thank you, Maedi, and what a nice pink shade this is!

Thank you, MabelJo! Most of my turtlenecks are from Uniqlo, they have many shades, and you can pick them to suit your scarves…

Thank you for this intro, Fifi, and congratulations on your pink DuJA, I completely understand how one can be obsessed with this design.

Keep them, nomad! They all suit you perfectly!

A really festive cw, GloWW0rM!

Thank you, Violet, and your start in H is Oscarf worthy indeed! Looking forward to see more of your choices!
Thank you, Agrume!

This is so unbelievably beautiful dear @Croisette7! Such a perfect CW! Wishing you a wonderful New Year and a special thanks to you for always generously sharing your gorgeous collection with us!

How is it the end of 2024?? What a year!

My first Oscarf goes to... me! For discovering Hermès this summer and falling in love with scarves. I have purchased 11 silks over the past few months: five twillies, three 45s, three 90s. And I also received a muffler for Christmas.

View attachment 5920862

My Oscarf for best design goes to Parade en Fanfare, of which I have one twilly, one gavroche, two 90s. Just need one of the cashmere 65 versions to complete the set...

View attachment 5920865

And a special mention Oscarf for the one that nearly got away - La Vallee de Cristal. The gris colourway wasn't my first or even third choice, but it was the only one that landed on the UK website this year. I'm so glad I talked myself into it!

View attachment 5920867

Plus a best supporting Oscarf goes to my collection of coloured plastic chains for helping me find new ways to wear a twilly.

Massive thanks to our wonderful SOTD team for hosting and to everyone for sharing their beautiful scarves and stories. Wishing you all a happy, healthy and prosperous 2024.
You always present your twillies and scarves in such a cool way dear @violetcool! And congrats to finding one of the (at least in Europe) elusive Vallées! It is perfect for your colors and your style! Wishing you a wonderful New Year!

I also often wish I had a shop in or near to my hometown! But I think then there would even be more damage to my credit card than it is now! So for me it is also the web. And the annual visit to the shop on the island we obviously both love ;) I love your purchases of this year! Ich wünsche Dir ein wunderbares Neues Jahr

Fantastic first post, @Living.la.vida.fifi ! I'm with @bunnycat on this – grabbing my popcorn and getting ready to enjoy what's coming up next.

31 Dec 2023 The Oscarfs Return! Awards for the best of the best buys of 2023

Wishing everyone in Scarflandia a Happy New Year’s Eve! As our silken year comes to an end, I’d like to say that it has been an absolute pleasure to spend time here week after week and an honor to be able to host this, my favorite week on SOTD.

We finally have a chance to tally up all our silk acquisitions of the year. I plan to share all the scarves that entered my collection in 2023: new season scarves, oldies found on the resale market and Grails fulfilled. This is the week our 2023 silks walk the red carpet and receive The Oscarfs!
View attachment 5920812

This was a wonderful year for me as far as silks go. I was able to collect my favorites from each season and to add a variety of formats to my collection. I found some coveted Grails and accomplished a bit of CCP as well.

I begin by choosing my favorite scarves from each season and now present my Oscarf for Best Scarf of the Spring/Summer 2023 Collection to Costume de Fete. I fell in love with this design and got it in two CWs

My Oscarf to the Best Scarf of the Fall/Winter 2023 Collection goes to Parade en Fanfare.

I continue with a magnificent surprise I received as a Christmas gift… My only double-sided scarf of the year and a true masterpiece IMO: Brandebourgs Fleuri. This one is in a category of its own as I am in blown away by its beauty. Perhaps it should win the Oscarf for Favorite Double-Sided Scarf and Newest Grail.
View attachment 5920808

And, finally, a Grail that I had almost lost hope of ever finding again. My Oscarf for Best Grail of the Year goes to Dans un Jardin Anglais. In March of 2019, I ran across this design in the fuchsia CW at my local Hermès boutique. I tried it on and left it behind for I had a huge wishlist that season. When I returned to the store a few days later, it was gone. I’ve regretted doing that ever since as, with time, it became an elusive dream. Well, this year I was able to make that dream a reality and here it is. Below, a picture I took in 2019 when I tried on at Hermès and that has haunted me until very recently when I was finally able to make it mine.

I look forward to a fabulous week as we recap our silken journey this year. Needless to say, our actual SOTDs are always welcome as well as our scarf mail. I invite everyone to participate in giving out our 2023 Oscarf awards as we celebrate another great year in this forum and welcome a new year together in this wonderful community.

Hello everyone! What a year it has been. I am loving these final days of the 2023 Scarflandia thread. Tomorrow our last theme of 2023 will begin, and because of the weird timing that the final theme is on the last day of the year, I decided to wait to start the new thread (for viewing) until after we kick off tomorrow. Hopefully, posting confusion will be avoided that way.

But the 2024 thread is coming up soon. I haven't forgotten  and it will be posted and locked for a few days while this thread runs itself out.

Enjoy this final upcoming week of 2023 SOTD!

Here are a couple of pics from more cashmere wearing this week.

Not surprisingly I wore my new CSGT (CS Giant Triangle) Arcs en Ciel but it was a VLM (Very Low Makeup) day.

And I gave Jungle Love some more love this week too.

So gorgeous dear @bunnycat! Wishing a very happy New Year to you and DH! And of course to all of your wonderful kitties living in or outside of your house! As a fellow cat mom I always love your posts with a glimpse of cat life at casa bunnycat!

These are beautiful, Marta! I am your sister on Della Cavaleria - I have two CWs, one is very similar to yours in colors (with more purple and fuchsia). Ironically, I used it as my "beater" shawl one season - I liked it so much as i wore it literally everywhere (supermarkets, pilates classes, it was shoved in my computer bag, had chocolate spills, you name it, etc) At some point I had to dry clean it as it smelled like a soldier (LOL) and you know it? It still looks like new. The cashmere quality on that year's edition is pretty good - it is not as prone to piling, isn't susceptible to snagging, etc., so wear it without fear, nothing will happen to it:smile:
Thank you, You made my day, dear Ashanti_Rose, I feel courage to wear DC CSGM gathering inside me :)

Happy Saturday, Scarflandia, and here is the last weekend of 2023! Time flies indeed!

I love this week’s theme as I almost exclusively wear cashmere 140 year round. Here is my latest addition to my shawl collection - Silk Mix by Elias Kafouros, which was issued as part of men’s collection in 2019.

Happy New Year everyone - may the new year brings us grail scarves and many fabulous opportunities to wear them!

I love all of them dear @Karenska! And the Summer‘s Day is lovely! Just yesterday I received my first Nigel Peake design. He wasn’t on my radar but now I really like his designs very much! Wishing you a wonderful New Year and a big thanks for your always kind and supportive comments!

Fainting couch much needed... 😍
LKBNOLA what treasures, and how beautiful you look in both of them! I love you in ELEK especially  By the way, I understand your sentiment completely! I am much worse, actually. All my grails that I bought in mint condition are often admired by me in their boxes, occasionally aired and then sometimes photographed - but have never actually been worn by me. Perhaps it should be my New Year's Resolution to wear at least one of them and not panic about it...:panic:
Please wear your beauties! Honestly, what is the point?

Many congrats on welcoming the grail J d'A to your collection, a timeless beauty well worth waiting for.
I did a double take after seeing this irl as I passed by a lady wearing it around 7 years ago - it's remained on my wish list ever since ... one day I hope to be your twin.
