I didn't get to participate much this week and with it being vacation I did have some time to take a really close look at collection, and wash and iron a whole bunch!! Sorry for doing a photo dump. It just been helpful for me to see 🙇‍♀️

Here is my csgm collection in entirety of a total of 8.( 2 others on resale pile). I have about 6 more on a wishlist, spanning a wider color range like adding red.

And there it is. My whole larger warmer shebang.
Sorry such a big post!!
Gorgeous @Nomad! I love your Early America one in particular and your Samouris collection is to die for! Yes, we are twins on Appaloosa with @LKBNOLA. Congratulations on finding that one!

First, thank you lovely scarf and guest scarf mistresses for a wonderful year. The themes have been so much fun, educational, inspiring, and enabling. I appreciate the effort and time each of you put into planning the year's themes and into the wonderful hosting and posts. Thank you!
:ps:

I also want to thank each and every person on this thread. This is the most wonderful space on the internet and I'm so grateful to be a part of it. I learn so much from your posts, pictures, and kind & thoughtful comments - there's nothing better than sitting down to the warmth and generosity of fellow Scarifies. This thread has become a lovely part of my daily routine. :hugs:

Lastly, my first Oscarf goes to Les Ailes de Pegase. It is the first scarf I purchased and it's the CS I've worn the most. It's my grab-and-go, casual thrown on. Here's a pic from earlier in the week when I ran out to buy a new vacuum cleaner :broom::

Les Ailes de Pagase.jpg

Happy New Year! :yahoo: I'm wishing each of you a happy and healthy 2024 surrounded by the people and fur-babies you love. And many, many new scarves, of course!

This year's Oscar for the Best Vintage Design I received this year goes out to Les Mythologies des Hommes Rouges by Kermit Oliver, my second KO this year and an absolute design wonder. I feel so fortunate to own not one but two KOs. My other is the gorgeous Tsitsika that pays homage to the peoples of the Pacific Northwest coast. This one celebrates the native people of North America more broadly, focusing on those of the United States. It is so detailed and beautifully rendered. Every time I look at it I notice a new detail. There is a lot to love in Kermit Oliver's designs!

A special award goes to Mr. Etsy Boss for Best Supporting Actor in the Acquisitions Department for gifting the Mythologies to me for Christmas - and keeping it a secret! When I saw this design modeled here (I wish I could remember which one of you is responsible! @Cookiefiend maybe??) I fell in love and showed the Mr who took a shine to it as well. Then the hunt began. I found / suggested two and he chose the much prettier but more costly one (good man!). They're both stuck with me for life

At the heart of the design is a circle of plains animals such as bear, white tailed deer, sandhill cranes, and bison that I remember fondly from childhood camping trips. Each corner depicts what I believe must be essentially the different peoples of the four corners of the US. I'm especially fond of the bear and the bison and the woman standing on the turtle / tortoise with the wood rat (?) who might represent the people who were native to the area that is now Florida, not sure. This scarf also has a charming border of delicate white flowers running on two of the four sides which none of my ties shows off particularly well. Colors are sand, pale blue, sage, a bit of rouge and brown, very Earth tone and with a great marine / teal border that is quite subdues as to be possibly charcoal.

There you have it, the extraordinary and so graily KO Mythologies des Hommes Rouges of which I am tickled and thrilled to be the new protector. Did I mention it looked like it had never been worn?!

Dear Scarfies
In 2023 I bought 8 H items (to me, it means I went far overboard). These purchases however included only two 90 Carres - my long time grail Jaguar Quetzal carre:
20230803_091007.jpg
and En Liberte! carre:
20230809_203919.jpg
I am relieved that - as regards scarves, at least - it means I managed to adhere to my resolution to curate my collection and buy only either my true grails or scarves that I am 100% certain will be worth every penny to me. By that I mean scarves which are: 1) versatile both in terms of design and CW, 2) suit my complexion and my wardrobe and 3) add that something "new" to my wardrobe, an end result I couldn't create using something else in my collection already.
I actually intended to wear En Liberte! today on New Year's Eve - with a dress I bought with this scarf in mind especially, as they look as if they were meant to be worn together

Wow! That dress was made for that scarf or vice versa. It's hard to tell where the one ends and the other begins, the colors and design are so harmoniously paired. Standing ovation!

