My first shopping experience with Terri went really well. I picked up the black legend sandals and a belt. I was wondering if anyone knew whether purchasing a less popular bag such as the mini lindy would help in me obtaining the Kelly or Constance? Does only ready to wear and jewelry pieces help build purchase history?

Unfortunately bag purchases won’t really help in obtaining a quota bag. Like duggi84 mentioned, ready to wear, home goods and fine jewelry are the quickest path towards a Kelly or Constance. Otherwise a slow and steady approach, buying pieces that you love and deepening your relationship with your SA can eventually lead to quota bags without a 1:1 spend.

Terri is so sweet and I'm glad you found something you wanted. I was under the assumption that all mini bags are in high demand right now, correct me if I'm wrong. Obtaining a Kelly or Constance will also depend on how open you are to leathers, colors, hardware, size, etc.

Thank you for that information! Do you know what work was required for your kelly?

My SA told me the local store manager decides where to send the bag to. I don't want my bag to be sent to Paris because I was scared by the stories on this forum about a lady who sent her bag to Paris that was deemed fake by Hermes, and had to be destroyed. At least in the US if they cannot authenticate I can still have the bag and request a return
My vintage kelly needed a new handle and handle anchors as they were both torn at the base. I can understand your fear, but hopefully your bag was authenticated and you can send the bag in with your mind at ease.

Re: non-quota bags/SLG not counting towards spend for quota bags.....Is this only at certain stores in the U.S.? Because it seems - just based off of what I've read on the forum - as if this is the case at the more competitive stores. Unless this is now the policy for all U.S. boutiques! Still learning...
I don’t buy RTW or fine jewelry, mostly shoes, fashion jewelry, some homegoods and scarves, and SLGs and I get offered quota bags in SF... it’s always about loyalty and buying what you love. Unless you want the bag right away then I heard RTW and fine jewelry does the trick... men’s watches too. In my experience in other states bags like mini Lindy and mini evelyne are counted towards your quota bag offer. I mean, you would think an $8k+ bag would be a big deal right? I feel like in the US at least, any item bought counts because it’s all in your purchase history, and that shows loyalty.

I brought it in and they got back to me with a quote after less than a week! The after sales specialist at SF was much more professional and knowledgeable about the process than my local SA.

How difficult is it to get a SO at the SF store? Has anyone had any experience with it? How much did you spend before being offered a SO?
I just placed a SO order, I never asked about a SO, so it was quite a surprise to be offered one. Ive been with my SA for about 2 years and average spending between 20-40k a year but thats including quota bags.

So my personal experience with the SF store... I'm local (as in I can walk there) called for an appt (they're still appointment only) and left a message. I was then promptly called back and had an appt the following week. Was paired randomly with an SA but I feel we just did not click. I purchased shoes and a twilly, and I appreciated how she was very clear and honest with what I should expect for a B or K and indicated items I should purchase later on. I admittedly tried to make the relationship work and pinged her for some shoes I would like and she told me they didn't have any. Lo and behold..the SA I met in Hawaii had them and shipped them asap! So she didn't even check other stores inventory :(

It really bums me out because I recently met TWO amazing SAs in Hawaii! One who my friends purchased with and one I purchased with. Hawaii also had a vast selection in stores of shoes, twillies and rodeos that SF does not. Even more importantly, the store feels luxurious without feeling cold and so I would like to make Hawaii a home store but a 6 hour flight is not insignificant! My fiance also does not like Hawaii  I am going to Vegas next month so I am considering building a purchase history there, but my partner and I are thinking of trying for kids next year and when I think of "where can I drag my family for a shopping trip" Hawaii feels more reasonable to me than Vegas. But Vegas could really be a one-day trip if I was feeling ambitious.

I feel like I'm still oscillating between "wanting to play the game" in SF or Hawaii, or even Vegas but just wanted to share my SF experience, although it's just one experience and I'm sure the SA I met has customers she has a solid relationship with...

While San Francisco is a flagship and can get a lot of items (especially "special" ones), Hawaii is a high-volume location catering to a huge number of tourists and as a result has a very large inventory at all times. Our SA in SF has ordered things from the Hawaii store for us more than once. That said, San Francisco's a great store with excellent SAs...I encourage you to build your relationship there since it's so close, unless you have some need for an accelerated bag offer that you believe SF can't get you. You'll likely face more competition in both Hawaii and Vegas, as a customer, too.

Hey Duggi,

Thanks for sharing your experience  it's really helpful for people like me. Of course logistically it makes sense to just stay in SF which is why I think I've been really stressed about this as neither Vegas nor HI feel very sustainable. Sigh I will refrain myself in Vegas and just try again in the San Francisco store! I was just so disappointed when the SA I was matched with did not even look for the shoes, and she would often take many days to text back. I'm hoping I will have better luck this time, thanks again for the gentle nudge!
