Gorgeous, pirula. This is the colorway of CP I have looked for in the past, and I adore you DuJA and Atelier, especially. DuJA are rare as hen's teeth, it seems.

Thank you Awillow. I hope you can find your Cheval Phoenix, it is truly wonderful. Versatile and so very soft. I had no idea JA was so rare??? The Atelier is extra special as I got it at FSH with a friend.

Thank you Agrume! :flowers:

Thank you Croisette! :hugs:

beautiful introduction Yoon!!! And thank you for hosting this wonderful week!

Gorgeous colors Croisette!

Wrap and fluff is perfect for these wonderful changeants! Beautiful moma!

Green purple and blue! Faboo! You look marvelous Agrume!

Beautiful know for showing the pink red and white!

All stunners Pirula! (Esp the Dallet! )

Thanks dear!:hugs:

I dunno... these all look pretty clever to me... and beautiful!

This is a great knot and color!

Oh. My. Gosh!
Thank you! This is a perfect tutorial! :hugs:

Thank you!

Looks great Pirula! And thanks for the shout out lol! It looks like you are tying this after wrapping vs. simply weaving like a hacking knot? Either way it looks great and perhaps you can claim the tying version as your own... the PFK!

Yes on this one I tied instead of weaving. Lol on the PFK!

Here's a vote for the "suuuper" simple bias fold! It replaced the traditional ascot as my #1 (more casual...)

Great tutorial and so easy to follow. Thank you!

I am really looking forward to this week's posts! Your intro was exceptional and you have a remarkable talent for knotting your gorgeous silks!

So pretty with yellow.

Absolutely stunning!! WoW!

I love greens and this one is so pretty!

Great colorways especially that JuDA. I've also been hunting a Domes. The prume/purple you have is a beauty!

Thank you! The DC was a grail for me for awhile. So happy to have it. Don’t give up!

Happy Sunday, dear Scarflandians!

I’m so excited to be the host of our weekly theme SOTD! It's an honor for me. I appreciate that @Living.la.vida.fifi invited me to host this week, thank you so much for giving me an opportunity to participate in this wonderful thread. And many thanks to @Cookiefiend for guiding us through the amazing week of Sweetheart Silk

This week’s theme is Tying the knot: Your favorite ways to wear a scarf.

There’s something special about Hermès' scarves – I love their rich colors, exceptional graphics and unrivaled silk quality! There are many ways to enjoy this marvelous silk. It would be great to hang it on the wall with frame, but I prefer to wear it as the ultimate accessories that enhance our daily outfit . I think many of you will agree with me!

As you know, Hermès' scarves are so versatile and can be worn in various ways. I think the biggest charm of this scarf is that you can make it look totally different depending on how you wear it. It interested me that there were no fixed rules or instructions.
So I decided to make a different knot every day when I started recording my SOTD on my Instagram account. It was very interesting to make diverse knots with one scarf. Through these works, I think I have a better understanding of how many details they have hidden in one scarf and how carefully they organized the color arrangement. It’s like a exploring – yes, in a nutshell, we are explorers of this small world of 34x34 inches! :hbeat:

Back to the point, this week, let's share the knots that you love! From fancy knots to simple but useful knots, any knot will do if you like it and enjoy it.

The knot I'm going to show you today is the knot method I showed you in my previous post. My little boys call it a ‘Snail knot.’

1. With Parures des Samourais :
It’s my all time best scarf!

This week, I will post references of the knots I made. Because I just want everyone to enjoy it together.

I'm guess some of you have seen this knot's reference before, it's a video in Korean. I hope your understanding…

Dear Scarfies, please enjoy this week’s SOTD theme and share us your favorite knots! I am looking forward to seeing your magical ways to arrange our treasured silk :heart:

Looking forward to learning about knots this week, Yoon!

I must admit that when I look at Youtube vids, I sometimes get discouraged because many of the pretty examples use scarves which are of finer material so they don't work well with silk twill. I shall definitely try your knots and hopefully the techniques will stick in my mind (I am unfortunately a disciple of the "throw it on and hope for the best" school of knots )

I am dreadfully behind on this thread and I look forward to catching up over the weekend. I’ll share a couple of scarves from this week, Baobab Cat silk 90 and Jaguar Quetzal CSGM.

View attachment 4996420View attachment 4996421
Two of my favorites... The pink Baobab is a dream... it’s those irregular dots and lines... ties so beautifully

Many pages of pretty silks to catch up on!

Since so many others have showcased some of my favorites, I’ll share an underrated artist, known mostly for Turandot, Natsuno Hidaka as it so happens I pulled this one from the tansy this weekend to wear.

