I wish you great good luck in your search, xincinsin!

And I wish you good luck in your search, too, momasaurus! I feel so honored to have put one of my scarves on TWO wish lists!

Fifi, I will help you with the scene. Islamabad sits right at the base of the Margalla "Hills'. They are either the same height or higher than the Appalachian or Blue Ridge mountains here in the USA. Pakistan doesn't bother to name any mountains unless they are 21,000 feet or higher - that's how many peaks they have. Monkeys by the boatload, leopards, wild boars and other wildlife descend down and roam the streets or cluster around the big mosque. The first week we were there, the embassy put out a warning about cobras on the 35 acre embassy compound (where we lived). So life was never boring. :P

Thank you for your kind words, Croisette7!

I cannot and will not leave this scarf off my favorites list! De Passage A Moscou was on my wishlist for a long time, in the etoupe and gold colorway. When I saw this cw for sale, I thought "even better!" and hit BIN at the speed of light!

I lived in Moscow for 2 years with my late husband from 1995 to 1997. It was my first time living overseas and it informed me that I was NOT dreadful at languages! I got along very well in Russian....unlike my high school and college French in Quebec (which was a dreadful failure!)View attachment 4295541
You have painted a fascinating scenario! The mountains, the animals, all fabulous! I started to think of Animapolis! But the cobras? I’d be deathly afraid!
And, De Passage a Moscou is one of those Grails that have always eluded me. I would be happy with ANY CW, although I refuse to pay an unthinkable price. Maybe this will be my year? Fingers crossed... Yours is spectacular!

Hi, all! Just stopping by to say Hi and to wish everyone a wonderful, scarf-filled New Year! After some domestic travel and time in Shanghai, we are now in Bali, and it’s not the best scarf-wearing climate, so I will be mostly lurking for the next 10 days.
We’ll be here and ready to have you share with us whenever you are able to. Enjoy Bali! Have a wonderful time and safe travels!

I remember you showing this scarf recently and being in awe of how great it looks on you. I still am :) I haven’t been to Moscow in years, but I do love Eastern European-themed scarves. I would love that same colorway actually — it’s on my list.

This was a special Brides de Gala year for me as well. I already owned the pink/cream Brides Fleuris but decided to get the black CW for my son’s high school graduation in May.

In January I purchased the Brides de Gala Love gavroche in two CWs for my daughter. So cute! I really should borrow them and play around with this format that still intimidates me.

So, somehow Brides de Gala Love is the one design I always buy to give away. I had purchased the 90cm to give as a special gift to one of my dearest friends who has through the years given me a few very special scarves. So the Love design was SO fitting for her! But not getting it for myself, I always regretted it. Well, this past year, I luckily was able to change that and I’m thrilled that it is finally all mine... and my friend and I can be twins!! So special!

These are all wonderful designs. I love the idea of giving scarves to friends — unfortunately, none of my friends enjoy scarves, although I often think they would make a great gift for special occasions. I love the knot in the last photo!

Looks wonderful on you Bobcat - glad that you were able to find it! It’s one of the top 3 on my wishlist - someday!

View attachment 4295374 View attachment 4295393 Well ladies, I left the boys in the bar and excitedly hopped and skipped to H in Banús!

There the excitement ended really; the SA could barely contain his boredom, regularly checking his watch then getting his phone out. I’ve never experienced such poor service in an H store before, and ordinarily I’d “reward” that by walking out without buying, but I did spy Shopping au Fauberg which has been eluding me til now so I grudgingly bought it, DD and good friend both told me I’d regret it if I passed on it.

Wow that is so unfortunate — would that be because it is around holiday times? Or maybe it was his last day at the store... the scarf is a beauty though! Glad you bought it; sometimes, smaller boutiques are a great source of these gems.

You know, I have seen a few on TheRealReal for a ‘normal price’ before. It wasn’t the CW I wanted to I didn’t get it.

My hotel has a bouquet with this plant that makes me think of Jardins Creole every time I pass it by. After googling the design to refresh my memory, I don’t know if it’s actually the same kind, as I am clearly not a botanist! IMG_1012.JPG

And the extremely cheery La Maison des Oiseaux Parleurs
View attachment 4294309

You can really pull off that La Maison! It reminds of the Surf one — love the design, cannot pull it off to save my life.

View attachment 4294278 The first scarf I purchased in 2018 (and not til November!) - Acte III. It was down the slippery orange slope after that

This color way is perfect for your shirt!

My next favorite scarf from my 2018 purchases, Les Chants Du Henne. I looked for this for quite a while, and finally found it in Blood Orange and Cream in mousseline! Thé 90 cm size to boot!

This scarf reminds me of the very happy four years that I lived in Islamabad, Pakistan. The very close community of Americans and other ex-pats made me think of a Norman Rockwell small town. I was physically fit (even though my weight said I was morbidly obese). I was well respected, and people sought me out to personal train them, and came to my water aerobics and step aerobics classes. Many got their hands and feet painted with henna in designs such as those on this scarf!

And my other reason:. I received a dot of henna in my forehead, after walking on rose petals surrounded by the love of my classmates when I graduated from my 200 hour yoga teacher training!View attachment 4294538

The scarf is lovely, and I am so fond of the colors on it, which look great on you. It must be so much fun to have such strong associations with a lovely part of your life.

Thank you so much for these! The Pivoines is exquisite! This is definitely one that I’m considering now... And, it’s such a splendorous design! Ties beautifully! Congrats!

Thank you! And please post the Grand Prix when you get it. Such an awesome scarf! I love mine. Which CW did you get?

Hmmm... Inuse mine as reference all the time... I’m going to pore over it to try to find these two!

All gorgeous BUT this is my ABSOLUTE favorite CW of Early America... Sigh...

What a lovely compliment... Thank you so much!

Unbelievably gorgeous!

Oh my! I’m so sorry service was so bad there! But you did good with this one and didn’t walk out empty handed!

I will! I picked out the hot pink one and it is currently in the "presents for later" stash Mr Bcat keeps on tap....

I don’t know if the time of year made a difference Anna? As a compare and contrast, H was empty and the service dreadful but LV was bustling and the SA there was super helpful. Guess which got more of my money...!

Oh I guess I was thinking that SAs can be grumpy post holiday rush — maybe he was denied a vacation or some such. Not that it is an excuse, of course!
