My very best wishes to everyone for the New Year to all SOTD regulars, occasional posters and newcomers alike  .

The SOTD 2021 thread is now open and ready for business:

The new theme commences tomorrow (3 Jan - whenever your time zone gets there) but there's no reason why you can't post earlier if you want.

Here is a terrible article from the NY Post today by Cindy Adams on Dr. Birx and her scarves. Someone who is an eloquent writer needs to give Cindy Adams a piece of his/her mind. Can you imagine anyone calling a Hermes scarf a shmatta? Grrrrr.

"Praise for omniscient, omnipresent scarf-lover Dr. Deborah Birx, who speaks alongside our president. But . . . please … someone clue her — once — once — stop those constant silk rags around her neck. Get one string of beads. A shoelace. Anything. Enough with ironing those daily old-style silk Hermès shmattas."
I couldn’t locate the comment or a way to reach the “lady”.

How vile. Notice how no one has paid any attention whatsoever to the fashion and hair choices of the men standing beside her?
+1 - and I can’t say what I’m really thinking as my post would be removed.
I'm running with the sixties idea for relating to our theme. Cristeaux has a sixties vibe with the colorful wavy stripes. Here's a double scarf look from the archives.

We interrupt our regularly scheduled program to pay tribute to Leila Menchari...
Here are my three CWs of Regina... The last is the Queen’s Golden Jubilee 2002 edition

< applause! > The red is glorious!

Perhaps this is not the place for my comment to the NY Post writer, Cindy Adams, and her comments about Dr. Birx, but this is what I sent to the newspaper:
"Shame on you, Cindy Adams, for your comments singling out Dr. Birx's fashion sense and her scarves. You didn't mention the appearance of the men standing around her. Dr. Birx is a much admired, intelligent woman who is helping lead us through this pandemic. She has superior intellect, natural beauty, and dignity, unlike many of the so-called "celebrities" you cover in your Page Six. She is a real celebrity and a true hero, and what she is wearing shouldn't even be discussed; it's demeaning. You should be supporting a woman like her instead of nitpicking about her outfit. And, by the way, a Hermes scarf is not an outdated shmatta. There are plenty of high profile, strong women who make a difference in the world today who wear the scarves, such as Christine Legarde, Theresa May, and even Nancy ******. But you may not be familiar with these names because you seem to focus on the most shallow of our society.

Well said, Carole!!

Given that our theme this week will focus on Russian and Eastern European designs, themes and influences, here are my scarves created by Polish artist Jan Bajtlik.
First of all, Animapolis. The fanciful fictional city of the illustration was inspired on the architecture of Warsaw, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kiev and New York. Down below are some details that show the onion-domes and Cracovian folk dancers.

I hope you make a scrapbook of all these beautiful pix of you modeling HS. To share with fam. A timeline of HS evolution. Because this kind of thing would be so much fun to look at down the road. The pix of you are really beautiful. That's a treasure in itself.

Off theme, but today is Happy Geology Day! In honour of the day I will wear my Hermes Geology themed scarfs (keeping Mineraux and Pierres & Cristaux in reserve [archive pic] )

Fabulous scarves. So unique. We're twins on the Pierres & Cristaux -- I have the fuchsia one you model, plus the blue and the green versions. To me it's a bit of a psychedelic design with the concentric wavy lines. (Yay 60's!!!). And that drusy pendant is absolutely fabulous. (Next thing you need to get is a cuprian-bearing tourmaline! IYKWIM :) ).

Thanks so much!

Thanks so much!

Oh, I am so sorry that you won’t be able to go at this time! I hope you can do so in tye future when it is possible and this nightmare is over... It is an a amazing place!

It’s a fabulous design.... I own the olive green and was happy until I ran into this one

Thank you so much!

Wonderful examples... And, I am in love with the L’Armee Imperiale... the graphics stand out so beautifully on the white background, and it is gorgeous tied!

Love this! Indeed!

Sad to hear this... Loved Pussy Galore! And, she matured so beautifully... Even more gorgeous in her later years, IMO

Such a great design!

Hahaha! Love it!

Good one... I always love to see your picture on deck with the scarf flying!

OMG this is awful! So tasteless, arrogant and pointless to reprimand and chastise a woman about her individual style choices... downright ignorant when referring to Hermès scarves!

yes... Iearned of the sad news... Regina is indeed one of the most beautiful and romantic Hermès designs of all time... Very appropriate post...
Many thanks, fifi!
