So...my mom and I stopped into Coach yesterday to get a couple of 1941 bags monogrammed...and they had the "new," lighter version of the Rogue bag out for prefall. Pretty colors, but...

It's not the same bag. I like the original version better. There's no lock, none of the pretty details of the original, the stitching is different -- and I made sure that I wasn't looking at the smaller version with the SA, which I know they removed the lock for.

I don't have the money for a Rogue right now, but I'm curious -- are the first generations even still available?!! I scrolled around this thread for reactions to the new one but couldn't find any. I don't mean to step on toes, because I think it's still a pretty bag, but I really prefer the original Rogue.

WHY DOES COACH KEEP CHANGING GOOD BAGS WITHIN A MATTER OF WEEKS?!!!! It might be a "lighter" version of the Rogue to carry - but they are skimping on details!!!!!!
Does this mean that the mineral Rogue that was restocked is now without those details?
Hmmm... I might just hold on tightly to the one I got. I was lucky to get it shipped from a store still wrapped to the nines.

Did you get it with the 30% off discount way back in March? Just spoke with an SA over the phone who said any of the new rogue colors/styles are excluded from any promotion, even if you exchange one that you got previously with the 30% off promotion. That's not what my SA that I normally deal with said, but she is off for the next few days and by that time, my return/exchange period will have expired. So, I may just hold onto mine as well and see if the other colors ever hit department stores or outlets. You never know. .. the oxblood rogue is available online at Nordstrom. That could be foretelling that eventually, more colors will arrive at department stores. I'd say if you got yours at a discount, hold onto it. From now on, it's full price or nothing.:(

I got it with the mother's day pce. It was to replace the chalk Rogue that had a defect I had not noticed. The first replacement (in chalk) had clearly been carried and returned and by then they were sold out. So I opted for the mineral just too see. I was so surprised when it came in all wrapped.

No more discounts even with exchanges is a bummer. [emoji26] I so want to see the denim one. I wonder if I'll like it more than mineral...

Nordstroms also had the mineral and then it disappeared. I wonder if Coach pulled them to sell it themselves since mineral was sold out on coach's website for a while- now it's back.

Ugh, I had no idea that Rogues were included in the Mother's Day discount. I may have purchased the olive back then. Oh well. . . I got the oxblood and I guess I'm going to keep it since I got 30% off and we can't get anymore discounts. The blue is gorgeous and I would have gotten that one or the olive one if they had another promotion that we could apply toward the Rogues.

I noticed that too about the Nordstrom site. They had the mineral and the black and they both disappeared very fast. I figured they just sold quickly since they have a more generous return policy than Coach.

+1 Totally agree! Overall, the original Rogue with the lock and other details was a much nicer and better looking bag. Frankly, I don't understand this obsession over bag "weight,"
but then I am used to carrying large "heavy" bags, and don't really notice weight. IMO, in this new "lighter" Rogue, Coach has sacrificed quality, the leather, sans lock, the zipper, etc. A "lighter" bag should also have a "lighter" price, meaning that this newer Rogue is not an $800. bag now. :amazed:

I agree there. . . if they are going to omit certain details of the bag, it definitely should be $100 cheaper or so and they should also have promotions apply to this style.

EXACTLY!!! Thank you. I'm actually surprised that they haven't raised the price, like they did for the dinky flower applique bag.

Yup not to mention a lot of us bought the original rogues 30% off.
I was thinking the same thing. We may not find a better deal than that for a long time. I recall one of the store managers advised me to keep the one that I got for that discount because going forward, the Rogue wouldn't qualify for any PCE's or promotions. Now, the one that I ordered back then is sold out so that was good advice. I'm curious to see if the new ones sell or if they end up shipping a lot of them to the outlet. I remember when the Borough bag came out with new colors, they didn't sell as well and the summer colors like the chambray were shipped in droves to the outlets. I guess time will tell.
