And of course one last view of my much loved cashmere and silk scarves, CSGMs, triangles, a pointu and a wool-silk mix.
The first photo is from last week, the other ones are from the archives. Those lead me on a very slippery slope as well
I went from one in 2021 to nine at the end of 2023. :happydance:

You look amazing, as always, Katharina! A great collage, but I miss your wonderful Sous le Cedre.
This is so unbelievably beautiful dear @Croisette7! Such a perfect CW! Wishing you a wonderful New Year and a special thanks to you for always generously sharing your gorgeous collection with us!
Thank you for your kind words, und ich wünsche Dir ebenfalls ein glückliches, gesundes Neues Jahr!

Dear all
I am in the kitchen the entire day, and will not get to wear more scarfs this year. But I look forward to the next and to share my Oscarfs nominees with you in early 2024.

For now I just want to Thank you all for 2023 and to wish you all a happy new year, a festive night of celebration and cheers.

May your silks never wrinkle, May your troubles be as rare as Homage du Shakcleton, May your scarf drawers be forever brimming and May your happy moments be plentiful as versions of BdG !!!
:drinks:

Thank you, @Agrume, for a fantastic week filled with cozy, warm, and large-format CSGMs. I'm thrilled to be a part of this community and want to wish everyone a year fillled with joy, laughter, and cherished moments. Happy 2024! 🌟

Today's SOTD is La Selle Imaginaire in Marine/Blanc/Bleu Jean. @Jereni , I've shared the step-by-step guide here: (Example link)

Thank you for the tutorial!!! I’m pleased to see it seems much easier than I expected. Also is that like, Switzerland behind you? GORGEOUS.

31 Dec 2023 The Oscarfs Return! Awards for the best of the best buys of 2023

Wishing everyone in Scarflandia a Happy New Year’s Eve! As our silken year comes to an end, I’d like to say that it has been an absolute pleasure to spend time here week after week and an honor to be able to host this, my favorite week on SOTD.

We finally have a chance to tally up all our silk acquisitions of the year. I plan to share all the scarves that entered my collection in 2023: new season scarves, oldies found on the resale market and Grails fulfilled. This is the week our 2023 silks walk the red carpet and receive The Oscarfs!

This was a wonderful year for me as far as silks go. I was able to collect my favorites from each season and to add a variety of formats to my collection. I found some coveted Grails and accomplished a bit of CCP as well.

I begin by choosing my favorite scarves from each season and now present my Oscarf for Best Scarf of the Spring/Summer 2023 Collection to Costume de Fete. I fell in love with this design and got it in two CWs

My Oscarf to the Best Scarf of the Fall/Winter 2023 Collection goes to Parade en Fanfare.

I continue with a magnificent surprise I received as a Christmas gift… My only double-sided scarf of the year and a true masterpiece IMO: Brandebourgs Fleuri. This one is in a category of its own as I am in blown away by its beauty. Perhaps it should win the Oscarf for Favorite Double-Sided Scarf and Newest Grail.

And, finally, a Grail that I had almost lost hope of ever finding again. My Oscarf for Best Grail of the Year goes to Dans un Jardin Anglais. In March of 2019, I ran across this design in the fuchsia CW at my local Hermès boutique. I tried it on and left it behind for I had a huge wishlist that season. When I returned to the store a few days later, it was gone. I’ve regretted doing that ever since as, with time, it became an elusive dream. Well, this year I was able to make that dream a reality and here it is. Below, a picture I took in 2019 when I tried on at Hermès and that has haunted me until very recently when I was finally able to make it mine.

I look forward to a fabulous week as we recap our silken journey this year. Needless to say, our actual SOTDs are always welcome as well as our scarf mail. I invite everyone to participate in giving out our 2023 Oscarf awards as we celebrate another great year in this forum and welcome a new year together in this wonderful community.

Ohhh wow. This will be such a fun week! You selections are all gorgeous. Love your pair of CdFs and of course the PeF as you know. And congrats on that Jardin Anglais!!! I was lucky enough also to nab one this year.

I didn't get to participate much this week and with it being vacation I did have some time to take a really close look at collection, and wash and iron a whole bunch!! Sorry for doing a photo dump. It just been helpful for me to see 🙇‍♀️

Here is my csgm collection in entirety of a total of 8.( 2 others on resale pile). I have about 6 more on a wishlist, spanning a wider color range like adding red.

Horrible lighting, My sotd yesterday…

And I can’t remember if I posted this yet. I have actually worn it a bunch since acquiring it from my scarfie friend this month :hbeat: .
Appaloosa. And I believe it’s @EtsyBoss I am twins with

And my only silk triangle which I acquired not long ago, in summer maybe. Sarasa. Which I LOVE! I would get more triangles.

My one SGM winter twill Cheval Phoenix
View attachment 5920641
My one large cotton in a stole size format ( my other in rehome pile). Savana

And my moussies ( 3 others on rehome pile). And admit the bottom two might also join that pile

And there it is. My whole larger warmer shebang.
Sorry such a big post!!

Your collages are so very good. I need to figure out how to make something similar. Love all of these, esp the Appaloosa, the Sarah’s triangle (those colors!) and the Savana Dance!

