Does anyone have a SA recommendation / SA they love for SF? I'm in SF now and I love the vintage discontinued leathers and heritage leathers (like smooth Berenia and Box), so since they're harder to come buy I'd always looked at pre-loved and thought that the SA-relationship path may not be worth it.

However, now that I'm near a flagship perhaps there's a higher chance of non-discontinued heritage leathers? So I'm considering developing a SA-relationship instead (the possibility of a new B/K is alluring given the purseforum posts!), but starting the process is intimidating and I've read stories of bad SA experiences which just adds to the intimidation/nerves factor...

All of the SF SAs are friendly. Currently in store shopping is by appointment only. I recommend you to just call the store to make an appointment first. As an FYI Barenia and Box are not discontinued. I got my Fauve Barenia K and Box Birkin from SF during the past 3 years. They are just really rare to get store fresh as Fauve Barenia and Box are strictly Push Orders. HTH

Thanks! I'll give it a try and hopefully I connect with someone! Apologies if my writing was confusing, I meant to say that I like (A) the vintage discontinued leathers; and (B) the heritage (non-discontinued) leathers such as box and barenia. Appreciate the response and it's a good sign to me that they're all generally friendly!

I have been told that I can only do curbside pick-up or by sending items by mail only. Good to know you can set up an appointment for in store shopping!

Hello All! I’m a long time lurker of TPF and finally decided to join so I could post. I’m a Bay Area girl and the SF store is going to be the closest one to me.

I am on the hunt for a Rooroo charm in blue cerulean if possible or rose azalee. I just pursued my first H bag, a TPM Evelyne in cognac and black and gold PM rodeo. I have a Toolbox 26 in Colvert as my next bag and it’s going to need a charm. I’m in love.

I have never purchased from an H store, only on the preloved market. Would you recommend trying to contact the H SF store to inquire about a rooroo? If so, any recommended SAs? I’m not after a quota bag, I just love the H brand, its heritage and would probably be after charms, jewelry, scarfs, SLGs and twillys.

I’ve been stalking the H website multiple times a day daily. When the H bug bites you it’s easy to become addicted.

Thank you all in advance!

Hello! Bay Area girl here too born and raised. :ghi5:

Love your TPM Evie and twinsies on the rodeo!

Absolutely contact the store to make an appointment to shop. I'm sure you'll be paired with a lovely SA. Since it's appointment only, I think this is a great way for those that haven't shopped in an H store before to to get 1:1 service, connect to the people there and find pretty orange things. Have fun!

I was hoping some of you that frequent the SF store can shed light on my question - I am hoping to get one H bag - specifically a Kelly 28 retourne in Black with togo or clemence leather (or potentially a 32). Given how popular this bag is and that I can only see myself purchasing a scarf or bracelet from the store (because this is a purchase I am saving up for), is this completely infeasible? Do I need to go preloved route? TIA for any insight!

To be totally honest, I would say that would be close to impossible unless a miracle happened. I tried at the PA store, and the SF store is probably similar and likely harder. There are just way too many high income clients in this area. I got my two Bs from Paris, as I don't buy any designer items pre-loved or from resellers (even if brand new). I won't be trying at the PA store again.

Thanks for the honest answer. Can I ask what color your Bs are? I've read how hit or miss the Paris store can be so I am assuming the odds of getting a neutral Kelly in Paris would be extremely difficult as well.

My home store is SF and I can confirm that the number of current clients, walk ins, and new clients asking for a @ Kelly 28 or 32 is really high. Neutrals colors are in hot demand for many stores. If you just want that bag then buying from a reseller is your best bet especially if you can’t spend $$$. SF respects loyalty and those who love the brand as a whole. HTH
