Happy Almost New Year, Scarflandia. With a very warm thank you to @Agrume for hosting us through cashmere week. Thank you also to everyone for sharing so many wonderful pieces-- they are all so beautiful and as @Agrume said, they each assume a particular individuality with each wearer, which is so nice to see.
I would like to close by sharing my first grail CSGM-- and my most recent. I was quite late to the party on this format, but once I dipped my toe in the water, I was quickly swimming in the deep end! After acquiring a few in the regular seasons, I started haunting the Ode to CSGM thread and compiling "The Wish List." At the very top of that list was Parures de Samurais, which was a "gateway design" for me-the one that started it all. I am still a bit afraid of this beautiful piece and tend to baby it more than I should but my New Year's Resolution is to actually wear some of my grail acquisitions. We shall see how I do!

And my most recent acquisition, which I was fortunate to find at a fair price, was another design I have collected in multiples because I love it so much. Introducing my new-to-me Ex Libris en Kimonos in cw 07-- a beautiful, lush, astonishing wonder. I am thrilled to have it. (Editing to add that I am pretty sure I am twins with @Croisette7!).

Oh my, Lkb. These are both fantabulous! I adore this samourais, and that ex-libris! What a find! Amazing! Congrats! So many !!!!!! :faint:

Dear all
I am in the kitchen the entire day, and will not get to wear more scarfs this year. But I look forward to the next and to share my Oscarfs nominees with you in early 2024.

For now I just want to Thank you all for 2023 and to wish you all a happy new year, a festive night of celebration and cheers.

May your silks never wrinkle, May your troubles be as rare as Homage du Shakcleton, May your scarf drawers be forever brimming and May your happy moments be plentiful as versions of BdG !!!
:drinks:
HE - your NY wishes are brilliant! You get the Oscar for the best sense of humor on this thread! Thank you for a good laugh and Happy New Year!

Thank you @Agrume for hosting last week! I've been sick and still trying to catch up with everyone's posts (so much eye candy!), I've been enjoying all the posts.

I've managed to find quite a lot of scarves this year that it's hard to pick one or two!

One of my favourites is definitely Vallee de Cristal, love it so much I got two! Wearing the pink one for last minute errands.

Wishing everyone a happy new year! I'm so happy to have discovered this wonderful community of scarfies. May the new year bring more wonderful silky treasures and grails to you all.

SOT morning was Sous le Charme d’Orphee - the celestial vibes seemed on point for New Years Eve.

This year… I bought all the scarves. Lol. ALL of them. I’d share this year’s purchases as a year-end summary but it would be super embarrassing. However, I will think on some Oscarf award categories for featuring a few of them.

Oh, my dear @Jereni, we feel your (wallet) pain! There is even a name for it: “exuberant scarf acquisition syndrome” (copyright @LKBNOLA)! Should you choose to accept it, a nomination for an OSCARF for the ‘most exuberant scarf hunter’ is surely yours :winkiss:

Seriously, your joyful discovery and pursuit of silk this year has been so much fun to watch, and to share in vicariously. Your excitement has been infectious and you’ve quickly become a vibrant part of this wonderful fellowship of scarfies. Thank you for sharing your silks, and your journey, with us

This is so ingenious and made me laugh out loud!!! I think this should be the official well-wishes of Scarflandia residents!!!

Let me begin by offering everyone my best wishes for a healthy and happy New Year full of peace and blessings and for all of us here- scarves! I am so grateful to have this oasis of talented, smart, stylish and slightly insane silk fellow travelers to share my passion with and get a daily dose of beauty, friendship and fun. And now, on to a favorite theme week!
My first Oscarfs category is for Best Consignment Store Finds of 2023. I used to love to pop into the beautiful vintage and consignment shops along Madison Avenue in NYC, or poke my head into the Housing Works "Thrift" shop full of high end donations to a worthy cause. The Pandemic put an end to that. Like many here the bulk of my collection has been acquired through H.Com or online resellers supplemented increasingly by a return to boutique purchases (and intra-scarfie trades and sells-- the best!). But these four lovely pieces were found in brick and mortar stores chock-a-block with clothing, jewelry and accessories. It was a joy to find them, to support the local small businesses, to recycle and reuse beautiful pieces and of course, not pay a King's Ransom to do so!

Great idea for a category!!! I have not yet found brick-and-mortar resellers to haunt yet but I’m sure that is the next phase of my descent.

That Duo d’Etriers is gorgeous and somewhat life-changing. Dang it, another one to add to the grail list.

This is like the kindest message I’ve ever received on TPF - thank you so so much!!! I feel very fortunate to have found such a welcoming place to indulge in joy over silky goodness, with all you lovely people!!!

Happy New Year's Eve to Everyone! Winter has finally come to the North, and while we had a brown Christmas, we will be having a white New Year. Welcome to @Living.la.vida.fifi and thank you for all your work this year and for the wonderful introduction to a retrospective look at our scarves during the past year. Thank you also to all the scarf mistresses and guest scarf mistresses who help to lead and educate us about our scarves during the year.

