It's a lost cause, even if you're there at 11 est. I logged on at exactly 11, put something in the cart within 30 seconds and then before I finished checkout (and I went right there) it was gone.

I guess everyone's schedule's are different - I just like how Gilt and Neimans make their sales around traditional 9-6 working hours. Obviously you can't please everyone but I wish they would sorta try!

I agree that a lot of it is luck. Today's sale was a final clearance of items from past sales. There may have only been one or two of the bag you wanted and they were snatched up in seconds.

The worst is hautelook.com --they changed their site to make it inaccessible to all who use network computers they dont respons and they dont care! I think their sales are suffering b/c of it

I just wonder if any lady had bad experience with Ruelala or Im the only one. I placed order with Ruelala 3 times, and none was a good experience:
- The first time, it took a month for the order to arrive, which I no longer need it
- The second time, the item I put in my cart and checked out was different from the one they sent in the confirmation email. I saw it right away and called them, and they said it too late to do anything, so I have to do it as a return (they waived the shipping fee, etc), but it was such a hassle.
- Most recent time, I did not realized that the check out do not ask me for my address again and used the old adress from last order (I no longer live there). When I finished checking out & realized that the address was wrong, I called them right away. The guy on the phone said his computer is having problem, but assured me that he wrote down the new address and he would change it for me once his computer is back to normal.
I thought everything was ok, till today I called to check and the address was wrong, and I cannot change the address anymore, since it is over a day.

It's been such a hassle for me ordering from this place, can their system be any worse?

From my experience, these outlet sites (Ruelala, Hautelook, Gilt) take a long time to ship. As I understand it, they don't always have the merchandise, and have to wait for the manufacturer to ship.

I recently ordered some Henkel knives and some Tommy Bahama items from Ruelala. The Henkel knives were ordered in August, and I just received the shipping notice THIS WEEK. While I ordered the TB pants after Labor Day, and I already have them. I think on your first negative experience, that's the norm for these sites. You just have to be patient.

I was livid when they had a blow out sale a month or so ago.. I scored 2 items at insanely low prices, I was estatic to say the least..I go to check out, and the server was so overloaded, I couldn't get to the checkout and lost the items. I tried for a good 40 minutes hoping they would freeze the items in buyer's carts as the site was obviously not working and they MUST have known they were going to have a LOT of angry buyers. The site closed shortly after.
I sent them an email and told them that I was livid and asked why the site didn't close
immediately after seeing problems, and why not 'freeze' the items in buyer's carts, so they can still purchase them
later in the day..
I know the site has closed another time before this. They should get a clue and fire their techs.
They've been around long enough to have their act together.

I can understand the long shipping wait..I'll tolerate this if I get a great a great deal on an item.
Losing items due to their server problem is inexcusable.

I can understand waiting for a long time for the item. But sending the wrong item, having technical issue when fixing the customer's problem is unacceptable. And the most frustrating is that even though it is their fault, they asked me to pay the shipping back and I had to talk to their manager to have it waived. Not that the shipping fee is expensive or anything, but it just shows how irresponsible they are.

The ruelala website is fustrating the hell outta me. i already paid the $10 for all day shipping so any items i add should be free shipping but there is a stupid glitch where it doesn't recognize your shipping zip code and you can't place any more orders cuz you can't check out!! Not only do i lose my chance to use the shipping i already paid for, i lose the items i want

I've made several orders from Hautelook from work where my computer is networked. I've never had a problem with their site at work.

I just posted in the NM dash thread that I think it's great that they mix up the start of their dashes and that it sucks that Ruelala, etc. do not. I live in CA and really think they don't value the West Coast customers. By the time I log in, the good stuff is long gone.

I work and have kids to get off to school. There is no way for me to log onto any of these sales before 8:30 PST. It sucks. I have $40 in credits due to referrals, and cannot spend it!
