Wrapped up in my new muffler and a poncho to visit my grandparents this morning.

This could not be a more perfect pairing @violetkool! Your new muffler and plaid poncho were made for each other!
Fainting couch much needed... 😍
LKBNOLA what treasures, and how beautiful you look in both of them! I love you in ELEK especially  By the way, I understand your sentiment completely! I am much worse, actually. All my grails that I bought in mint condition are often admired by me in their boxes, occasionally aired and then sometimes photographed - but have never actually been worn by me. Perhaps it should be my New Year's Resolution to wear at least one of them and not panic about it...:panic:
 We can try to keep each other honest in 2024 @Marta_K-- I realized that even though my Parures CSGM was an early 2022 purchase, I had only four mod shots and only a few more actual wearings. I must get over my fear of wearing grails... The ELeK is a wonder of color and pattern plus that purple hem! The details scarfies dream about...
Thank you, Croisette! Once arrived, I borrowed from Mr. Agrume:

Thank you, LKBNOLA - and I concur with Marta, smelling salts needed here, too. Gorgeous, I love this ELEK!
That's great @Agrume-- twice the scarf options if DH has and will share! Thank you for your compliment on ELeK...

Both are gorgeous @Marta_K-- and I hope you continue to recuperate quickly.
Congrats on your long hunt! ... twins!

Thank you so much, LKB! Love your cw of Dressage!
Grail shawls, so chic. Enjoy!
Thank you both @Croisette7 and @orchard-- you both know how much I admire your collections!
For @Living.la.vida.fifi, these are my other two Brise de Charme. (Forgive the not so great mod shots, as I am under the weather and am struggling to feel human.) The first I have to thank @Cookiefiend for enabling. The second was the one I saw @momasaurus model and hunted for! View attachment 5920430

Oh no, I am sorry you are also under the weather @Awillow. 'Tis the season, right? You look marvelous in both your Brise de Charmes moussies-- the border on the second is TDF.
It has been too long... apologies for the total absence, too much going on with my business. I hope 2024 will mean more time to play with scarves, even though I still wear them daily.
Here, twins with @Agrume, SOTD, my beloved Awooo... my grandson, who loves all the animals in my scarves, was actually scared and stepped back when I unfolded this one.

Thank you so much @Mary Ann G -- it was a dedicated hunt to find those CSGMs in the condition and colors I so badly wanted. That's what makes the reward so sweet...
Hello everyone! What a year it has been. I am loving these final days of the 2023 Scarflandia thread. Tomorrow our last theme of 2023 will begin, and because of the weird timing that the final theme is on the last day of the year, I decided to wait to start the new thread (for viewing) until after we kick off tomorrow. Hopefully, posting confusion will be avoided that way.

But the 2024 thread is coming up soon. I haven't forgotten  and it will be posted and locked for a few days while this thread runs itself out.

Enjoy this final upcoming week of 2023 SOTD!

Here are a couple of pics from more cashmere wearing this week.

Not surprisingly I wore my new CSGT (CS Giant Triangle) Arcs en Ciel but it was a VLM (Very Low Makeup) day.

And I gave Jungle Love some more love this week too.

Oh my, congratulations on that amazing ELeK shawl!!! What a grail. The colors are amazing, and you glow in it!
Thank you so much -- you are always so sweet @Jereni!
Happy Saturday, Scarflandia, and here is the last weekend of 2023! Time flies indeed!

I love this week’s theme as I almost exclusively wear cashmere 140 year round. Here is my latest addition to my shawl collection - Silk Mix by Elias Kafouros, which was issued as part of men’s collection in 2019.

Happy New Year everyone - may the new year brings us grail scarves and many fabulous opportunities to wear them!

Just amazing artistry. Your additions never cease to amaze me. There must be a secret CSGM source that only you have the treasure map to... I really love this on you-- as you said to @Nomad it is detailed without feeling "busy"... (And thank you for the PdS and ELeK love!)

Dear @LKBNOLA , The way you've styled your Parures is spectacular, and the Ex Libris en Kimonos in this colorway is just wow – truly captivating! Feel better soon :flowers:
Thank you on both counts dear @SilkCouture!
So... I was evidently being a bit dishonest... December scarf acquisitions turned my collection of seven 90 cm scarfs into a collection of fifteen!!! And I added my first Maxi Twilly (the pink Colliers et Chiens in the bottom of the second photo). I'm really going to have to cool my heels in 2024 - boo. But hey, I had some catching up to do. ...right? ;)

Five years prior to December 2023 (bottom right is a 55 bandana; 4 twillies not shown):

December 2023 Acquisitions (DA):

View attachment 5920633

To be fair, one of the DA scarves is a color correction - my first Petite Main was never worn (by me, anyway), so it'll be off to find a new silk lover. What I learned was: I cannot buy a pile of scarves expecting to send most back... DH is a terrible enabler!!!