Thank you @Croisette7 , @Marta_K , @LKBNOLA, and @Nomad thank you so much for your kind words!

The scarce indoor lighting and the playful teasing from my DH, DD, and DS about my scarf selfies have indeed inspired me to venture outdoors for my photos. It’s heartwarming to share this H journey with others who appreciate these little moments. @LKBNOLA I deeply resonate with your sentiments about our wonderful community. Here’s to embracing more beauty, joy, and silk connection in 2024!

Well now you have truly raised the ante for mod shots @SilkCouture! Not only a beautifully styled scarf and radiant smile but the perfectly coordinated backdrop to same. Brava! And I wish the same for you in 2024 and share your feelings about this lovely space and the people who make it so...
Thank you dear @Nomad for all your help this year, you’re so sweet!!
I am loving this new tie! And you look so lovely. Happy New Year and am just so happy you have joined us!! You are an amazing scarfie here
Thank you!! It’s always a pleasure
You look positively regal in your navies and blues, SilkCouture  thank you for sharing this step by step guide to your beautiful knot

Let me begin by offering everyone my best wishes for a healthy and happy New Year full of peace and blessings and for all of us here- scarves! I am so grateful to have this oasis of talented, smart, stylish and slightly insane silk fellow travelers to share my passion with and get a daily dose of beauty, friendship and fun. And now, on to a favorite theme week!
My first Oscarfs category is for Best Consignment Store Finds of 2023. I used to love to pop into the beautiful vintage and consignment shops along Madison Avenue in NYC, or poke my head into the Housing Works "Thrift" shop full of high end donations to a worthy cause. The Pandemic put an end to that. Like many here the bulk of my collection has been acquired through H.Com or online resellers supplemented increasingly by a return to boutique purchases (and intra-scarfie trades and sells-- the best!). But these four lovely pieces were found in brick and mortar stores chock-a-block with clothing, jewelry and accessories. It was a joy to find them, to support the local small businesses, to recycle and reuse beautiful pieces and of course, not pay a King's Ransom to do so!

A beautiful and apropos toast for Scarflandia @HermesEchidna! Happy New Year and happy cooking! I look forward to another year of your great posts full of humor, puns and beautiful silks (and brooches!).

Thank you @MabelJo! I will be so curious to see your choices! Always fun to start the New Year with some Scarf Goals!!!

I think you are just a really discerning and sharp-eyed collector @Ashanti_Rose and you always make such interesting points. I could use some pointers on all your shawl maintenance strategies--especially de-fuzzing my lovely new consignment finds! Also it is so disappointing that the men's collection has no new 140s! It is always fun to sneak over there and see what's available...

They are totally addictive @MabelJo! I made myself a very strict Wish List of older designs, including my two grails (missing two more) and have been ruthlessly on task. Sometimes one gets lucky and finds some extra CSGM joy in unexpected places...

Your large format collection is simply stunning and impeccably curated @Nomad-- I love all of them and am so impressed with your choices. I agree that you should not get rid of the moussie and I can't wait to see what you get to go in the other "slots" you have reserved in the coming year!

This is so vibrant and wonderful and perfect on you @GloWW0rM! Happy New Year to you and your family!

A wonderful collage and a great start for any collection-- I love your "award" for Scarf Discovery @violetkool. Thank you for being such a fun and creative prescence and for adding your voice, your unique styling and your fun approach to the group! Happy New Year with many more scarves to join your merry band...

A healthy, happy and peaceful New Year to you dear @Croisette7 and thank you for all you do for all of us here in Scarflandia. So grateful for the beautiful silks, fabulous styling and gorgeous jewelry/jacket combos you share with us, as well as your always lovely and gracious comments to each person here. And speaking of amazing combos-- your beautiful silk cuffs! So perfect with your stunning PdS. :flowers:

You should, you should @Agrume! And @Marta_K is about to enable you also! It has a lovely balance and many colors that you will really love.... Happy New Year to you! Enjoy your sojourn in Berlin.

I love your posts @Sylt Lover -- always so beautifully tied and styled. Hoping you have more time to post in the New Year and looking forward to seeing your collection grow-- each and every one of these is Oscarf-worthy in its own right! Happy New Year to you...

You look amazing and wow! What a terrific job you have done with your large format collection @Katharina Luise! AND you always have the best mod shots, too. Thank you for your kind words and for your presence here. Your posts always lift my spirits. I send you wishes for a healthy and happy New Year and a fun celebration ringing it in tonight...
Thank you for your kind words dear @LKBNOLA. I will definitely try to post more next year.

I also often wish I had a shop in or near to my hometown! But I think then there would even be more damage to my credit card than it is now! So for me it is also the web. And the annual visit to the shop on the island we obviously both love ;) I love your purchases of this year! Ich wünsche Dir ein wunderbares Neues Jahr
Thank you very much @Katharina Luise Indeed, having a shop nearby would definitely be much more dangerous for my wallet
Happy to meet another Sylt lover 😉 I was wondering if the 4th of the beautiful images you shared was taken on the island? Dir auch ein frohes neues Jahr!