EtsyBoss it is truly stunning, plus your pictures and knots show its beauty to its full! Thank you for sharing and huge congrats! I honestly cannot say whether I like the magnificent centre or the tying-like-a-dream border better

Happy New Year's Eve to Everyone! Winter has finally come to the North, and while we had a brown Christmas, we will be having a white New Year. Welcome to @Living.la.vida.fifi and thank you for all your work this year and for the wonderful introduction to a retrospective look at our scarves during the past year. Thank you also to all the scarf mistresses and guest scarf mistresses who help to lead and educate us about our scarves during the year.

Early in the year the CCP or Colorway Correction Program (thank you @LKBNOLA for this delightful acronym) was in full swing. A review of my 2023 acquisitions shows that seven scarves entered the collection because they had a more desired colorway. I discovered that I have not always divested the less desired colorway, but these scarves may yet move on during 2024.

Entering the collection during 2023 under the CCP were:

Animapolis in Red (thanks to inspiration by @FizzyWater)

Clair de Lune in Marine

There are three additional scarves which were acquired late in the year, and have not yet been worn.

Mineraux in Brick Red (inspired by @xincinsin)

and, Paddock for the 2010 Chicago store opening (inspired by my disappointment that there was no special scarf for the 2023 store reopening on my visit to the Chicago boutique, but there was one for 2010)

I'm wearing Mineraux as my scarf of the day. My love for colored gemstones predates my love for Hermes scarves by many years. Mineraux is a fitting winner of the CCP Oscarf.

The perfect CW!

Oh my, Lkb. These are both fantabulous! I adore this samourais, and that ex-libris! What a find! Amazing! Congrats! So many !!!!!! :faint:
Gorgeous intro, fifi! I hate those regrets like your DuJA. I have a few of those. Darn budgets! So glad you found her at last - she is a beauty.

Off topic today with Savana Dance.
View attachment 5921063
Thank you @Awillow-- you look beautiful in this Savana Dance! Happy New Year and feel better soon!
Thank you @Agrume for hosting last week! I've been sick and still trying to catch up with everyone's posts (so much eye candy!), I've been enjoying all the posts.

I've managed to find quite a lot of scarves this year that it's hard to pick one or two!

One of my favourites is definitely Vallee de Cristal, love it so much I got two! Wearing the pink one for last minute errands.

View attachment 5921023

Wishing everyone a happy new year! I'm so happy to have discovered this wonderful community of scarfies. May the new year bring more wonderful silky treasures and grails to you all.
I think that is one on many Oscarf lists @mktlim-- the pink is lovely on you! Happy New Year and I hope you are recovered now!
SOT morning was Sous le Charme d’Orphee - the celestial vibes seemed on point for New Years Eve.

View attachment 5920980

This year… I bought all the scarves. Lol. ALL of them. I’d share this year’s purchases as a year-end summary but it would be super embarrassing. However, I will think on some Oscarf award categories for featuring a few of them.
Great idea for a category!!! I have not yet found brick-and-mortar resellers to haunt yet but I’m sure that is the next phase of my descent.
That Duo d’Etriers is gorgeous and somewhat life-changing. Dang it, another one to add to the grail list.
Dipping my toe into the Oscarf awards - I am going to start with Best Small Formats.

For me, Best Gavroche of 2023 goes to Lanternes, Concordes, et Ballons, and I have the illustrious @redheaddem to thank for bringing this scarf to my attention.

View attachment 5921097

And Best 70cm of 2023 for me would be Au Royaume d’Helios. This is possibly the happiest scarf in my collection!

