How is it the end of 2024?? What a year!
My first Oscarf goes to... me! For discovering Hermès this summer and falling in love with scarves. I have purchased 11 silks over the past few months: five twillies, three 45s, three 90s. And I also received a muffler for Christmas.
My Oscarf for best design goes to Parade en Fanfare, of which I have one twilly, one gavroche, two 90s. Just need one of the cashmere 65 versions to complete the set...
And a special mention Oscarf for the one that nearly got away - La Vallee de Cristal. The gris colourway wasn't my first or even third choice, but it was the only one that landed on the UK website this year. I'm so glad I talked myself into it!
Plus a best supporting Oscarf goes to my collection of coloured plastic chains for helping me find new ways to wear a twilly.
Massive thanks to our wonderful SOTD team for hosting and to everyone for sharing their beautiful scarves and stories. Wishing you all a happy, healthy and prosperous 2024.

Tomorrow our last theme of 2023 will begin, and because of the weird timing that the final theme is on the last day of the year, I decided to wait to start the new thread (for viewing) until after we kick off tomorrow. Hopefully, posting confusion will be avoided that way.
But the 2024 thread is coming up soon. I haven't forgottenand it will be posted and locked for a few days while this thread runs itself out.

The shawls are fabulous but I can't stop staring at your sweet photobomber @EtsyBoss! Although in all seriousness, I do year end inventories also just to keep myself from repeat-buying scarves that are too similar. I have not (and probably wouldn't dare) do a spreadsheet on my success rate! I think when it comes to H, the heart loves what the heart loves. That Horse Club is amazing-- it seems like four shawls in one plus a striped hem! Jackpot.

Just amazing artistry. Your additions never cease to amaze me. There must be a secret CSGM source that only you have the treasure map to... I really love this on you-- as you said to @Nomad it is detailed without feeling "busy"... (And thank you for the PdS and ELeK love!)

I knew of the Silk Mix design as a friend of mine is a keen collector of designs from the men's collections. I don't have a secret source or a collection strategy (lol) - just the same second hand market! I do lean towards getting multiple colorways of the designs I already have - if I like something, then I REALLY like it and would want to double the joy
As far as wearing grails, I am quite bold with cashmeres and do wear them a lot - unless I have second thoughts about my acquisitions and entertain the possibility of reselling (in which cases I abstain from wearing them). Having said that, I do spend quite a bit of time caring for my shawls to keep them looking "young'n'fresh" (aka de-fuzzing, de-piling, fixing pulls, steaming, pressing - you name it

December scarf acquisitions turned my collection of seven 90 cm scarfs into a collection of fifteen!!! And I added my first Maxi Twilly (the pink Colliers et Chiens in the bottom of the second photo). I'm really going to have to cool my heels in 2024 - boo. But hey, I had some catching up to do. ...right?

To be fair, one of the DA scarves is a color correction - my first Petite Main was never worn (by me, anyway), so it'll be off to find a new silk lover. What I learned was: I cannot buy a pile of scarves expecting to send most back... DH is a terrible enabler!!!
