So I ordered something from Ruelala in November before thanks giving and the order was shipped to me incorrectly. I received a wrong item. So i called them right away to issue the return. So i packed the stuff back and shipped it back with the UPS label they have given me with when I called them.

And then on Dec 1, it shows that the package is back at their warehouse. So I was relieved to see that.

The policy says that it should take 7-10 business days for the return process and the credit will be put back into my credit card account.

I ve called them several times last week. They keep pushing the dates away saying like it will show in ..blah blah days so i should wait

So i have been waiting and i called again today
Now this time the guy picked up and he was saying that he doesn't really know why it has taken this long and he will forward the issue to the corporate office. He said that someone from the office will call me within 3-5 days

I'm really frustrated about this whole thing. My order was about $400 worth. It's not a tiny bitty money

So i was wondering am I the only one who experiencing this?
This was my first time dealing with them
I have never bought anything from them before.... and clearly this would definitely be my last.

I don't know what to do now
sorry it's so long!

I have returned something to Ruelala before, but they just credited my Ruelala account the money. It wasn't a direct refund. I don't know if their return policy has changed?
But other than that, I would call them again, and ask to speak to a manager?
Good luck with this! =\

call your credit card company that you used to pay for the item, tell them to issue a charge-back and provide them the tracking number showing the merchandise was returned in Nov. Your credit card will be credited right away. and then the credit card company will deal with ruelala. basically since you have the tracking showing you returned the goods, there won't be any issue.

if it were me, i'd have given them 1-2 weeks to credit me, then i would have done a charge-back.

it is usually a store credit, but she said she got the wrong item, which would be ruelala's error, and would warrant a refund of purchase price.

Yes it's a wrong item. so when i called they said they will refund me to the credit card

but i really don't know why it has been taking so long
I will call tmrw morning and try to speak with a manager then i will call my credit card company

thanks alliemia :)

Sorry to bump an old thread but this topic is probably the main review source for Ruelala.com on google right now and I just wanted to warn others about Rue-la-la and their customer service which has caused me a lot of stress after I tried to return a watch and they gave me what feels like the old run-around instead of just crediting my account. Please be careful with big ticket items because if you try to return it they might give you problems. I can't prove it if they are being malicious or they are just incompetent, but there is plenty of evidence that supports the former. There is no feeling that I am dealing with a honest company that appreciates me as a customer, instead, it feels as if they are trying to frustrate me until I give up. After all, how are they going to get rid of the returned items? Sell them on ebay? However you look at it, they made their return rules and they need to honor them. :cursing:

I've had good transactions with Rue La La but I've never returned anything. A lot of sample sale sites can become problems when you try and return/cancel an order, I canceled an order with Gilt once and it ended up going through anyway and I received the item

I've used Ruelala a couple of times and while I did have to return an item (sunglasses that arrived scratched, their packaging isn't what it should be) my other order came through okay. I didn't know people were having bad experiences with them - definitely report to Consumerist and the BBB!

I did't know people were having bad experiences with RueLaLa. I ordered from them a few times and have been happy with my purchases. The items I received were packed very nicely and I got them for a significant discount . They were items still seliing for more in department stores so needless to say, I am satisfied.

I got some great things from Ruelala - Junior Drake bag, gorgeous $600 bed sheets for about $100 - Shipping is slow!!! So you have to take the pro (discount) with the con (up to 2 wks before you get an item).
In regards to return, they do provide you with 30 days to return, free return UPS label comes with the item. Only thing is that you will get a ruelala credit instead of the return $ going back on your credit card that you paid with. I love Hautelook better!

I received two things from them recently - one with a big white mark on the front (a Black coat:nuts:) and the other was a pair of black silk pants with one of those plastic magnetic store security tags attached. I emailed customer service [twice] and have had no reply. That is kind of strange because they have always in the past sent an immediate auto reply saying they would look into whatever the problem was and get back to you.
I have heard nothing. Strange, but I just wondered if anyone else had this experience. This happened end of last week. :confused1:

That is one sample site I've actually never had a problem with - receiving/returns prompt. Bizarre...hope it hasn't gone down hill.

Reading about the white mark, maybe it been a previous return. I'd send that item back.

I have never had an issue with Rue la la, but a white mark on the black coat is weird. Can you figure out what it is? Is it something that will permanently stain? Regarding the security tag, that's just careless! Keep us updated OP!

Thanks I am going to have to call them I guess. I mean how the heck do I get off the security tag w/o ruining the pants? And the white mark looks kinds like chalk, but I think it is so careless for them to send it out like that. I was going to take it to my dry cleaner and ask him if it can be removed easily.
The strange thing is I bought a pair of Cavalli shoes yesterday and they sent me an email that my order was successful, etc. It's either customer service emails aren't going through or they are avoiding me?