I'm off to have a lie down and think about what I've done...
 We have all been exactly in your position I am sure @Mary Ann G-- I even have a name for this condition: Exuberant Scarf Acquisition Syndrome. The good news is that the acute phase is actually quite pleasurable and exciting! It gradually subsides to a chronic condition which is very effectively managed by a steady infusion of more silks. You'll be fine... though you may experience periodic bouts of unpleasant withdrawal agitation if you go too long without your "medication."
As promised, a collage of the blue + red CSGM in my collection. I am very fond of these, they are my workhorses!

Congratulations! You wear Samurai beautifully but Ex Libris in these colors is breathtaking.
Thank you @Maedi-- I love seeing people's "first" of a kind and that you are still wearing it -- lovely colors and the design is so fun...

Fabulous Rocabar @Croisette7! Such a wonderful combination of colors, just gorgeous.

Good morning, Scarfies. Not going anywhere yet, but wanted to share a recent photo of my newest GT, On a Summer's Day. I know that not everyone loves this format but I find them wonderful in their own way-- sometimes they keep frigid a/c at bay and sometimes they help with drafty rooms and often, they just look nice and are less bulky to wear: less than a shawl but more than a scarf! Like a Goldilocks Scarf, it is sometimes "just right"...
View attachment 5919438
Thank you for sharing your lovely On a Summer's Day @LKBNOLA. This year I collected CSGMs, next year I'm looking at CSGTs, and this is one I'd like to try. I agree with you, it's an interesting format and is just right for certain situations.

Good afternoon!
Prompted to post this rather fast by @Jereni and @LKBNOLA (and I Think also enabled by both - and sisters?) here is my surprise sotd.

I went to the local H today with an Old friend who tried on every scarf in the boutique. I on the other hand stayed on my virtuos path of near-abstinence and only claimed a preordered carre I have been looking at for a while and wanted to get before the dreaded annual prize increase.
But, guess what then happened? A certain double sided scarf of jolly leopards (abbreviated ‘double jeopardys’? ) jumped at me and insisted on following me home. I Think I have to let Them stay….

Both sides now:

We ended up being served champagne and the SA took our photos and showered us with perfume samples etc and Then we left, both with new lovely scarves. I swear I did not plan this!!!
The other purchase will appear in here soon as well - now I will go and put my visa in running cold water and Then feed the leopards.

Wish you all an orange Day!!
LOL @HermesEchidna, I just love how you built our anticipation for this post! You didn't disappoint, those lovely leopards are very tricksy.

Snausages introduced the 90 format, perfect for winter days. I have only one, but this is one of my most loved designs, Les jardins d’Arménie. I believe we have seen most cashmere formats now - the CSGM, CSPM, gavroche, losange, triangles, 65 and 100 cm from the men’s collection and also a muffler. I am sure I forgot a format…

View attachment 5919715
Your Les Jardins d’Arménie is so special @Agrume, and it's just perfect with your gorgeous sweater!

I have two cashmere/silk losanges in my collection. On the left is Hermès Odyssey and on the right is Flamboyant Web.

View attachment 5919733

I am a fan of Daiske Nomura's work. Yesterday I wore his Brides et Destin CSGT and today his Flamboyant Web losange is my scarf of the day.

View attachment 5919746
Wonderful losanges @Redbirdhermes, your Flamboyant Web is my favorite! Love the orange and tiny bits of yellow with the blue.

Very late to posting this week. I have no cashmere in my collection as of yet, but I had scarf mail and H visits aplenty this month! More later, as there is so much to share… but I think I honestly doubled my collection of 90s!!! Here is a shot of my new Vallee de Cristal (cw 03) that I simply cannot stop wearing. I have a pile of photos of different ties - I’ll post to the FW 2023 thread.

Also a photo of our Christmas Eve menu - it’s a magnetic chalk board now adorned with the strangest little gift from my local H boutique. I thought it was a deer, which would make some sense, but upon closer inspection the animal appears to be a cat?!?! I’ve heard of Jack-a-lopes, but a Cat-a-lope…? Really?? It’s made of very thin leather and silks.

Belated Merry Christmas to all!!!

Gorgeous CSGM @Teaforparrots, but that necklace is WOW. My sister is frantically googling trying to find one for herself.

