My first fumble with the snail knot. My main problem was that the folds kept getting undone. I'll try this again with other scarves. Would softer or stiffer be better, I wonder? Would a plisse work with this knot?

And emboldened by this non-disaster, I tried a knot which the Synergy Life lady did in another video. She used a 70cm scarf. I had to use a 90, so she must be very petite!

Much gratitude to our savvy knot miester-YSD for sharing this snail knot. :yahoo:
Enjoying it immensely for it’s 90-taming ability, ease, and have been employing it often with it’s variations:

All so beautiful, turfnsurf esp. the turquoise EL!

What a wonderful introduction! And you are the perfect hostess for the week’s theme...
I am loving this Snail Knot so much and will dare to try it tomorrow and will post pics... So excited to try this knot and looking forward to all that I will learn this week

I adore Manege and have seen some wonderful CWs but this blue is simply fabulous

Glorious! What design is this?

Such a great knot for this design, but then, BdG Shadow ties so very beautifully

Great knots in sll the variations, but must say that these are all fantabulous silks!

This is awesome, and so clearly put! Do you happen to have a similar series of pics for the Snail Knot on the YouTube video tutorial? I would love to see it step by step in pictures as you express it so clearly

Looks wonderful on you snd the pendant is so beautiful and unique

You did it! Looks amazing

Such a wonderful way to showcase a necklace! Both pieces, necklace and scarf, work so well together!

You thoroughly mastered the knot! And, beautiful silks!
Thank you, fifi!

One of my go to winter knots is what I call an infinity knot (maybe it has a better name somewhere else??? Who knows!) I did a tut for it over in the "how to" thread in the Ref Lib with I highly recommend! So many of our lovely members have contributed there, with many amazing knots and lots of new ideas in the last 4-6 pages!

Well done, xincinsin!

I guess my favourite scarf is my first shawl, not due to the design but the colours. It was an easy choice, although I was skeptic to the design. A saddle, really ? :amazed: Now I love it, its the Selle d Ófficier en Grande Tenue by Wlodek Kaminski. The shopping experience in Paris was great, and I wear this alot. Irritating whith all the pilling on the big one-colour-areas, though.

I am also very fond of the designs by Pierre Marie. He also designed the Diptyque candels for Christmas season 2018, wich I . Actually have most of this candles from several years back

My favourite designer just now has to be Alice Shirley, the first H-scarf I saw and felt in love with was Zebra Pegasus, but I was too late to the party. I was lucky to find Mountain Zebra though, simply stunning!

Reading this forum has become my mindful moment after work, I really enjoy seeing all this art you are shearing. Thank you! The bad about it, is thats sooo tempting and makes med want a lot more scarfs, haha. The good thing, to live where I live, is that the alternatives in the one H-shop is very limited, and what they have in shop is planned to be sold mostly to tourists from Asia, and the CWs they choose is affected by that. (I was told by a SA). I actually never see people with H-scarfs around. Or bags. (Except for my friend). Its in practice no second-hand market here. And if I would like to by from another country, or from internet, the price will almost double due to import taxes, customes and postage. It limits itself in a way. Witch is probably a good thing...
I wish everyone a good weekend

From one of your earlier posts, I believe we live in the same city near the North Pole:-) I pass said shop every day on my way to work and have visited a few times. I've talked to a couple of the SAs, and only one of them had any knowledge about H scarves and story, whereas one didn't even know the names of the current scarves on display - I had to point out to him the one I was referring to. Buying new scarves for me only happens in London, Brussels and Copenhagen, the one in New Bond Str is a favourite, especially since I was lucky enough to land the last Exceptionel Balade en Berline Kyoto Marble there. Apart from that, it's the Evil bay and various resellers who are my go-to source - best of luck hunting your dream scarves:-)

I adore the animal drawings by Xavier de Poret. I would love to add a scarf with his bird drawings to my collection. I know some of you have these and I am so delighted when they are shared. In the meantime I made sure to get the reissue of Bassets this past season. I also found a vintage Les Poulains recently in excellent condition.

I’m pleased to introduce Les Poulains (the foals) by Xavier de Poret as my scarf of the day.

His animal and bird drawings are wonderful - this is a lovely one! I've got a pale blue one with magpies, Les Pies, and my most treasured one, a cream one with Eurasian hopooes, it's got such a fun Lation name - Upupa epops - so always thinking of that when I'm putting it on. It doesn't tie particularly well and should perhaps best be framed, but I'm running out of wall space:-) Enjoy this!

Oh, your knot is beautiful, dear @xincinsin !
Thanks for trying :hbeat:

To add a little bit more if you're not satisfied with your knot, I think it would be good to make the front corner of the left side more wider.

I pulled the front side of the triangular fold to downward & to left quite a bit when I was tidying it up, so if you look at the picture below, the back half is barely noticeable.

To make left corner (front half of the triangular fold) wider:
(1) pull the scarf on your right (I marked it as A in photo) a little more to the left
20210222_183929.jpgand (2) pull the left corner to more left and downward, and spread it more roundly.

And this is my Ziplock method for adjusting the drapes:

Then,

Sorry that my hand drawings are so bad.. :crybaby:
Hope it helps, dear @xincinsin !!

It would be easier to explain if I could take a video. Next time, I'm going to ask my husband for help! :girlsigh:

I mean, It will be more good to make the final shape if you pull the left corner more to downward and to left side! Make the area of the left corner wider

Thank you for the added details, Yoon. Will try it again.

Zambeze is such a great design - and huge thank you for pointing me toward the 'How to' thread above - not sure how I've missed that, but I am still a newbie.

What a great intro @Yoon daily scarf! I love your snail knot and am going to try it and report back! It’s beautiful!