View attachment 5921098
I think you win an Oscar for best cw selection for your coloring/wardrobe @Jereni-- you always pick so perfectly and these are no exception. Don't fear sharing your scarf acquisitions here-- this is a Judgement Free Zone when it comes to silk, H, scarves etc. You can actually go into the brick and mortar stores of online resellers like TRR and Fashionphile also @Jereni-- they have multiple locations nationwide. I always ask them to show me the scarf drawer and I have sourced scarves for scarfie friends that way and for myself, too! Duo d'Etriers is a lovely design. This one is cw 08 if it helps your search (and for @Marta_K as well).

What a great category @Redbirdhermes and congratulations on your wonderful CCPs! I love that Mineraux and what a perfect design for you. The blue Trophees de Venise is marvelous and your SE Paddock too. Here's a funny story about my little acronym. I breezily said to my DH that something was not a new-in scarf but "just" a CCP and he looked at me quizzically. "What does the Chinese Communist Party have to do with your scarves", he wondered. Context is everything in this life...Happy New year to you and your family!
@Nomad - here are a few flat pics of the Silk Mix. There were other stunning CWs as well.. the details are exquisite indeed.
Thank you for sharing these @Ashanti_Rose! It would be so lovely to find this! Truly. I'd like to share my last season Ferry Tales men's 100 by the same artist for @MabelJo and @Nomad so they can see the very very distinctive style and brushwork. An amazing artist really-- and the work translates so beautifully to cashmere! Congratulations again on your beautiful find.

My final wear of 2023 is Epaulettes de Gala twilly with the Mini Boucle twilly ring. We're just nipping out to a new cocktail bar in town...

This is most definitely an Oscarf -worthy twilly @violetkool!
Dear LKBNOLA
What ingenious category ;) and what amazing finds! There is no chance to come across such treasures where I live, as first we don't have real-life consignment stores, and second, local internet pre-loved luxury items market is in its infancy at best, but I am very happy for you, what an hawk-eye you must have. Duo d’Etriers itself is an Oscarf winner for sure, I am joining others in adding this CW to my wishlist
Thank you @Marta_K. I am lucky indeed-- two of these were found literally minutes from my daughter's home in NJ. One in Louisiana and the poor Fleurs et Papillons was total luck as my consignment store here was unpacking a large estate delivery and I spied an orange box. I had to wait impatiently while the process of cataloguing/pricing etc took place but I walked away with it. It desperately needed some spa treatment as it reeked of moth balls and the box was a bit battered and mildewed but voila. Kismet! A right time/right place scarf origin story. I am trying to be more attentive to "targets of opportunity"
Happy New Year, my dear, dear Scarf Friends. Blessings to you all and looking forward to sharing the New Year with you in our silks and cashmeres. :hugs:

This has proven to be a truly lovely purchase for you @Karenska! Looking beautiful with your necklace too. Happy New Year to you!
I probably succumbed to the Hermes siren song too many times this year! But a top contender for my Orscarf would be a fairly under the radar design, Le Chat Carré. I loved it so much I got three CWs of it. Here they are... Le Chat does look a bit more like a Raton Laveur to me, but no matter, there is so much to like!View attachment 5921238View attachment 5921239View attachment 5921240View attachment 5921241
I learned that the collective noun for cats is a "clowder" @frenchgirl and seeing your beautiful kitties makes me realize why it was so hard to choose! A charming design with amazing artwork-- I am your blue twin. A lot of people thought the cat looked like a racoon but I think he's just cute no matter what...love the story behind this one!
How exciting it must have been to pop into stores and find these lovelies just waiting for you @LKBNOLA. I particularly love the colors of your Papillons!

:faint: Must. Find. This.

Thank you @MabelJo-- it wasn't *quite* that effortless but they were definitely lucky finds! One must be prepared at times to look through many racks and piles and drawers but all for an excellent cause! Your Leas Ailes is beautiful-- like an Old Master drawing... I love reading your posts and seeing your beautiful collection; you are such an engaged member on the thread it is a pleasure to have you participate. Can't wait to see what you add in 2024. Have a safe and happy New Year!