Okay, I actually took off Vallee de Cristal today to add my one and only “large format” for this week’s theme. I had this twilly on my watch list, but hadn’t realized it was a maxi twilly until showing it to DH for approval. If only I hadn’t noticed the size before I ordered it, I can only imagine my hysterical laughter upon its arrival! But I spoiled the surprise for myself, alas. At any rate, my only “large format” (and also holiday gift) scarf - Colliers et Chiens.

And to whomever likened dog collars to jewelry, I totally agree! Our little Maggie, when we got her, HATED wearing a collar! So, after awhile, I started telling her it was a necklace…. (Yes I know… anthorpomorphizing and all that). But now she likes to have her pretty necklace put on every morning!

View attachment 5920214
Oh wow @Mary Ann G, Colliers et Chiens is stunning in this format. I think it's my favorite format for this design, thank you for sharing it (I'm off to update my wishlist).

As a year end organizing task I decided to inventory all my shawls, to see which I haven't been wearing, and if there are any colors well represented. No surprise - navy shows up a lot! I made a collage of the ones that are navy and yellow / beige as the other accent color. I also have a collage planned later for just the navy + red ones. And then there are the navy + other such as Botanica Grafica (hi to my twin @Teaforparrots).

My sweet newfie wanted attention right when I was taking photos and so I've included that because - DOGS! She's some kind of blurry monster. We call her Bigfoot. Amazingly though, she's actually in focus here but not the scarf. It is nearly always the other way around. She's a major sweetie pie.

Here are my navy + yellow / beige CSGM: Coupe de Gala, Trophees, and on the bottom, the more navy end of Horse Club and the more light blue end. It's like having two in one. I'm especially fond of the horses riding the sky wheel. Clearly I have a soft spot for navy and geometric!

Thank you LKB for your kind comment! I knew of the Silk Mix design as a friend of mine is a keen collector of designs from the men's collections. I don't have a secret source or a collection strategy (lol) - just the same second hand market! I do lean towards getting multiple colorways of the designs I already have - if I like something, then I REALLY like it and would want to double the joy:)

As far as wearing grails, I am quite bold with cashmeres and do wear them a lot - unless I have second thoughts about my acquisitions and entertain the possibility of reselling (in which cases I abstain from wearing them). Having said that, I do spend quite a bit of time caring for my shawls to keep them looking "young'n'fresh" (aka de-fuzzing, de-piling, fixing pulls, steaming, pressing - you name it:) With proper care and some investment, they can last a long time and look like new, so wear them and enjoy them - they deserve it!

There isn't a single shawl that you wouldn't look magnificent in, Fifi, but I always pause the longest over your mod shots in vibrant shawls. And your amazing IG posts on Cent Plis des Miao shawl (the shawl itself and then its styling) are just an example

Hello Scarflandia
I got ill and I am currently dressed in woolen pyjamas and mittens, under two sets of quilts, trying to get warm 🤒. I'm still behind, as I discipline myself not to use my phone too much, but it's so nice to be able to chear meself up by accompanying you from afar, looking at your lovely mod shots in your amazing cashmere eye-candies and reading about your activities in holiday season.
As you imagine, I'm in no mod shots condition, but here's my little contribution for this week with archive shots:

These are beautiful, Marta! I am your sister on Della Cavaleria - I have two CWs, one is very similar to yours in colors (with more purple and fuchsia). Ironically, I used it as my "beater" shawl one season - I liked it so much as i wore it literally everywhere (supermarkets, pilates classes, it was shoved in my computer bag, had chocolate spills, you name it, etc) At some point I had to dry clean it as it smelled like a soldier (LOL) and you know it? It still looks like new. The cashmere quality on that year's edition is pretty good - it is not as prone to piling, isn't susceptible to snagging, etc., so wear it without fear, nothing will happen to it:)

Before the day is done, Rocabar de Rire will cheerily slid right in. 🐴

... And you'd better watch out for this surrealist horse as he could easily make you lose your grip on reality. He likes to lark about, this one – as soon as your back is turned, he'll start clowning around to entertain the entire stable. And if you happen to mention going out for a ride, he'll tease you by pulling his favorite face, as if to say: "Why don't you do the running? I'm going to stay here, nice and warm under my Rocabar rug!"

Good afternoon from Berlin where we have just arrived, after a night on call. With lots of scarves for the 4 days here (> 1/d). SOTD, at least for the trip, was Awoooooo, in a small format. Wish you all a good end of this year and a peaceful 2024. Thank you for being such a positive community! :flowers:

Awoooooo is one of my favorites @Agrume, it looks great. Safe travels to you, and Happy New Year, 🎆 and thank you for hosting such a lovely week!