Sublime silk! Such an unusual CW that looks so amazing on you

I have taken liberties this week w the love theme Because I love so many designers I just can’t pick one and so many others have already shown my favorites....so today, it’s my LOVE of changeants!!!!! Fell hard since the new year. @bunnycat helped me with identifying my first one which I returned because the beige colors w a peridot highlight were awful on me. And she helped me with my next one too! Now I‘ve got two more that came this week and two more on the way .
Excuse all the lint on my black shirt. It’s my under-layer piece. I had a cozy sweater over it earlier in the day.
Parures des Sables green w purple highlight, La Rosee which is a very subtle one w a pink highlight, and Arabesques with the fiery oranges and almost reds. I call it my hot lava scarf. View attachment 4996473View attachment 4996474View attachment 4996475
You are so lucky to own these beauties! Each one so different from the other... True showstoppers

My favorite designed and you own such exquisite CWs of these pieces of art

So happy to be your twin on BOTH Pivoines... and the shawl is a timeless classic

And my grail of all silks only one design that I could find, Antoine de Jacquelot, Ecume.

View attachment 4996489
View attachment 4996490View attachment 4996491
Holy Grail indeed... Masterpiece!

You are right, 27leborse! It's the only 140cm format which doesn't overwhelm me.

I've been wearing mainly the 90s this week, and the other formats are squawking in protest :giggle:
Two gavs, worn solo and worn together. I find the pale green bird and rich purple border rather difficult to wear. The pale green matches this unusual plant we found in one of our pots.
View attachment 4996668
For @Living.la.vida.fifi, the 140cm Mythiques Phoenix, wrapped like a dress with an H ribbon round the waist  Strictly for laughs. I am hopeless with 140 silk. And a skirt from RTW: cheap in H economic terms. It is made from 2 scarves and cost less than 2 scarves.
View attachment 4996670
A few close-ups to demonstrate why the anthracite cw is a grail. This is not a black and white scarf. It has cream, dark green, aubergine purple, coffee brown, vanilla and the anthracite grey. I have yet to find another scarf so mesmerizing in its colour palette.
View attachment 4996671
Your MP collection is remarkable... and, that Phoenix is a masterpiece... you have accurately described why it is such a coveted Grail... so wonderful and complex!

Thank you!

Thanks!

Thank you dear.

Gorgeous!! :loveeyes::loveeyes:

Absolutely exquisite. Three of my favorites of yours in one post.

Beautiful! Twins!:

View attachment 4996683
Such a treasure and beautiful with the purple sweater that picks up the subtle purple on the scarf

I guess my favourite scarf is my first shawl, not due to the design but the colours. It was an easy choice, although I was skeptic to the design. A saddle, really ? :amazed: Now I love it, its the Selle d Ófficier en Grande Tenue by Wlodek Kaminski. The shopping experience in Paris was great, and I wear this alot. Irritating whith all the pilling on the big one-colour-areas, though.

I am also very fond of the designs by Pierre Marie. He also designed the Diptyque candels for Christmas season 2018, wich I . Actually have most of this candles from several years back

My favourite designer just now has to be Alice Shirley, the first H-scarf I saw and felt in love with was Zebra Pegasus, but I was too late to the party. I was lucky to find Mountain Zebra though, simply stunning!

Reading this forum has become my mindful moment after work, I really enjoy seeing all this art you are shearing. Thank you! The bad about it, is thats sooo tempting and makes med want a lot more scarfs, haha. The good thing, to live where I live, is that the alternatives in the one H-shop is very limited, and what they have in shop is planned to be sold mostly to tourists from Asia, and the CWs they choose is affected by that. (I was told by a SA). I actually never see people with H-scarfs around. Or bags. (Except for my friend). Its in practice no second-hand market here. And if I would like to by from another country, or from internet, the price will almost double due to import taxes, customes and postage. It limits itself in a way. Witch is probably a good thing...
I wish everyone a good weekend
Such beautiful colors! And, I also own this candle collection. The Diptyque collaborations with artists are simoly divine

Scarf of the day some days ago! Many many thanks to @sdsurfchick for the impossible decision to part with this piece. It’s so special to me  Jungle love tattoo in hot pink - bee jacquard silk.

View attachment 4996758
Aaah, looks so amazing on you! And, the bee jacquard is soooo special!