Congratulations @EtsyBoss -- this is an Oscarf Winner for sure. What a wonderful story and how lovely when we are supported in our collecting endeavor. An amazing gift and a definite award-winning DH. Beautiful corners and details as on all the Kermit Oliver pieces. May you wear it in joy and good health. Happy New Year to you and your family.

Marta, thank you for your sweet comments!

I love Sangles in every cw, beautiful!
That En Liberte is so gorgeous. I love the combo of pink, magenta, lavender and mustard orange/yellow. They did a fantastic job with that shawl.

I love how good you are with closeups of scarves and capturing the details. This is very pretty on you.

Gorgeous large twilly - very cheerful pattern and colors!

These are gorgeous!!! I love Botanica Grafica so much. Horse Club too, I keep debating one of the other cws of that one.

Gorgeous, twin!

Oh my, congratulations on that amazing ELeK shawl!!! What a grail. The colors are amazing, and you glow in it!
Magnificent design most deserving of multiples, especially with your CWs that are so different from each other

Such a beautiful shawl!

Fabulosity!

Definitely has a Palm Springs vibe… Also reminded me of the art of Raoul Dufy… Such a fun and vibrant shawl!

I am always in awe of how beautifully this one ties

All gorgeous, but that Les Aisles is masterful!

You’re a day early for the Oscarfs start tomorrow on SOTD! It will be fun to review our acquisitions this year and ai hope you return to share in more detail!

Gaaaah! My god you are killing me!! They are all magnificent!

This could not be a more perfect pairing @violetkool! Your new muffler and plaid poncho were made for each other!

 We can try to keep each other honest in 2024 @Marta_K-- I realized that even though my Parures CSGM was an early 2022 purchase, I had only four mod shots and only a few more actual wearings. I must get over my fear of wearing grails... The ELeK is a wonder of color and pattern plus that purple hem! The details scarfies dream about...

That's great @Agrume-- twice the scarf options if DH has and will share! Thank you for your compliment on ELeK...

Both are gorgeous @Marta_K-- and I hope you continue to recuperate quickly.

Thank you both @Croisette7 and @orchard-- you both know how much I admire your collections!

Oh no, I am sorry you are also under the weather @Awillow. 'Tis the season, right? You look marvelous in both your Brise de Charmes moussies-- the border on the second is TDF.

Welcome back @frenchgirl -- so nice to see you. I love your Awooooo-- so pretty with the contrast hem. My own little granddaughter loves to inspect my scarves for animals but I don't think she has ever met the wolf!

Love seeing this on you @Awillow-- maybe this is the orange H vitamin C you need today!

Thank you so much @Mary Ann G -- it was a dedicated hunt to find those CSGMs in the condition and colors I so badly wanted. That's what makes the reward so sweet...

Well, you are ending the year with a bang @bunnycat! I love love love your new GT-- it is perfect for you in every way. You know your JL CSGM is my favorite of all the colorways ... :girlsigh: And besides wishing youand the kitties and Mr BCat a veryHappy New Year let me extend my appreciation for all you do to make these fun theme weeks happen for us all! :flowers:

Thank you so much -- you are always so sweet @Jereni!

It is beautiful @Ashanti_Rose -- this is a fabulous design-- I didn't know it at all until I saw @MAGJES post it awhile back and of course now I am more familiar with the artists' work (Eleftheria, Ferry Tales). Just amazing artistry. Your additions never cease to amaze me. There must be a secret CSGM source that only you have the treasure map to... I really love this on you-- as you said to @Nomad it is detailed without feeling "busy"... (And thank you for the PdS and ELeK love!)

All are lovely-- I think the OaSD triangle would be a fresh and lovely addition for you @Karenska! It is such a great design.

Thank you @Nomad-- We often have similar "reserved" spots for grails so I know you "get" my total joy at finding it. Also you are my PdS twin and my inspiration for actually wearing it more often in the coming year!