Happy Almost New Year, Scarflandia. With a very warm thank you to @Agrume for hosting us through cashmere week. Thank you also to everyone for sharing so many wonderful pieces-- they are all so beautiful and as @Agrume said, they each assume a particular individuality with each wearer, which is so nice to see.
I would like to close by sharing my first grail CSGM-- and my most recent. I was quite late to the party on this format, but once I dipped my toe in the water, I was quickly swimming in the deep end! After acquiring a few in the regular seasons, I started haunting the Ode to CSGM thread and compiling "The Wish List." At the very top of that list was Parures de Samurais, which was a "gateway design" for me-the one that started it all. I am still a bit afraid of this beautiful piece and tend to baby it more than I should but my New Year's Resolution is to actually wear some of my grail acquisitions. We shall see how I do!
View attachment 5920352
And my most recent acquisition, which I was fortunate to find at a fair price, was another design I have collected in multiples because I love it so much. Introducing my new-to-me Ex Libris en Kimonos in cw 07-- a beautiful, lush, astonishing wonder. I am thrilled to have it. (Editing to add that I am pretty sure I am twins with @Croisette7!).

WOW, just wow! :woohoo:Such stunning shawls @LKBNOLA. This is my first year collecting CSGMs and I already have four in my collection - they are addictive! Thank you for the lovely examples and inspiration.

I'm happy to hear that you're on the mend and I hope up and about very soon.

Happy to be your Dressage Tressage sister.

Wrapped up in my new muffler and a poncho to visit my grandparents this morning.

Your Patchwork Horse is such a cheerful, pretty colorway @Cookiefiend, and I'm delighted to see your On a Summer Day GT.

For @Living.la.vida.fifi, these are my other two Brise de Charme. (Forgive the not so great mod shots, as I am under the weather and am struggling to feel human.) I have four 100 cm cashmere/silk scarves in my collection from the Men's Department. I find this size to be more wearable than the much larger 140 cm format. Beginning at the upper left and moving clockwise they are:

You have a great collection of 100cm @Redbirdhermes. This is a size I really like too! I only have one, but I'm keeping my eyes open for others - 2024 looks like it's going to have a couple of nice options to consider.

You can't go wrong with Awooo @frenchgirl, although your sweet grandson may disagree. I'm sure once he gets to know your lovely wolf, they'll become fast friends.

I've been eyeing this GT on the website @Awillow, I'm so happy to see your pic. The colors are so pretty!

31 Dec 2023 The Oscarfs Return! Awards for the best of the best buys of 2023

Wishing everyone in Scarflandia a Happy New Year’s Eve! As our silken year comes to an end, I’d like to say that it has been an absolute pleasure to spend time here week after week and an honor to be able to host this, my favorite week on SOTD.

We finally have a chance to tally up all our silk acquisitions of the year. I plan to share all the scarves that entered my collection in 2023: new season scarves, oldies found on the resale market and Grails fulfilled. This is the week our 2023 silks walk the red carpet and receive The Oscarfs!
BF800EBB-CD23-4422-9469-D6F336157F07.jpeg

This was a wonderful year for me as far as silks go. I was able to collect my favorites from each season and to add a variety of formats to my collection. I found some coveted Grails and accomplished a bit of CCP as well.

I begin by choosing my favorite scarves from each season and now present my Oscarf for Best Scarf of the Spring/Summer 2023 Collection to Costume de Fete. I fell in love with this design and got it in two CWs

My Oscarf to the Best Scarf of the Fall/Winter 2023 Collection goes to Parade en Fanfare.
B9DD815E-FB0F-4B1D-BCD5-B2A19DF248B6.jpeg

I continue with a magnificent surprise I received as a Christmas gift… My only double-sided scarf of the year and a true masterpiece IMO: Brandebourgs Fleuri. This one is in a category of its own as I am in blown away by its beauty. Perhaps it should win the Oscarf for Favorite Double-Sided Scarf and Newest Grail.
A1CF7195-4B65-405F-B858-16C3B48ADE25.jpeg

And, finally, a Grail that I had almost lost hope of ever finding again. My Oscarf for Best Grail of the Year goes to Dans un Jardin Anglais. In March of 2019, I ran across this design in the fuchsia CW at my local Hermès boutique. I tried it on and left it behind for I had a huge wishlist that season. When I returned to the store a few days later, it was gone. I’ve regretted doing that ever since as, with time, it became an elusive dream. Well, this year I was able to make that dream a reality and here it is. Below, a picture I took in 2019 when I tried on at Hermès and that has haunted me until very recently when I was finally able to make it mine.

