My very best wishes to everyone for the New Year to all SOTD regulars, occasional posters and newcomers alike  .

The SOTD 2021 thread is now open and ready for business:

The new theme commences tomorrow (3 Jan - whenever your time zone gets there) but there's no reason why you can't post earlier if you want.

+1 - and I can’t say what I’m really thinking as my post would be removed.

perfect!

< applause! > The red is glorious!
Thanks much!

I hope you make a scrapbook of all these beautiful pix of you modeling HS. To share with fam. A timeline of HS evolution. Because this kind of thing would be so much fun to look at down the road. The pix of you are really beautiful. That's a treasure in itself.
Thank you so much, my dear!

Not one, but TWO De Passage a Moscou! I just fainted...

closest I could get to my version of bond girl (one that is a badass spy herself) is an all black outfit.

Now, that’s a Bond girl if I ever did see one..

I had to look this up as I am more familiar with the term “Paraíba” tourmaline (the beautiful blue-green variety of tourmaline). Alas, no I don't have one & will probably never will.($$$$) unless I win a lottery.....I will have make do with aquamarine as a poor substitue in the meantime.
This post is probably the only time this year that I will be able to refer to "copper bearing" (cuprian) stones. A gemologist I read (I read the easy stuff) claimed that [all] natural colors can be duplicated by synthetic (like, duh?) I didn't believe it until I saw that my small bright blue Lagos ring of years ago was the exact color of a blue zircon. It was a particular line of Lagos, not spendy, so I was pretty amazed. So, I'm quite positive synthetic Paraiba is combing down the pike.
Aquas are beautiful, they have a beauty all their own.
Sorry to be OT!

well, we are “freezing in place” here as cold rains move through. Not great scarf weather, but I did sneak in a show of force this week—Flamboyant Web CS100 from men’s collection—have to take a stand against the eight-eyed ones lurking to engulf the carport in a very un-loved silk as soon as warms again!

And, here’s a design inspired by the tziganes, and gypsies of Eastern Europe... the Roma people who travel in caravans as wanderers... The central bottom image depicts the legend of Sara, the black madonna of the Romany.

Beautiful! Incredible cws, Fifi. I adore Peuple du Vent. I have a gorgeous pink/red/gold plisse but I can see myself with multiple cws and formats. Love how you tied red one, a fav cw.

The neighbour's white cat looks like a model for the white cat on your scarf - a beautiful colorway - never seen this against a blue background.
The resemblance is quite uncanny, isn't it? @Living.la.vida.fifi tipped me off that there is a jacquard version of this scarf and I engaged in a mighty battle with the 7 sins - mainly Greed

Nailed it! I envision your iteration to whip off her scarf to use in multiple situations: Hide a mic, palm stolen jewels, draped over security camera, etc. Such a versatile spy accessory! :coolio:
 Modesty Blaise was touted as a female James Bond, but the movie was really bad... Read the novels, folks. @blydia my first Modesty Blaise novel, the cover art was drawn with her all sleek in black like you!

You must have a degree in Folklore to know this stuff . . . This is a lot of stuff you know about cultural and mythic legacies.
I totally agree!

I just identified one!!! Today’s scarf is Le Jardin de la Maharani!!

Bravo! We have a Sherlock Scarves theme end of this year. Let's see how many of the stylish doctor's scarves we can identify, then we can show off our twins of her H scarves!

Thanks much!

Today, I’m channeling Tiffany Case, from Diamonds are Forever.
Bond - Tiffany Case? Definitely distinctive.
Tiffany - I was born there, on the first floor, while my mother was looking for a wedding ring.
Bond - Well, I’m glad for your sake it wasn’t Van Cleef & Arpels.
Tiffany was a diamond smuggler - she would love to swipe Parures des Sables
