My very best wishes to everyone for the New Year to all SOTD regulars, occasional posters and newcomers alike  .

The SOTD 2021 thread is now open and ready for business:

The new theme commences tomorrow (3 Jan - whenever your time zone gets there) but there's no reason why you can't post earlier if you want.

Le Grand Prix du Faubourg for today :heart::heart:
So clean and fresh!
Both are such attractive colorways. Beautiful.

I am not the Bond girl, but the woman on my scarf is. Anyone who can dance like that in heels...

Yesterday rewatched From Russia with Love- my favorite and I think best 007 movie.
I realized Tatiana wears a light blue chiffon scarf while talking to 007 on a boat/ferry. She is supposed to be giving him details of the lector code machine...

not blue, but pink mousseline on a ship - remembering better days for NYC and the cruise ship industry

And my only solid mousseline. I think someone has this is blue which would be closer to what Tatiana was wearing.

Love to see this one blowing in the wind!
Thank you @CanuckBagLover - I enjoyed reading that article! I love that her character was the leader of the group of female pilots - not just a pretty face with a suggestive name.
Ms. Blackman - aka Pussy Galore - would have rocked Jungle Love Rainbow to the max!

I've never tried wearing my 90s this way but need to give it a go.....it shows all the colors of the Rainbow Love Rainbow very well!
Finally twins on this one too. Could not resist the white hem.

closest I could get to my version of bond girl (one that is a badass spy herself) is an all black outfit.

Perfect!
I am not so much a Bond girl, more like a Bond villain... and always from Russia with love. Plume en Fete today. Digging and more digging in my scarf like the evil fairy in the French fairytale Graciosa and Percinet setting the beautiful Graciosa more and more tasks some involving skeins of silk and mountains of feathers to keep her from her handsome prince :graucho::

The fairy brought a great basket full of feathers, plucked from every kind of bird— nightingales, canaries, linnets, larks, doves, thrushes, peacocks, ostriches, pheasants, partridges, magpies, eagles—in fact, if I told them all over, I should never come to an end; and all these feathers were so mixed up together, that they could not be distinguished.
Perfect colorway for a spring morning. Love!

Fabulous!!

Ohmigoodness - fabulous!

Blofeld appears in multiple Bond novels and movies. He is an archetypal villain and the image of a bald guy stroking a white cat has become visual shorthand for "bad guy". No bald guys on my scarves, but here are a couple of white cats: Les Chats and guest star - the svelte and flexible feline Bond girl aka neighbour's cat.

The neighbour's white cat looks like a model for the white cat on your scarf - a beautiful colorway - never seen this against a blue background. :)

Nailed it! I envision your iteration to whip off her scarf to use in multiple situations: Hide a mic, palm stolen jewels, draped over security camera, etc. Such a versatile spy accessory! :coolio:

Good morning scarflandians!!:wave:I hope you are well. It is during this time the work the scarf mistresses have given that I appreciate the most. I want to say a huge thanks to everyone who contributes to this thread. You are a continued source of inspiration, knowledge and entertainment to me in these times. Thank you!!:yahoo:Back to this weeks theme!

When I was asked about if I would do this weeks theme. I jumped at the chance! And can you blame me? This weeks theme: from Russia with love! This weeks is all about Bondesque scarves and Russian- Eastern European themes.

Bond girls: romantic interests of 007 have always been attractive, each one very distinct. For reference here is a list of all the Bond girls, if you would like some inspiration!!;)

https://www.007james.com/articles/list_of_james_bond_girls.php

I will draw from this list later this week myself!

I haven’t seen much in the way of scarves in bond films. So my examples this week are what I imagine Bond girls might wear.

From Russia with Love: My first inspiration comes from Bond girl Sylvia Trench , a very “posh” lady. She introduced her herself as “ Trench, Sylvia Trench” inspiring Bond, James Bond. Her infamous scene in a just a shirt has inspired me to “add” to the outfit!:giggles:Here is the original and here is my version. I like my version better, but I also like wearing bottoms!!

I look forward to your Bondesque or Eastern European themed scarves this week!!:flowers:
What a fun introduction, Julide! Thank you. And thanks to @Cookiefiend for hosting last week’s theme. I’ve been offline a lot these last two weeks but I hope to participate soon again. Meanwhile, thanks to everyone for your inspiring and enjoyable contributions. Stay safe and healthy.

Fabulous scarves. So unique. We're twins on the Pierres & Cristaux -- I have the fuchsia one you model, plus the blue and the green versions. To me it's a bit of a psychedelic design with the concentric wavy lines. (Yay 60's!!!). And that drusy pendant is absolutely fabulous. (Next thing you need to get is a cuprian-bearing tourmaline! IYKWIM  ).
I had to look this up as I am more familiar with the term “Paraíba” tourmaline (the beautiful blue-green variety of tourmaline). Alas, no I don't have one & will probably never will.($$$$) unless I win a lottery.....I will have make do with aquamarine as a poor substitue in the meantime.