Thank you, turfnsurf, I didn’t see this comment until now. Dinner plates . I appreciate the volunteer suggestion. The therapeutic riding center is closed, although I didn’t get that from their website, so guess what? I’m taking riding lessons! Will have my second lesson on Tuesday. Very humbling and I loved the class. Wonderful stables, very clean and horses beautifully taken care of. Feeling so grateful. I know others on this thread will be interested in my comment, thinking of @AnnaE and @Sammy Royal! I appropriately wore Cavald’or losange to my first lesson this week, a very cold day. Beautiful silk snd love the Celtic pin

A gorgeous array of silk beauties!
Twins on so many and adore all the others!
WoUD you know the colorway of your 2nd ELEK 90cm pictured? Or show it flat if you get a chance. Thanks!!
Love all the colors in that one.
Well, I purchased the ELeK from a reseller, but it may have come with the label, so I will look. I will tske a pic of it flat

Good morning! Its a snowy Saturday and I have finally had a chance to take a shot or two of my new Dallet scarf that came last week. Thinking of @bunnycat and her sweet story of the feral kitty rescue. Tried to tie this to show the cats! Also @Karenska who I am sisters with on this. I can see this will be super fun to play with as I get better at knotting and tying. Also want to echo @irmapusen on the pleasure of spending time on this delightful site with all of your gorgeous photos and funny and inspiring posts.
It is stunning!

For Saturday my most favorite. I always love her designs, I’m cheered by the colors, and charmed by her creatures.

Stunning look!

I'm a big Alice Shirley fan so to round out this week I put on my Tyger Tyger to blast out in to newly unfrozen wilds. It was 22F 2 days ago (and had been that or lower for a week) and today was 58F and felt sooooooooooooooo gooooooood.... The cats loved it too...actual ground under the feet and not ICE! I kept saying to them "Heck yeah you wanna go out! It's 50 degrees warmer than it was last week!"

What a wonderful introduction! And you are the perfect hostess for the week’s theme...
I am loving this Snail Knot so much and will dare to try it tomorrow and will post pics... So excited to try this knot and looking forward to all that I will learn this week

I adore Manege and have seen some wonderful CWs but this blue is simply fabulous

I wore this yesterday for a scarfie zoom meetup, but posting today because the knot was pretty cool. I don’t know what it is, but with moussies you just wrap and fluff. View attachment 4997549
Glorious! What design is this?

One of my favorit knots is this one: sometimes with, other times without a scarfring.View attachment 4997566View attachment 4997567
Such a great knot for this design, but then, BdG Shadow ties so very beautifully

What a great intro @Yoon daily scarf! I love your snail knot and am going to try it and report back! It’s beautiful!

I’m not a clever knotter. I usually either just chuck it on, or copy shamelessly from the more creative. The recently discovered BFK knot of @Bova123 is a good one!

Two of my favorites are the suuuuper simple bias fold, wrap around and tie, as with yesterday’s SOTD, Dans un Jardin Anglais:

View attachment 4997610

Another I like is to do an oblong fold and then just shove the corners through a scarf ring. Never know what you’re going to get:

Atélier Robert Dallet, L’Ombre des Pivoines, and Domes Celestes.

Great knots in sll the variations, but must say that these are all fantabulous silks!

I made a quick tutorial of my last knot for you, dear @Cookiefiend :hugs:
I named this one as ' Chain D'Ancre snail knot' :giggle:

1. Make a triangle fold, and pleats it
(It's the same beginning as the video tutorial)
And fold it to half.
View attachment 4997618

2. Pull one side of the fold gently
through the one hole of Chain D'Ancre scarf ring
View attachment 4997637

3. Place your ring on the half of the fold.
(Nevermind the corner of triangle,
we will adjust it later.)
View attachment 4997620

4. Place your scarf on your neck
View attachment 4997621

5. Pull the one tail (I choose the one located below) through the empty hole of the Chain D'Ancre ring

View attachment 4997622

6. And tie a knot with the another tailView attachment 4997639
View attachment 4997624
And tie a knot once more!View attachment 4997625

I mean, tie a simple knot twice for fixation. ;)
And adjust it please.

7. Pull the corner to downward.View attachment 4997640

8. And spread it.
View attachment 4997641

9. Adjust your drapes!

9-1. You can make the shape of the drapes neatly by holding the part where the drape starts
with the thumb and index finger of one hand, (A)
and then hold the right next to it with the thumb and index finger of the other hand.(B)
And move it (B) gently along the drape as if closing the Zipper lock! I'll take this instruction picture next time.

9-2. In this picture, I'm combing the folds with my fingers haha:graucho: It's another drape adjusting method that I like to use.
View attachment 4997642

10. Then, it's done!
View attachment 4997629

Hope it helps you!
I'm not so good at making tutorials.. but I did my best
Oh I wish I had one more arm so I could take a video..
This is awesome, and so clearly put! Do you happen to have a similar series of pics for the Snail Knot on the YouTube video tutorial? I would love to see it step by step in pictures as you express it so clearly

Thank you for the introduction to Knot week, @Yoon daily scarf . Your video is excellent and I look forward to trying out new knots this week.

Today I'm introducing a new-to-me scarf, Persona. The knot is a simple knot on a bias fold that allows my pendant to be seen. The pendant is a garnet cabochon mounted on a handmade blackened silver backing with red gold and diamond accents. The artist is Emily Johnson of EC Design.