I look forward to a fabulous week as we recap our silken journey this year. Needless to say, our actual SOTDs are always welcome as well as our scarf mail. I invite everyone to participate in giving out our 2023 Oscarf awards as we celebrate another great year in this forum and welcome a new year together in this wonderful community.

This could not be a more perfect pairing @violetkool! Your new muffler and plaid poncho were made for each other!

That's great @Agrume-- twice the scarf options if DH has and will share! Thank you for your compliment on ELeK...

Both are gorgeous @Marta_K-- and I hope you continue to recuperate quickly.

Thank you both @Croisette7 and @orchard-- you both know how much I admire your collections!

Oh no, I am sorry you are also under the weather @Awillow. 'Tis the season, right? You look marvelous in both your Brise de Charmes moussies-- the border on the second is TDF.

Welcome back @frenchgirl -- so nice to see you. I love your Awooooo-- so pretty with the contrast hem. My own little granddaughter loves to inspect my scarves for animals but I don't think she has ever met the wolf!

Love seeing this on you @Awillow-- maybe this is the orange H vitamin C you need today!

Thank you so much @Mary Ann G -- it was a dedicated hunt to find those CSGMs in the condition and colors I so badly wanted. That's what makes the reward so sweet...

Well, you are ending the year with a bang @bunnycat! I love love love your new GT-- it is perfect for you in every way. You know your JL CSGM is my favorite of all the colorways ... :girlsigh: And besides wishing youand the kitties and Mr BCat a veryHappy New Year let me extend my appreciation for all you do to make these fun theme weeks happen for us all! :flowers:

Thank you so much -- you are always so sweet @Jereni!

It is beautiful @Ashanti_Rose -- this is a fabulous design-- I didn't know it at all until I saw @MAGJES post it awhile back and of course now I am more familiar with the artists' work (Eleftheria, Ferry Tales). Just amazing artistry. Your additions never cease to amaze me. There must be a secret CSGM source that only you have the treasure map to... I really love this on you-- as you said to @Nomad it is detailed without feeling "busy"... (And thank you for the PdS and ELeK love!)

All are lovely-- I think the OaSD triangle would be a fresh and lovely addition for you @Karenska! It is such a great design.

Thank you @Nomad-- We often have similar "reserved" spots for grails so I know you "get" my total joy at finding it. Also you are my PdS twin and my inspiration for actually wearing it more often in the coming year!

Thank you for showing us your beautifully curated collection of cashmeres @Karenska. Sending the same warm wishes for 2024 to you and thanking you also for all you do to make Scarflandia such a fun and welcoming place. I really appreciate your comments today and always, dear friend!

Thank you on both counts dear @SilkCouture!

All are gorgeous. I have loved seeing your wonderful and beautifully composed collages @EtsyBoss!

Your Parures collection is simply marvelous @Living.la.vida.fifi! #goals Something to aspire to, for sure. And thank you, we shall see if I can keep my "scarfsolution" nest year!

Well now you have truly raised the ante for mod shots @SilkCouture! Not only a beautifully styled scarf and radiant smile but the perfectly coordinated backdrop to same. Brava! And I wish the same for you in 2024 and share your feelings about this lovely space and the people who make it so...

Thank you @Maedi-- I love seeing people's "first" of a kind and that you are still wearing it -- lovely colors and the design is so fun...
Thank you so kindly LKB! Well @xincinsin was very hard at work getting the draft together and we all had a great time fluffing it all up in to a new year’s schedule. Now is only to post, corral this old thread and get the next one rolling next week. It’s a group effort for sure.

But hey, I had some catching up to do. ...right? ;)

To be fair, one of the DA scarves is a color correction - my first Petite Main was never worn (by me, anyway), so it'll be off to find a new silk lover. What I learned was: I cannot buy a pile of scarves expecting to send most back... DH is a terrible enabler!!!

I'm off to have a lie down and think about what I've done...
this Made me laugh haha. We have all been there with the “I’ll just keep best one of the order” . Love seeing your groupings. When one is the dark lower left in second pick? I have often thought of your Masan. I’ll pay attention when I see you wear it. You might become my enabler ;)

Dear Snausages and Orchard
I want to send you a special thank you for sharing these treasures with us. I too wish CSPM were still available at H. In terms of designs and CWs they were every bit as exquisite as CSGM. I feel presently H is not as generous with their smaller CS formats.
Thank you @Marta_K
One can only hope H revives the CSPMs at some stage.
