I love it too. I was worry because I choose the bee not the design of the scarf. Then went home and forgot what I choose. So I had a stomach ache when I waited for few months until now.:heart::heart:
I would have chosen the bee too :) but Brandebourgs also happens to be one of my favourite neutrals, I have the CSGM and the pattern looks great in your silk blouse. Here is an old pic, it’s about time to wear it again as temperature drops and winter is around the corner...

Fast Cars / bolides may be the modern boys‘ toys of my video-game-rich DSiL, but “horsed carriages” ruled 19th century and earlier, n’est pas?

I imagine the Sun King would be quite happy with a marbled Balade en Berline:

Jizzy - this scarf hadn’t been on my radar until you posted it - I gather it is a 75, and labelled “exceptional” - apart from it being so beautiful in your pictures, even on my tiny iPhone screen - would you kindly share/explain how it is “exceptional”

This is probably the knot I make the most. It’s my go-to knot for impact and drama, yet so easy to make, as you simply fold the scarf into a rectangle, drape over shoulders and insert all the points through a chain d’ancre scarf ring. Someone in Instagram called it an Octopus Knot. I have been stopped in the street by strangers asking me how I tied my scarf.

And, with Kawa Ora

This another simple knot that is great for highlighting the center of a design and can look quite festive and jaunty...

And, perfect with Mountain Zebra

And, with Flamingo Party

Another way that I very often tie my scarves is with the classic and simple bias fold. I try many variations with it...

And, much like @Cookiefiend masterfully showed the other day, with Les Tresors d’un Artiste

Eliwon—I don’t want to hijack the thread, so DM me for more info if needed— but for everyone, the following video link shares the marbling print technique used by Kyoto Marble and sought by Hermes, which is maybe another video.
It’s very unique, I can’t explain it, like printing with sculptured flats of play-dough carved and pressed from “color starches.”. Significantly, This year’s Balade en Berline is a complete composition of an H classic, while the one prior marbled scarf from H past season was a floating image at each scarf corner.

And, how could I exclude the Fifi Knot from this gallery of knots... Well, this knot was actually named after me by our dear @Cookiefiend ... I find it’s such a neat and tidy way to tie a scarf close to the neck.

That looks lovely.... is there a tutorial for the Fifi knot anywhere, by any chance?

AMAZING!

Bravo, Jbizzy! Reminds me of those Regency romances I used to read (Georgette Heyer, anyone?): the patched dandies would promenade in their fancy "fast" carriages eyeing the ladies. One London noblewoman rode a phaeton drawn by zebras.

This is the most amazing scarf of the current season... it is truly exceptional... Congratulations!
I totally agree! Hoping that one marbled silk will wash ashore here.

And since i have found another scarf - Minéraux.
That was my sotd (not on theme !!! Although i might argue that we can play with these rocks !!)
I have no idea how old this scarf is and the material is like nothing i have seen before.. very thick, with a silvery thread. I asked in the « identification » scarf thread but perhaps someone here has seen this before?
It looks amazing! Perhaps this is an early exceptionelle?
And there is a "rocks" scarf in my wishlist. Impose Ta Chance which always reminded me of the game of Rock Paper Scissors, as well as visits to pebbly beaches in Scotland and Taiwan.

Toys and games
Time to give our inner child free reign this week!

The H 2018 theme was "Let's Play" and H really played around with the concept. There are plenty of toys in the H archives, so it's not surprising that we can find dolls, bears and all kinds of games popping up in the scarf designs through the years.

One of the first H scarves was based on a board game: Jeu des Omnibus. The original scarf was shown at an exhibition here in Singapore and there was even an interactive app that showed visitors how the game was played.

A favourite scarf of mine is Tour de Monde en 63 Cases which came with a pair of dice and instructions. It's based on a 16th century board game called Game of Goose. Every little square contains a surprise!

Equal in popularity to board games are card games. And while some board games like chess are meant for only two players, card games can mostly be played by many. The average deck can be used for fortune-telling, but I like the intricate designs and symbolism of the Tarot.

Another recent design reminded me of a toy I grew up with: mix and match flipbooks. My mum got me one in vinyl material which she used to distract me in the bathtub.

Teddy bears of course are traditional toys, though much younger in history than Game of Goose.
Confidents des Coeurs with guest appearance by DS2's Brown Bearfoot and two tiny bear clips.

And naturally toys must have their accessories too. Presenting Brown Bearfoot and friend doing the H it Up with mini Brides de Gala. (I'm looking forward to comparing my mini BdGs with the new crop next season!)

Kids nowadays have virtual reality as their playground. An old movie The Last Starfighter had as its premise that an arcade game was used to train potential pilots in an intergalactic war. Sometimes, when I look at my sons playing their MMORPGs, I wonder if they would freeze or leap into action if an animatronic/alien dragon leapt from the screen.
Dragon Flash losange.

Children at play is the theme in one of my favourite scarves Triples. The adorable trio hop, skip and jump through all the Parisian landmarks. The scene I like best is their dip in the fountain.
View attachment 4587303
Of course we can't leave out what the media euphemistically calls "big boy toys": the yachts, fast cars and other stuff I blink at when I read magazines recommending what to buy for those who have nothing left that they want or need to buy  Parures du Vent and its impressive array of fast car hood ornaments. I think I can afford a hood ornament, or a hub cap....

Really fab intro xcs! I love your DC Fav, and still remain little sad I FOMO'd this design...maybe one day one will roll my way whenI have some spare change and am not in scarf purchasing ban purgatory....

Apologies for the triple error above. I've reported it. Dupe postings are bad enough, but triplets :annoyed:

I wore a scarf today which I haven't seen before on SOTD. This is Faites Vos Jeux which is completely about playing various types of games. It's a bird's eye view of four chairs and a glass table. You can see dominos, draughts, scrabble, dice and other games on the table.
PicsArt_11-11-07.53.36.jpg

The border has the symbols of the four card suits. As well, the entire scarf is overlaid with an interlocking jigsaw grid.
PicsArt_11-11-07.55.38.jpg

Another scarf which has a jigsaw grid is Puzzle.
PicsArt_11-11-07.59.19.jpg

Jigsaws belong to a class of toys for older-than-toddlers which challenge the mind to reconstruct an image. H has several scarves which play on this theme where the mind and the eye may each see something different.
For instance, the lenticular ducks and rabbits in this Illusion gavroche, Onde de Chic with the horses hidden in the swirling lines and Sous les Orangeres in the orange cw which has fish concealed in the rippling waters.
PicsArt_11-11-08.06.53.jpg
Other twists on the theme: in the kaleidoscope (traditional toy!) of Faubourg by Night, Faubourg itself is fractalized. And the Magic Eye effect is used in Magic Kelly and the pixilated Rendezvous au 24.
