I went in all set to get the 25 in chalk as well but came out with the regular in red. Unless you plan to carry the 25 with the short handles, which I didn't intend to, it didn't pop for me. The red is on the site now and is an accurate photo (all red with the dark hardware). It is much lighter and I'm a fan of it. Just sharing...

I just saw the red one today and I love the color!

Ladies, CHECK the hardware on your Rogue - specifically the nail head/screw heads for the handles.

I carried my chalk today for the second time ever and already one of the nail heads is peeling. Seriously? I don't baby my bags, but I am not rough on them either. I hand carried this bag all the time. Whatever I bumped into, scraped off most of one of the nail heads, yet the leather around it is pristine. I'm so upset. :shucks::cry::cry:

I called the store right away. My SA wasn't there, but the person who answered said I could go in anytime and they would take care of me. I plan to take in the bag tomorrow. Here's hoping they do make it right.

Here's what it looks like:

This made me sick to the stomach. I was afraid to look at my Yellow/Ostrich, as it has the same hardware. I looked at it last night - and one of the nail heads was peeling. Then.... pulled it out this morning in the sunlight. The one that was peeling was sticky - residue from the clear plastic they sometimes to stick to hardware (usually around the turnlocks). I was able to roll it off and peel with my fingers.
So.... my question is, are you certain yours couldn't have been the same coating too?
Also, did you, or any of the SA's hear of this happening to others?

I have the white/chalk too.... tags still on. The hardware looks fine....... but I'm so afraid now. I hate giving it up, as I also got an original with 30% off, but if it's going to be a problem, I'll return:sad: I'm so sorry this happened to yours...... I can't believe Coach would let bad hardware slip through (especially after the Kristin experience a few years ago - )

No help here, just chiming in to say I'm sorry about this! It doesn't look as if you bumped the bag. I hope Coach looks after you well.
Thank you

Glad Coach took care of you! This is why I always hesitate to venture to some premier brands, which are ironically not as great in terms of customer service. Shame about the hardware though! Hope the black copper ones will be okay.
Yes, I really have to say the customer service is great.

That's great!!! Did you keep your other rogue? What color is it? Maybe the defect is only with the black hardware....
I really hope it was a random thing. I still have the other one. I got the mineral. I love the color, but DH not so much and his reaction to the color is just making me a hesitate a little - it' supposed to be a mother's day/birthday present from him.

The problem is, I see that black hardware on a lot of the new ones. :(
That is my favorite hardware, actually. I wish they had put it on all the bags. :smile1: I really hope it's not a general issue.

I know your pain I got a refund for my mineral that had the stitching coming out. I traded my cornflower rogue with a friend for the chalk rogue and I'm going to have to carry it instead of it sitting there
So glad to hear you got the chalk. I hope you carry her soon. She's lovely.

I can't wait to see it irl. The SA said they're not getting anything new until the end of next month. Bummer.

I did not feel like the plastic to me. That bag had come completely unwrapped from a store. When I passed my finger over the scraped part it felt rough and a bit sharp. The edges did not peel further as would happen if it had been the plastic cover. The SA said she hadn't heard of that happening before. It doesn't seem to be happening to others. I would say, keep yours and use it. (BTW, my Kristin never had an issue. Go figure. :smile1:) )

Rough and sharp sounds like it had to be the finish. Such a disappointment. For sure I'll watch mine carefully. A few have had problems with the edge coating.... so I keep an eye on that too. If they made them to wear like steel 75 years ago..... they should be able to do even better now!

That's how I expected mine to wear. I still do. Fingers crossed. :D

I can totally relate. I looked at my oxblood last night after seeing the post about the peeling. It has the same color hardware - that polished gunmetal and I'm terrified of it peeling and scratching. I had a large Borough in Alpine moss from last year that had the same issue with the zippers. It started chipping after about 2 months. I am guessing that the brass hardware is more durable. I agree that this is really unacceptable on Coach's part; it is a very expensive bag and they exclude it from discounts. We shouldn't have to worry about the hardware peeling after a few weeks of purchasing.

Has anyone seen the Rogue 36 yet? Thoughts on it?
Not in person, but on the website. I would love to see it in person. The price tag is a little hefty and I am guessing so is the weight of the bag. Right now, none of the stores close to me carry it, but I recall one of them saying that they may get one in so I'll keep checking. For the website pics, I love everything about the bag, but it's just too expensive for me right now.:(

Is this the black copper hardware having problems? The old brass is okay?

It's definitely a hefty price tag, I agree. I wish there were more colors in the non-exotic versions.

I'm just wondering how much bigger it actually it. I feel like it's more similar to a Birkin 35 than a 40. And the 40 is the size I'd need.

There are more colors coming out in the non-exotic end of next month in black, and I think saddle :smile1:

Read somewhere (likely somewhere in TPF) that black/ gunmetal hardware is usually plated, painted, powdercoated (disclaimer on appropriste metallurgical terms). They can (and do) wear at points of friction- not a lot to do about that. Should be longer-lasting at this price-point, yet there may be limits to the process (as in: there may be no such thing as better coating process vs economy coating process).

Any black hardware in my past has started wo wear within first few days. Just what it does...