Thank you for showing us your beautifully curated collection of cashmeres @Karenska. Sending the same warm wishes for 2024 to you and thanking you also for all you do to make Scarflandia such a fun and welcoming place. I really appreciate your comments today and always, dear friend!

Thank you on both counts dear @SilkCouture!

 We have all been exactly in your position I am sure @Mary Ann G-- I even have a name for this condition: Exuberant Scarf Acquisition Syndrome. The good news is that the acute phase is actually quite pleasurable and exciting! It gradually subsides to a chronic condition which is very effectively managed by a steady infusion of more silks. You'll be fine... though you may experience periodic bouts of unpleasant withdrawal agitation if you go too long without your "medication."

All are gorgeous. I have loved seeing your wonderful and beautifully composed collages @EtsyBoss!

Your Parures collection is simply marvelous @Living.la.vida.fifi! #goals Something to aspire to, for sure. And thank you, we shall see if I can keep my "scarfsolution" nest year!

Well now you have truly raised the ante for mod shots @SilkCouture! Not only a beautifully styled scarf and radiant smile but the perfectly coordinated backdrop to same. Brava! And I wish the same for you in 2024 and share your feelings about this lovely space and the people who make it so...

Thank you @Maedi-- I love seeing people's "first" of a kind and that you are still wearing it -- lovely colors and the design is so fun...
Awesome colours, Marta - you can wear anything!

Thank you, LKBNOLA! And yes, the Awooooo is a SE.

Such a beautiful colourway, very festive, Croisette!

Your J d’A are so nice, Orchard! I am always happy when I see this design posted.

You and LKBNOLA model the Summer Day CSGT so convincingly… should I get it, too?

Hope you feel better, Awillow, your Brises are spectacular and I love your Fleurs et Papillons GT.

Love seeing these on you, RBH, and a good scarf to finish this week!

Lovely to be a twin, and hope you will have some more time to post in the new year, frenchgirl. Success with your business!

Thank you, Bunnycat and the scarf team, for organising the next year! Congratulations on your new acquisition!

Thank you, AshantiRose, for showing Ferry Tales, I believe we have not seen this one yet. And your remarks on wearing our treasures are spot on!

Thank you, Karenska, and thank you for sharing your beautiful collection! Especially your Encadres, so calming!

Well done, Mary Ann, and there will be more, we can all testify on this.

Thank you, and so beautiful, these red and blue shades, EtsyBoss!

Thank you, Fifi, and you also have such a vibrant PdV!

Thank you - those detailed instructions are always so helpful, SilkCouture!

Thank you, Maedi, and what a nice pink shade this is!

Thank you, MabelJo! Most of my turtlenecks are from Uniqlo, they have many shades, and you can pick them to suit your scarves…

Thank you for this intro, Fifi, and congratulations on your pink DuJA, I completely understand how one can be obsessed with this design.

Keep them, nomad! They all suit you perfectly!

A really festive cw, GloWW0rM!

Thank you, Violet, and your start in H is Oscarf worthy indeed! Looking forward to see more of your choices!
These are spectacular!
Thank you so much, dear Croisette7, Jereni, Living.la.vida.fifi, LKBNOLA, Agrume and Momasaurus, for your very sweet comments :hugs:

Dear Scarfies
In 2023 I bought 8 H items (to me, it means I went far overboard). These purchases however included only two 90 Carres - my long time grail Jaguar Quetzal carre:

and En Liberte! carre:

Looking forward to seeing all your Oscarfs of 2023!
Holy moley! I need a fainting couch for this styling @Marta_K -- that is totally Oscarf-worthy in every way! Beautiful.

Thank you @Awillow-- you look beautiful in this Savana Dance! Happy New Year and feel better soon!

I think that is one on many Oscarf lists @mktlim-- the pink is lovely on you! Happy New Year and I hope you are recovered now!

This is most definitely an Oscarf -worthy twilly @violetkool!

This has proven to be a truly lovely purchase for you @Karenska! Looking beautiful with your necklace too. Happy New Year to you!

Kismet indeed! And CCP as Chinese Communist Party... made me laughed out laud