I’m not a clever knotter. I usually either just chuck it on, or copy shamelessly from the more creative. The recently discovered BFK knot of @Bova123 is a good one!

Two of my favorites are the suuuuper simple bias fold, wrap around and tie, as with yesterday’s SOTD, Dans un Jardin Anglais:

View attachment 4997610

Another I like is to do an oblong fold and then just shove the corners through a scarf ring. Never know what you’re going to get:

Atélier Robert Dallet, L’Ombre des Pivoines, and Domes Celestes.

fab introduction, Yoon, looking forward very much to this week, you are the perfect host for the theme!

wonderful blues, Croisette!

And wonderful reds/oranges, Moma!
Thank you, Agrume!
Very nice picture! Lovely orange colour...
Beautiful match with your jumper.
Merci. Changeants are hard to photograph correctly, but they do match IRL.
What a beautiful intro ❤ and thank you for including the instructional video!
I like your sons name - the Snail knot - so cute!
Do you pleat your scarf? Yours are so neat and crisp looking... mine are a bit crumpled looking! And how do you use the Chain D'Ancre?
(just a heads up - I’ve been taking screen shots like mad, trying to figure out some of your knots - they are so beautiful!)

Thank you! It always make me happy, the entire scarf is just happy!

That is BEAUTIFUL! ❤

Gorgeous, what a lovely mossy/sage green.

Spectacular! Do you prefer the knot with or without the scarf ring? Does it ‘stay’ better one way or the other?

I apologize for asking so many questions so early in the morning - I have several scarf rings bu rarely use them! I need help!
Thanks!
Holy smokes Moma! This is gorgeous!
Thank you, dear.
Thanks a lot for your sweet comment, dear @momasaurus ! I'm looking forward to learning from your beautiful knot too:heart: And your knot with the mousse is so fabulous! It looks like the golden waves

Thank you dear @Agrume ! I'll do my best:heart:
Your CW of Early America is so beautiful, it's so soft and calming

My dear @Cookiefiend, thank you so much for your sweet words! And I made a quick tutorial for you! Hope it helps :hbeat:

Thanks a lot, dear @Pampelmuse ! I love this pretty knot too, glad you like it
And your knots are so neat and beautiful!! The second one is ine of my favorites too

Wow your knots are all beautiful, dear @Pirula !! I'll try the BFK knot too. It's so cute.
And your Dans un Jardin Anglais is my dream scarf... sigh.. It's a splendor! Gorgeous on you
Oh and I can't wait to see your snail knot dear :hbeat:
Golden waves is such a lovely image. Thank you, yoon!
beautiful scarves and knots and what a wonderful intro!
I am very lazy and just do very simple knots, so hope to learn something this week.

love this!

what great colors!

all so beautiful!

Very clear tutorial!
Thanks so much
It´s LEDOUX, moma!

Splendid, dear ... and perfect lip colour!

thank you, Agrume!

Very pretty, twin!

Great intro and tutorial, Yoon!
Of course. You are I were loyal to Ledoux all week, I think. We could have a Ledoux MONTH and I would still learn many things.
Thank you Agrume! :flowers:

Thank you Croisette! :hugs:

beautiful introduction Yoon!!! And thank you for hosting this wonderful week!

Gorgeous colors Croisette!

Wrap and fluff is perfect for these wonderful changeants! Beautiful moma!

Green purple and blue! Faboo! You look marvelous Agrume!

Beautiful know for showing the pink red and white!

All stunners Pirula! (Esp the Dallet! )
Wrap and fluff. Right! It's all in the basic material.
Moma this scarf is fab! Can you tell us more about it? What design is it? The corner looks like cuirs desert but I don’t know if it was made in mousseline format...:flowers:

Wonderful into @Yoon daily scarf ! You are the perfect one to host this weeks theme! Thank you for sharing this amazing knot, it is one of my favorites I have seen you model. This is going to be a knotty week!:PI look forward to everyone’s favourite knots!:flowers:
Thanks. Yes, as @Cookiefiend said, it's Brise de Charme. A bit tricky because the design keeps its original 90 size with a huge border. But changeants have their own "charme" !!
How sweet of you to say- this group has taught me SO MANY!!

Thanks :flowers:
I was holding out for another cw, but when I discovered this one I was smitten

Thanks bunches dear Croisette :winkiss:
*It’s funny that you mention the ‘red Ferronnerie’; as that’s always how I think of it (and picture in my head the bright red cw); only another Scarfie could commiserate that I panicked when I couldn’t locate it in with my red stash, but found it with the burgundy instead! :giggle:
*Is misremembering your owned cw a sign of having too many scarves?:whut:

PERFECT kick-off! (I’m tickled pink by the thought of us being silk explorers)
I’ve been singing the praises of your Snail knot since you shared the video not too long ago... it’s my hands-down current favorite. :hbeat:
Looking forward to this week- thank you for hosting

Such an elegant effect (what a sultry changeant!) against the burgundy sweater. Your hair is so beautiful :girlsigh:
You are so kind. I've been about to attack my hair (winter, static, flat shape, general annoyance), so I will remember your comment!
Great tutorial and so easy to follow. Thank you!

I am really looking forward to this week's posts! Your intro was exceptional and you have a remarkable talent for knotting your gorgeous silks!

So pretty with yellow.

Absolutely stunning!! WoW!

I love greens and this one is so pretty!

Great colorways especially that JuDA. I've also been hunting a Domes. The prume/purple you have is a beauty!
Thank you!

Thank you. It's Brise de charme. One of those 140s where the design is in its original scale in the center, with lots of border around it.

Oooh, I like this last knot. Too often these "rosette" knots make me look like an Elizabethan dog, but this one is cool.