View attachment 4997763
Looks wonderful on you snd the pendant is so beautiful and unique

Woot!
View attachment 4997769
Thank you for that wonderful tutorial- I had to do it 3 times to get it right, but I did it!
Now I need to get a nicer scarf ring... I think I know where I can find them!
You did it! Looks amazing

Wow, this is terrific @Yoon daily scarf! I love your Instagram photos and @turfnsurf and @Cookiefiend directed me to some useful videos/threads last week. Can't wait to try your lovely Snail Knot with and without the ring. For today, I am still practicing my "bovaknot" so here is a simple off center wrap but with a much neater knot than I normally manage! @Pirula, I am swooning over your lovely Pivoines-- definitely would love that design in my closet. Happy Sunday, y'all!

For the past couple of days on Instagram, I’ve shared pictures and info about one of my favorite 70cm scarves.. Quadrige Costumé. I own this fabulous design in two similar CWs. I don’t own many 70s, but do like wearing them and I shared some different knots made with them. Since my two CWs work well together, I also enjoyed tying them together to create more voluminous and complex knots.
The first pic below shows both of my CWs folded together. Then, some knots with each of the scarves wearing a navy top. The last three knots were created tying the two scarves together

Thank you @Yoon daily scarf for the wonderful introduction and hosting this week. I'm really looking forward to it, and maybe others who post unique knots can also link to any tutorials or instructions that might exist for those? (If it's not a lot of trouble, of course.)

Your tutorial below was perfect! I'm clumsy with knotting, but I'm pretty sure I could do this with these instructions.

Hi missmabel! SOTD here is a good way to find knot ideas, and also this thread over in the tpf "library"... you can check it out as long as you like! :P

Awesome bovaknot! (And perfect necklace placement)

Much gratitude to our savvy knot miester-YSD for sharing this snail knot. :yahoo:
Enjoying it immensely for it’s 90-taming ability, ease, and have been employing it often with it’s variations:

Love all these- this knot makes the 90 so easy to wear.

Thank you so much, @Yoon daily scarf for the wonderful introduction to this week’s theme. It will be such a fun and informative week...

Thank you for your great introduction to this week's theme. I love your video, I will try them all out. Also, you have so many beautiful scarves!

Thanks a lot, dear @Naessi :hbeat:
The video I uploaded is not mine, but I love that youtuber's channel, she knows many wonderful knots! Glad you like that  And I'm looking forward to see your beautiful knots!

Thanks for your kind words dear @missmabel5 !
Oh It would be so nice to share the references and tutorials, if there's no problems
And I'm so grateful that you like my tutorial! Hope it works, And I can't wait to see your beautiful knots too!

Oh many thanks, dear @LKBNOLA !! :hbeat:
I'll looking forward to see your wonderful snail knot!! Glad you like it too, dear
And your Bova's knot is so neat and elegant, and I love your necklace too! They're perfect pairs  I'll try this beautiful Bova's knot too, Thanks for inspiration!

Oh I understand your concerns, she used more soft silks than our H scarves for example. But when I tried the tutorials with my H scarves, it quite works!:yahoo: I recommend it to you if you like the knots in that video  And I can't wait to see your beautiful knots, any knots you like will do, dear @xincinsin ! ♡

Glorious! What design is this?

Such a great knot for this design, but then, BdG Shadow ties so very beautifully

Great knots in sll the variations, but must say that these are all fantabulous silks!

This is awesome, and so clearly put! Do you happen to have a similar series of pics for the Snail Knot on the YouTube video tutorial? I would love to see it step by step in pictures as you express it so clearly

Looks wonderful on you snd the pendant is so beautiful and unique

You did it! Looks amazing

Such a wonderful way to showcase a necklace! Both pieces, necklace and scarf, work so well together!

You thoroughly mastered the knot! And, beautiful silks!

My dearest @Living.la.vida.fifi , I appreciate so much to you for invitation!!! It's an honor for me, and I wouldn't have been able to dare without your support :hbeat: Oh I can't wait to see your snail knots!!! I'm so sure that it will be wonderful

Your knots are so glorious as always,
and your scarves are pefect for this season!
I especially love 9th mod shot, it looks like a red flower :flowers: I'll try that knot too!! Thanks for inspirations :hbeat:

One of my go to winter knots is what I call an infinity knot (maybe it has a better name somewhere else??? Who knows!) I did a tut for it over in the "how to" thread in the Ref Lib with I highly recommend! So many of our lovely members have contributed there, with many amazing knots and lots of new ideas in the last 4-6 pages!

Haha, I see. Thank you for sharing it with us! :) I have already tried the "snail knot" you have done so beautifully with your gorgeous scarves (you have so many beautiful CWs!). It will take some more practice to make them as pretty as yours...

Between Yoon's and Fifi's knotting prowess, I should just lay claim to the fainting couch for the week
