So I ended up finding time to call the SF store today asking about the scarf. They have none in stock but they do have a couple on hold. I didn't quite get a straight answer on if they expect more to be made/shipped, but I was able to put down my name and info so if any does become available they will let me know. Also confirmed that they can ship it. So I put my name down... I don't have very high hopes, but at least there's a chance!

Hello to the SF shoppers ~

I’m fairly new to my H journey and have been shopping at SF as my home store although Palo Alto is closer. Also, I’ve read this entire thread as well as the maintaining H relationship thread [emoji28]

I’ve been working with an SA since September of this year and have spent about $5K on items I truly love (shoes, earrings, shawl, belt kit). I of course have told my SA I’d love to get a Birkin and gave him my wishlist. If you don’t mind me asking, how much did you have to spend at SF before you got your first offer? Please feel free to PM me if that’s better as I’d truly appreciate learning about your own experiences! [emoji846]

I’ve told my SA that I’m also looking for a mini Evelyne but my SA has never reached out to me to let me know if any are available. I texted him last weekend to inquire about any Picotin 18 with GHW and have not yet received a response. During my last visit, I inquired about other items I’m looking for but they weren’t available in stock at the store. My SA did not offer to order them directly for me, is that typically how things work? Can I only buy items through my SA if they’re in stock at the store? I know I can buy some things off my wishlist online but obviously would prefer to buy through my SA..

Thank you all so much in advance [emoji173]️

I'll let others comment on the spend bit for SF, but re: ordering from other stores, I was recently told that they're not able to transfer anything from other stores through the holiday season (ie. not until January). You are, however, able to do charge-send's but that means you're buying the item up front and they're sending it from another store, and it would be subject to the standard return/exchange policies so maybe your SA didn't offer to order it for you for that reason.

Ah gotcha, that makes sense! Thank you for providing that information. Do you know if SAs frown upon the charge-send option? I’m happy to wait as I’d prefer to buy directly through my SA and don’t want to create a lot of unnecessary work for my SA on smaller items such as mugs.

You can have your SA do the charge send on your behalf. You do have to be in store to do a charge send unless you complete an authorization form.

For your original question of amount spend for a quota bag. There is no set amount. For SF they appreciate loyal long term clients. Since you just started shopping with SF in Sept. you will need to prove your loyalty to the store and to your SA.

My experience is they like your appreciation for the brand. Since SF is far, I was only able to go sparingly. I’ve amassed a great bag collection over the years via reseller/friend network route. So when I did start to go to SF H, maybe once a month the most, I bought things I loved: a cashmere coat, slg’s, shoes, without ever really having the intention of a bag. Maybe a few months in, the SA asked if there were a bag. I gave specs of the birkin, and within a week, I was offered that bag. I got the bag and still over time bought some silks, shoes, etc. Unfortunately, I stopped going to SF H, since I had 3rd baby, and life is so crazy now. Hope that helps.

Thank you very much for sharing your experience! There are many non-bag items on my wishlist that I hope to get over time. Hoping that my SA understands I plan to be a long-term customer and truly appreciate the brand outside of Birkins/Kellys [emoji1317]

I was at my home store today and mentioned my desire for the special edition scarf. My SA said she wonders if she can do a charge send for me and another SA told her no charge sends can be made for now; have to wait until January. Holiday season sounds like quite a brutal time for retail...my SA also told me that they basically can’t take any time off during this time (there was another SA who was working even though she has a cold). I can only imagine the craziness of end of year shopping and end of year targets...

At the same time there was another SA running around looking for something wondering if it’s in a display window. When another SA asked him who’s asking for it he said Beverly Hills. So I’m guessing like all H rules, they can be bent (probably for VVVIPs :P)

I do hope that you are able to find your scarf!

Yrs and yrs ago I worked at Nordstrom. Holiday time is a real beating. Smiling, being polite, while your poor feet are so sore. I appreciate all SA’s, especially during this crunch.

100%. I just did a charge send and it was no issue. I think all H rules are bent :)