Early in the year the CCP or Colorway Correction Program (thank you @LKBNOLA for this delightful acronym) was in full swing. A review of my 2023 acquisitions shows that seven scarves entered the collection because they had a more desired colorway. I discovered that I have not always divested the less desired colorway, but these scarves may yet move on during 2024.

Entering the collection during 2023 under the CCP were:

Animapolis in Red (thanks to inspiration by @FizzyWater)

Animapolis - Red.jpg

Clair de Lune in Marine

Le Carnaval des Animaux in Bleu Lavande

Perspective in Gray

There are three additional scarves which were acquired late in the year, and have not yet been worn.

Trophees de Venise in Blue (inspired by @momasaurus)

20231231_115304.jpg

Mineraux in Brick Red (inspired by @xincinsin)

20231231_115030.jpg

and, Paddock for the 2010 Chicago store opening (inspired by my disappointment that there was no special scarf for the 2023 store reopening on my visit to the Chicago boutique, but there was one for 2010)

I'm wearing Mineraux as my scarf of the day. My love for colored gemstones predates my love for Hermes scarves by many years. Mineraux is a fitting winner of the CCP Oscarf.

@Nomad - here are a few flat pics of the Silk Mix. There were other stunning CWs as well.. the details are exquisite indeed.

31 Dec 2023 The Oscarfs Return! Awards for the best of the best buys of 2023

Wishing everyone in Scarflandia a Happy New Year’s Eve! As our silken year comes to an end, I’d like to say that it has been an absolute pleasure to spend time here week after week and an honor to be able to host this, my favorite week on SOTD.

We finally have a chance to tally up all our silk acquisitions of the year. I plan to share all the scarves that entered my collection in 2023: new season scarves, oldies found on the resale market and Grails fulfilled. This is the week our 2023 silks walk the red carpet and receive The Oscarfs!

This was a wonderful year for me as far as silks go. I was able to collect my favorites from each season and to add a variety of formats to my collection. I found some coveted Grails and accomplished a bit of CCP as well.

I begin by choosing my favorite scarves from each season and now present my Oscarf for Best Scarf of the Spring/Summer 2023 Collection to Costume de Fete. I fell in love with this design and got it in two CWs

My Oscarf to the Best Scarf of the Fall/Winter 2023 Collection goes to Parade en Fanfare.

I continue with a magnificent surprise I received as a Christmas gift… My only double-sided scarf of the year and a true masterpiece IMO: Brandebourgs Fleuri. This one is in a category of its own as I am in blown away by its beauty. Perhaps it should win the Oscarf for Favorite Double-Sided Scarf and Newest Grail.

And, finally, a Grail that I had almost lost hope of ever finding again. My Oscarf for Best Grail of the Year goes to Dans un Jardin Anglais. In March of 2019, I ran across this design in the fuchsia CW at my local Hermès boutique. I tried it on and left it behind for I had a huge wishlist that season. When I returned to the store a few days later, it was gone. I’ve regretted doing that ever since as, with time, it became an elusive dream. Well, this year I was able to make that dream a reality and here it is. Below, a picture I took in 2019 when I tried on at Hermès and that has haunted me until very recently when I was finally able to make it mine.

I look forward to a fabulous week as we recap our silken journey this year. Needless to say, our actual SOTDs are always welcome as well as our scarf mail. I invite everyone to participate in giving out our 2023 Oscarf awards as we celebrate another great year in this forum and welcome a new year together in this wonderful community.
Gorgeous intro, fifi! I hate those regrets like your DuJA. I have a few of those. Darn budgets! So glad you found her at last - she is a beauty.

Off topic today with Savana Dance.

Thank you dear @Agrume for hosting the cosy cashmere and large format week and thank you dear @Living.la.vida.fifi for introduction to this week's delightful theme and a great THANK YOU to all wonderful and creative hostesses and mistresses!
To each and every member of Scarflandia - the very best wishes for the New Year, may it be healthy, peaceful and full of love, friendship and joy:drinks:
This year I took the courage to start posting here myself, after a good many years of being just an ardent yet dormant reader and well-wisher, and the welcome and support from you, dear Scarfies, couldn't have been more heartwarming:hugs:So it goes without saying that my first personal Oscarf of 2023 goes to You all, wonderfully creative, friendly and yes a bit insane (as @LKBNOLA aptly pointed out/admitted) community of Scarflandia:wave:

Dear LKBNOLA
What ingenious category ;) and what amazing finds! There is no chance to come across such treasures where I live, as first we don't have real-life consignment stores, and second, local internet pre-loved luxury items market is in its infancy at best, but I am very happy for you, what an hawk-eye you must have. Duo d’Etriers itself is an Oscarf winner for sure, I am joining others in adding this CW to my wishlist :)
